Hi I’m Leo. Welcome to the channel! Place17 Motorcycle Adventures is your place to enjoy my world of motorbike travel, rides, banter and laugh.
Why I started Place17 Adventures channel? I love to travel, see places, meet people. I love motorbikes. I am thrilled by the challenge of going on my own for long distance travel. It is where magic happens. You, the local people, experiencing unexpected situations. For many years I followed channels of my fellow motovloggers. I knew one day I will launch my own channel. That day is finally here!
What content you find here? A good old motovlog, videos from all my trips, shorts and live streams. Some specific how-to videos focused on lesson's learned from long-distance travels will come later on. This is to spice it up a little bit here with educational content, though my aim is pure entertainment. There are other channels better suited for educational content!
Let's find out together where this journey takes me!
We’ve driven the Grossglockner Hochalpstrasse several times, always awesome that road and the views! 👍 That snow makes it very special. Amazing what nature has to offer us, every time of the year. Great video Leo! 👍🏍️😎
thank you both@@oldbootsontour, I used to do “The Glock” quite regularly, different times in the year. Never though this close after the opening with snow… Quite frankly this was one of the most intense, memorable visits… quite spontaneous too. This trip still puts smile on my face - it was million times worth it! 😀
@@oldbootsontour I was hoping for the Timmelsjoch too, but now it looks like it has to wait for the next year! Got a nice footage from there from August 2022… I think with a good voiceover, it may make a nice video! 😂😀
Respect Leo, that was a tough trip and a very great achievement! In so less hours so many kilometers, even with that bad weather 🫣👍👍👍 Motorcycle driving is about the journey, not just riding the bike. Everything that happens during the riding makes it special: meeting people, seeing things, enjoying the views, it all makes it interesting, joy and even the bad things enrich your experiences. For example: because of riding with our bikes and enjoying all aspects of that, we met you! And what a hell of an experience was that for us! 😝😂😜👍
@@oldbootsontour sending ❤️ my friends! love the possibilities youtube and motorbiking together brings - infinite chances to meet people, ride together and meet friends for life! 👍👋🤟😀
Well, that was a wet and chilly trip, but you did very well! 👍 Didn’t expect so much traffic with this weather. But as you said: it was a Saturday. Although the fog and grey weather, it was awesome to see those snow walls again. And the view when it cleared up is stunning! 👍👍👍
Hi Leo, Awesome video again! We had a beautiful time with you and ofcourse we missed you too, when you left. On our way back to the north we stopped at the same restaurant where you had your ripoff. Only, we stopped there just for a drink. But believe us, most of the time when we went back to the north we had to pay more than the 12 - 15 euro also. The biggest ripoff was in Dieppe (France) and the ABR-festival. But you enjoyed the ride through Tuscany and got save to your destination, that's the main thing 😜 Greetzzzz OBOT!
@@oldbootsontour I wan on Pirelli Trail 2 tyres, their marketing department claims they are offroad capable 😀 … to me, they looked like a normal road tyres that you may take on a short patch of gravel road… but to be fair, I swifted through the trail and enjoyed every bit of it - again, thankful to Richy for sharing the best from this stunning area!
Hi Leo, what a great video again! This was really a beautiful day and we enjoyed it very much! No, you didn't push us too far, allthough for Mai-Ly it was very exhausting, so many twisties and hairpin turns... she was very tired. But that doesn't mean, she didn't have fun and had a great time. Unfortunately as well, you, Sil and we don't have anything on camera from that part we were blasting with those 3 Italian guys 😞. That was really cool! 🤪😎. Yes, Henri liked riding on your Multistrada, but it was very different from the Transalp, also because of your tyres. The riding time was a little too short, to get really confident with it. But Ducati is always cool to drive. Great that you liked the Transalp as well! We're happy that you had fun on this trip too. A good choice this route! Thanks for the great time you gave us!! 👍👍👍
LOL yes that moment chasing on the road with the locals! Probably better we do not have the footage though 😀 That said I was a bit too relaxed with filming on this day, almost up to a point to squash two days together again in one vid. I could not see the clear storyline, and then when I watched the footage I've got more and more, I could not help to realize how exhausted Mai-Ly was after the entire day during which I did not take you on a patch of a straight road! Glad to hear you enjoyed our time together, see you soon my friends! 👋
Your only problem is that we have to choose a moment in the year when tourists are not too much infesting the place . The nice quality of your channel makes it enjoyable to watch . 🌞🌞
@@oldbootsontour 🫣😊😀🏍️ I am sooo sorry, hope I did not push you too far that day! editing the vid in my spare time - fun when I rode Henri’s Transalp and he did ride my Multistrada😀
No mate, stop spreading nonsense please here. Türkiye is one of the safest countries I’ve ever been. I met some of the friendliest people out there. I made friends for life. The police stoped me for the same reason as anywhere else - I was speeding a bit. They were on their bikes, I was on a bike, we had a good chat and laugh. I did not even get a ticket!
Very smooth stabilization and images. Looks smoother than the GoPro. The sound is also good, even with higher speeds. We are always struggling with the GoPro's too. Nice ride 😜
When I am 100% honest to myself, probably the last thing my videos needed was a new camera. But, at the same time, this lovely new DJI camera allows me to focus less on "will it handle the dynamic range here, will there be audio, will I get any useable footage whatsoever or is it ruined due to skipping frames, will I have the white balance too much off to have to fiddle with it too much in the post-prod ... or the classic - will it ran out of battery exactly at that moment I loved". It is a tool that makes my life easier while I'm still being on the path to learn so much on other fronts - putting the storyline together, translating it via imagery and editing rather than saying it with words... So yes, I'm happy with the new camera, on the technical side it looks better than my GoPro 10 was; and it gives me that extra few bars of confidence in "this is what I want to do, this is how I want this image turn out to be" on my rookie youtuber journey!
Well Leo, What an amazing awesome video you made here! We had a lot of fun watching it. Winding roads, beautiful views and a lot of amusing moments. You even baptised our good friend to King Sil in the movie 😝👍. Very well done, keep on doing it this way! 👍👍👍😜.
@@oldbootsontour Yes, who knew that with a spontaneous ride to test new camera, I could do a video too 😂 I’m happy with the new set up. Could not decide between Insta360 Ace Pro and DJI Osmo Action4. Got a good deal on the DJI adventure package, almost 1/2 price of insta360 if I would buy all the extras that come as standard with the DJI! Love the sound, the picture quality and well, the ergonomics of the camera!
@@oldbootsontour I will finally share with you my raw footage too - feel free to use whatever fits to your video concept! Apologies it took me sooo long. The past two months were a sheer madness on my end!
