I've been debating getting one, i dont have the space for a full size grill top but did see this at Sam's. Great review! What kind of oil did you use to season it?
I will say thank you so much for the comment. I think I use like canola oil or vegetable oil to season it and then usually whenever I’m finished cooking and I’ll clean I just rub a little extra olive oil on it. I will yell ya, my wife and I have a full-blown Blackstone and we use this more because it’s easier and more convenient. when you’re actually cooking, you can’t tell the difference other than the size.
You are so welcome. That is exactly the reason why I did it. It’s so nice to be able to find out information before you go make a purchase. I really do appreciate your comments.
Bought one of these from Costco, about a month ago, cooked some steaks, it did well, I like it, but it went through a tank of propane in just a few days - seems there was a leak in the attachment to the propane tank, sprayed some soapy water on it and it was bubbling! Good size leak, tried to tighten it down more and that was not effective at stopping the leak. Time to take it back to Costco.
Wow, I hate to hear that. I don’t think my leagues I don’t cook on it enough to really see a difference and the time it takes to use a tank. Thank you so much for the comment because I will keep an eye on that.
Very nice. I took the bag to Vegas and I left it all together and when I put it into the overhead bin, it took a little extra effort to get it in, but it fit. The wheels worked fine no issues at all. Are you considering getting one?
Helpful tips for your viewers/users: I bought mine from costco 9/27/2023. Today, 8/11/24 I rebuilt this thing after owning it for less than a year in florida. Its stored on a stainless rolling trinity table on my large covered porch. So it sees humidity, but nothing worse. Ok, with that here are the issues. The grill is a stainless steel structure but they used aluminum rivets ot hold it together. The rivets degrade from galvanic corrosion(rivets act like tiny sacrificial anodes and just corrode away). The rails that hold the drip tray were the first to fail. The drip tray and rails were found laying on the table under the unit. The entire bottom also used the same rivets and were found in various states of failure. I bought some short #8 304SS screws/nuts and drilled out all the rivets (5/32 bit, fyi) and replaced them with screws. There are also 4 across the back that hold the rail that supports the lid pivots. I replaced those as well. Took about 1.5hrs to fix the problem areas. All stainless components are holding up fine, so hoping this lasts a while longer. If I bought a new one, and if you don't want to drill out rivets, I would invest in some high temp silicone like they sell for smokers and seal over all rivets in the burner area and bottom (this prevent moisture/electrolyte component from getting to rivets and it will avoid corrosion). Also, seal around perimeter of interior base. The base plate is not sealed to the side walls which is why some complain about grease leaking out and running down the legs. But do it before using the grill or the sealant won't stick. If the designers had spent 5 minutes with a materials and process engineer they could have avoided a lot of bad press on costco site. Good luck.
When I sprayed cooking spray while it was hot it turned brown. I wouldn’t do that. It’s hard to get off. I started wiping cooking oil on the grill with a paper towel to stop the sticking. I lined the bottom of the grill with foil, under the burners to prevent grease getting everywhere. It’s a hassle but easier cleanup.
Thanks for the video it really helped in my decision on getting this cooler. Compared to the artic zipperless I have now it's way better for my work environment. One way to keep the ice longer is to prechill your drinks and idk if that was added to the test but all in all thank you
The key to all coolers is to fill them and keep them topped up with e.g. Cans, frozen bottles, frozen food where possible etc , and yes ice or ice blocks - Void air -is the enemy! Adding additional polystyrene or similar will also help - Dry food should not get wet so you could also add small bins, clip locks etc. This looks a very cleverly designed cooler at a steal of a price for you.
I just paid $89 for mine at Walmart. Once the initial ice melt from the hot drinks I drained the water and refilled with ice. It's perfect for this beach trip.
lol. Deal! Thanks for the comment. My last campout on the last night I was going to sleep in it. However the wind got too high and I was worried about limbs falling. I am determined to do it. Have a great day.

@@dougsanythingeverything I will try and help you best way I can. I know Im a stranger and all and I understand that. But I would love to help you and see you win this fight! 👍
you know those dont work if you wanna loose weight right? protine is there to heal muciles if you work them a lot but if you dont work out a LOT you will only gain weight from it
I really appreciate the comment and your input. I am trying to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. I have started walking 2 miles every morning and I’m kind of getting into lifting weights. You are correct this is not a permanent solution or a long-term solution, but it is nice for an occasional snack when you want something really sweet.
question? if your traveling with family... is it best they wait for you at airport and then go pick them up... or should they ride shuttle with you to car rental place?
This is a good question. I will try not to get too wordy. The family going with you to the car rental terminal is problably the better idea. Depending on the time of day you go to pick up your car, the terminal can be very busy. My wife and I have had to wait an hour or more in line. In the baggage claim/ground transportation area at the airport, there isn't a lot of sitting options. At the terminal, they do have seating like at an airport gate. Maybe not as much, but more than I remember at the airport. Second, it may cost you to enter back into the airport to pick them up. I am not for sure, but something to think about. Most of the rental places are at the Las Vegas Rental terminal, however there are a few that are offsite. No big deal. For example, one we have used is Fox car rental. They have a shuttle bus at the Car Rental Terminal that will take you to their location. I have found they do not have as long of lines during the peak arrival times. If your family finds a good comfortable spot to wait for you at the airport, then I guess it comes down to personal preference. The shuttles are safe and take you exactly where you need to go. The terminal is nice and cool and has extra seating. All that being said, in my opinion I would take them with you. I appreciate the question.
This grill seems very nice. I went back picked one up yesterday after seeing it in store the day before. We were in the market for a new camp stove/grill for family car camping so I went to bass pro shops. At bass pro they had a Memorial Day sale and the Cabelas brand stainless portable grill was on sale from $99.99 down to $79.99 so I originally bought that with the $19.99 hose to convert it from the baby size 1lb propane tanks to the full size propane tank. Later that day I saw this at Costco and ended up going back to get it and return the Cabelas grill. The Cabelas grill was nice, but it only had one latch in the front center and it has a smaller cooking area and only 2-burners. For the same total price this seems more sturdy, has an extra burner, has a larger cooking surface, and has the solid 12 month Costco return/exchange policy if anything ever went wrong. I don’t plan to ever need to use the return or exchange policy but it’s nice to know they have it whereas bass pro was selling their 2 year program for another $25 on top. Can’t wait to get this grill going with some burgers and hot links out by the lake!
Thanks for the comment. I learned something today! I have been a Costco member for a couple of years now and didn't know about the 12 month return/exchange policy. Sure I've returned merchandise, but I didn't realize they honored it for 12 months. That is awesome.
