When I had my 2020 Honda Fit, 25 mph gave me 60 mpg and 50 mph gave me 57 mpg. I did these tests with a scangauge E and resetting and logging at fixed points. Curiously, there was not a linear drop from 60 to 57 mpg when speed climbed from 25 to 50 mph. Strangely, fuel economy fell all the way down to 43 mpg at 30 mph, then rose slightly to 45 at 35 mph, 49 at 40mph, 54 at 45 mph, 57 at 50 mph, and 55 at 55 mph. Those were just the peak values from all the gears I tested. I tested 2 or 3 different gears at each speed, and 6th was only the most efficient at 25, 50, and 55 mph. That particular car didn't like being between 1300-2150 rpm as it turned out.

Just want to say thank you for these videos. Even though my test didn't go well today, I was happy to recognize this junction from your video and did it confidently.

@ggp244 check out my book The upside-down driving instructor. It's aimed at driving instructors but there's no reason why learners can't benefit from the same information. It's available on Amazon.

Thanks for the video. I often have a go at people who park in a disabled bay without a blue badge. I even had a go yesterday when I was verbally abused and the bloke jumped out of his car and was on the verge of attacking me. Not many people confront these people (and I understand why). My Daughter is disabled and she has a blue badge. On some occasions we forget to bring her blue badge. What do we do? We park in a normal bay. As you say 'If you don't have a blue badge, then don't park in a disabled bay'. It's as simple as that. I have to add that on the last 4 occasions I have spoken to these blue bay abusers they have been of foreign nationality. They have all been abusive and they were all sitting in their vehicles waiting for the shopper to return. One man did eventually move his car to let me use the space but boy did he put up a fight. One of these days I will end up parking my car and blocking them in........what would happen then I wonder. On another note, my Father passed away last year. I returned his blue badge to the council when I registered his death (which was literally 1 week since passing). I knew someone who used their late Mothers badge way after the Mother died. It can't be that difficult to cancel a blue badge upon death. Thanks again for your video.

Imo people have been conditioned to drive at high speeds via propaganda. Nobody knows the figures you present in this video, they think if they cruise at 80 it’s good gas mileage. It’s all planned the gas corps don’t want us to know how much better low speeds are with gas mileage.

I've witnessed this once before, the hard shoulder and lane 1 was 40 and the middle/outside lane was 60mph. I remember braking from 60mph to 40mph and I thought to myself that is dangerous as you had some people braking quite hard and others driving significantly faster.

Could never have that in Canada, or anywhere it snows. With ONLY the painted white line being the differentiator, this feels entirely insufficient. Couldn't they make the light's casing a different colour or something?

Simple answer have the disabled and parent/ child bays segregated with a barrier/ warden I am sure people would pay a couple of pence to have this most companies have loyalty cards now could even be done through that take a couple of points from your total . The thing that should be more talked about is blue badge people abusing it

Thank god I found this channel , if I’m to keep independent I will have to use this set up , Really am hesitant they should give you test drives instead of throwing you in deep end . It’s really opening my eyes up to how completely different and a complete change none of the things you mentioned were even told to me regarding your hands not having access to various other controls you need while driving . 🙂‍↕️
