Great video.. It really agitates the clothes and washes them well..We had those candy stripped sheets when we were children. Cotton and also flannelette for the winter . 😊
Hi Peter the mic does pic up the sound well - But Yes we didnt know at the time that things would get quieter especially with direct drive induction motors and non asbestos brake pads Lol
@@WeHadOneOfThose We also used to have Hoover matic twin tubs in Australia and we're very popular back in the 70s and 80s and they were manufactured here too.
Brilliant video of such perfect easy to use machines..They just got on with it washing and rinsing in plenty of water and no fathing around with balancing when it came to spin.. "Hoover Who Better!" Wish someone would design one for today..Im sure they'd be huge in sales..😊
@@WeHadOneOfThose I know it was made by Hoover as my Mum had worked for them in London. Not sure of the model though. It had plastic squares with a pattern on each edge that you fed into a slot, a sort of early programming as it were. The wash you wanted had to face out towards you and not be put in the slot, Mum used to get very confused 🫤.
I need one of these. I’m fed up with modern washers breaking down all the time in less than a year. Right now we are waiting for parts and hand washing so some thing like this would be brilliant as a stand
@@WeHadOneOfThose I’ve bought one now, it’s brilliant. I just wish I bought one earlier. Also got a spinner dryer to speed up drying. The rollers take out water equivalent to a 800rpm spin so dry enough for the washing line but dropping them in the spinner really saves time in drying in the tumble or drying inside using a dehumidifier. I just need to work out where to renew the oil in the gearbox so it’s sorted for another couple of decades.
Hello, either taking the back off and filming the programme again and editing it in . or some machines have a panel on the front for servicing that you can remove .
Ciao, sì, certo, ma queste lavatrici a carica dall'alto erano molto apprezzate dalle famiglie numerose, dagli agricoltori ecc. perché erano così robuste e affidabili che sono state vendute fino alla fine degli anni '80.

Evoluta poiche' nel 1980 gia' aveva dell'elettronica. Ma per fortuna ancora x molti anni le hanno fatte con il timer. Queste di oggi un pianto. Cmq le philips mai piaciute.
Aveva un ritmo di lavaggio, più riscaldam a cesto fermo, fase in cui la biancheria restava in ammollo, che garantiva risultat di lavaggio eccellenti. Robusta, efficiente....come tutte le macchine d'un tempo, altro che la plastica elettronica odierna dalla durata programmata!
My Auntie up Newcastle had this model..Coloureds 60.. She'd always save a load specially if we visited and I'd sit glued to it through the whole program. It was as replaced by a Hoover Electron 1100 de luxe A3190.. My dream washing machine.. Thanks for the video memories...Im chuckling now as i'd hear my Auntie say " Eeeeeeeeeee.. where's Paul.."Me Mam saying" He'll be watching your washer!" 😂😂
Great video.. Quite like the look of the Computer Control 1100. Our neighbour had one at the time they were produced.. I used to love watching it progress through it's cycles.. We are lucky to have a Hoover Dryer de luxe Creaseguard D6152 and a Hoover Electron 1100 de luxe A3394 Eds washing machine. Still in excellent condition and working order. Hoover Who Better, Paul 😊
My grandmother had one of this model in the early 60's. In 1967 she bought a Burco Spin-a-rinse. The most unreliable one I've ever encountered. It rotted away in no time.
I managed to get my hands on one of these models two years ago.. Its still going strong.. Ideal for getting through all your wash in one go.. Starting off with your whites and cooling down to your coloureds.. I tend to sieve through the wash water to get rid if any bits of fluff etc between loads.. Can be abit time consuming due to having to stand over it but therapeutic in a strange kind of way if you have the time to do so..😊
