Dear Critical Rider, have you installed engine protection on your Tracer GT 2018? If so, which one did you choose? Just like you, I notice unsuccessful protection models that damage the frame. We need a normal protection with three points of support.
Beautiful protection. Friend, your link to this protection no longer works. Could you write the manufacturer and the protection model, as well as provide a part number or a link?
@@CriticalRider Are we confusing anything? This part number opens "Engine Guard, solid, black. For Yamaha MT-09/ABS, (RN29) 2013-2016". Is this exactly right for the Tracer GT 18-20?
Was the Tracer GT 2018-2020 supplied with such side trunks included, or was it still an additional option for a fee? I'm asking because I'm currently looking at an option on the secondary market and most of the GT's of these years are sold without side bags.
I have a question about your action at 4.39. Does the part come between the arm and the radiator? Or is nothing in between and everything on top of the arm?
Not sure what you mean by arm, but there is some foam inside the guard that sits between the guard and the radiator, so there's zero metal-to-metal contact.
Great video. I also had an FJR, that is also one of the reasons that I like these panniers, because they are very similar in size, shape and function to the ones on the FJR. They appear to be of a good quality and are reasonably priced. By the way these are the only panniers bike specific to the Kawasaki Z900 RS, as far as I am aware of.
Great review, I'm in the market for panniers for my 2021 Tracer 9 and it seems like SHAD are a great choice. They ælook good, are not too big and they are even a bit cheaper than GIVI. I really like that the mount it self are so well intergrated with the bike.
great vid. your bike is stunning. i have the shad SH48 top box with carbon cover on my honda NC750X . i am buying the SH36 panniers as well to match. so much better looking and less of messy scaffolding looking set ups on other makes. thank you
On the Akro dyno chart for this exhaust, it shows slightly more torque over 5,000 rpm but also slightly less torque at around 3 to 4,000 rpm. Is this noticeable when riding the bike?
Very helpful review on what is a great sport tourer. I bought the 2019 model this year, brand new old stock if that makes sense. I have to say I'm extremely happy with the bike even though I agree with a lot you've said especially the screen buffetting. This I found too much to bear so I added a screen extender, 100% improvement. The suspension I find pretty good but then I'm not a really hard rider. Overall a very capable bike and I know I've made the right choice. Yamaha almost, almost, got it right with this one. All the little tweaks that it needs have hopefully been addressed with the Tracer 9...!
My Tracer 700 2016 wobbles at around 180kmh and my 900 2018 also begins to wobble at around 180kmh. It sucks but it is what it is. I like to ride fast on the Autobahn and this happens almost every time I ride the bike. Also, the 900 is extremely loud. My head is right in the buffeting area on the 900. The 700 is a bit better in that regard. I tried to get rid of the wobbling by not riding with the panniers on both bikes but that doesn't help. On the 700 I can get rid of the wobble by leaning forward with my head and shoulders directly behind the wind screen. On the 900 I still haven't figured out how to get rid of it. So in my opinion your assumption that the wobble is related to fairings/windscreen, wait distribution and aerodynamics seems to be right. At least in my experience. I ride both bikes with the original windscreens. No aftermarket stuff.
I haven't installed on mine, so I don't have experience with it. Yamaha sells auxiliary lights so there must be a power connection available behind the lights - use that connection.
