Fishing Adventures- See what techniques and strategies I'm using to land fish off the shores of Silverwood Lake, etc. I use these fishing techniques at many lakes, targeting Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Trout, Catfish, the occasional Carp, etc. Please like my videos, subscribe, comment, as well as ask questions. I'm here to help you develop a passion for fishing, as well as develop mine! Thank you! My fishing blog is located at www.reeltimewithtimm.com which is a compilation of as many fishing sessions I can fit into a two week period of time. Follow me, to see my catches, as well as learn together. Are you dreaming of catching a lake monster? We can! Let's do this!!!
Have you tried the East End? I’ve been seeing anglers catching there because they have been stocking from the ramp. The water temps are good enough and the Trout action is heating up all over. The North shore is a guarantee with light line and Power bait or worms on a Carolina Rig. I’m hearing temps will be very cold soon, but hope you can get out in the next couple weeks and land some nice ones 🤙👊
Vista point turn out, Cleghorn turnout, Miller’s Canyon turnout, etc. You’re going to have to hike in from whenever you park. Hikes take 10-15 minutes. 🤙
Thanks Allen! I had bought this one from Turner’s, the brand is called Nomad. The fish pulled down so hard I thought it was bigger 😂. Fun times though!!! 🤙👊
Thanks man!!! I tried to navigate the back way (Highway 18) up there, but at the time part of the road had been closed. Do you think there’s any big Bass, or Trout? Just curious, as mostly I have only seen Trout. 🤙
@ReelTimeWithTimm big bear lake has channel catfish, blue catfish and bullhead catfish. The water gets too cold to support flathead catfish. The reports of flathead catfish are from people catching bullhead cats and thinking they are juvenile flats
@@corvette_jake7225 nice. Thanks for the info. I had thought there were blues. I believe a buddy said that they had stocked flatheads at one point, but I document have my info mixed up. Thanks!
Yes, sometimes I go past the marina to get into Silverwood. The wind picks up sometimes very quickly up there so the closer I can get to Miller’s Canyon, the better fishing.
@@allentucker4932 thanks Allen. My buddy had caught a nice one at 4.07 which looked pretty nice. At the end of our session, I pulled this one at 4.25. The bite was active as he pulled a 1.50, & I got a .25 😂 & one Striper. We went back thinking it would be just as nice last night and the bite seemed to shut down. I got a 1/2 lber. & a 2 3/4. Good times though hiking, fishing, wishing…. Hope you get out to Silverwood soon 🤙👊❤️🎣
Nice. Hope you do. I have one, but need a bit bigger reel to hold more lead core. This one is definitely a good reel though…. But thanks for checking my videos out. I usually fish from shore, but the troll has so much potential. Thanks! Add you name to the comments to be entered 🤙
What ever happened to Greg Silks? the guy that made the "Z-plug" way back when the AC Plug was never heard of outside of California. Silverwood was/is his home lake and he's one of the original (and still possibly only) underwater footage guys of big stripers aggressively chasing, swiping and getting pinned on (his) big wooden lures (at Silverwood). In fact there really wasn't a platform for him to share it with the public (that I can recall) around the time he took the footage. (Oldman ramblings recalling the Old Wild West Days Paragraph-- feel free to skip) There was barely an internet! I think his original motivation to even record the underwater footage was to dispel the rumors that he was trolling live rainbow trout. which it was a very commonly repeated suspicion that most shared like they were privy to some insider information. Because that's how word got spread in the stone ages- it was before the internet was even called the internet. I think the first few actual "units" we eventually learned were called "MODEMS" by the industry, were named the "Odyssey"(?) or "Galileo"? It definitely around the time IBM was the name brand for PC's everyone knew before anyone ever heard of Microsoft or before anyone had a chance to hear about Netscape because Microsoft stole their code and gave it away for free with their OS. Legally recognized about a decade later as anti competitive IP theft, with a settlement that was a fraction of what the (original internet browser) that Netscape was worth when it debuted in the mid 90's. (end of old man internet rant) They had better paint jobs than the AC and at least he marketed them honestly (?) designed as trolling lures.--- a method was said to be devised by local So Cal tournament anglers where they could effectively fish it without breaking the rules. They would cast it (or the AC) out as far as they could, then leave their spool disengaged so they could motor out in the direction that looked most promising for about an extra 50 to 100 yards, then stopped the boat just before they reengaged their spool and started reeling. I have no clue what the technique was called, today. I'm sure I did back then, but it's been so far off with very little in between that i've thought about the technique that I 'm not going to even put in the effort to remember or research it, for the time being at least. I leave it up to any diehards that want to be able to add it to their private folder of secret plays, to do that for themselves. Of course it would be a nice gesture to leave me a simple reply in return of a favor, if they do (before I might). They can always delete after I acknowledge reading it. HaHa!
Pretty cool bro! Using live Trout is for Sissy-La Las. 😂. I appreciate your detail about the AC plug l. I still have it, but I have never hit on it. The mysterious of the lure is probably where I got lost in trying to learn to use it. I landed a 17 lber. one time, and it was only because my friend had helped me enough to get to that point. You know fishing is about fishing, but other greater important things. If we can ever arrive at that point… Jerkbaits Rule 🤙 3 days later, a 15 lb showed up, and an 11. Shout out to all of you out there trying to better yourself, and especially if you’re fishing. I’ve been reminded several times that the biggest Striper will come out of Silverwood. It’s probably just a rumor. Shout out to Austin Montgomery for his sensational swimbaits. Also, Ken East’s Lures. Good luck!!🤙👊❤️🎣
@@ReelTimeWithTimm thank you good Sir! Thank you for keeping it all real because that's what it's always been about. Legendary experience and epic achievements that are too good for most of the undeserving posers to comprehend. They'll always be there. That's why we'll always be there to turn their myths into our reality. 🙏💪🇺🇸🤙❤️🔥🎣🎣🎣
Mojave narrows is a nice local fishing hole, and i like that it doesn't usually get as over crowded as Hesperia lake. It does require a state fishing license and that may be the reason why, plus they still charge entry and fishing fees at the gate. It was my second favorite fishing hole before jess ranch lakes closed down. Still not sure why jess ranch shut down, the pretty much shut the doors post covid and it doesn't look like they'll be reopening anytime soon. Anyhow back to mojave narrows, i like that these little lakes have good structure which makes for a fun fishing experience. Ive caught small bass and blue gill here, as well as trout during the stocking season. I don't care for catfish and borderline despise them, i hate that they stock them now during the summer months. But a lot of people like them, so to each their own. The only gripe i have about these lakes is that they have a large fish eating waterfowl population like pelicans, herrings, and a few others. I feel like the park allowed the population to outgrow what the lake can support, and for a time worked as a detriment to the fishery. Blue gill and even bass population declined, and basically when they would stock trout it became a big buffet for the birds... i didn't see too many birds your video, so maybe the park has finally done something about it, but it used to be pretty bad.
Nice! Thanks for sharing. Mojave Narrows is an awesome place to just hang out for the day too. Fishing only makes the experience much more enjoyable though. There are some very large bass in Horseshoe Lake, as well as catfish. They reside in the deeper areas, as well as in the middle of the lake, places not too accessible unless on a kayak. Hope you get out to fish soon. You’re right! Those birds do eat well. Thanks!
Thanks bro in so Cali! You’re definitely right. It was a nice cat fight on 8 lb fluorocarbon. There’s some good Striper in that area 🤙. Hope you get to a nice lake very soon!
