What ever happened to Greg Silks? the guy that made the "Z-plug" way back when the AC Plug was never heard of outside of California. Silverwood was/is his home lake and he's one of the original (and still possibly only) underwater footage guys of big stripers aggressively chasing, swiping and getting pinned on (his) big wooden lures (at Silverwood). In fact there really wasn't a platform for him to share it with the public (that I can recall) around the time he took the footage. (Oldman ramblings recalling the Old Wild West Days Paragraph-- feel free to skip) There was barely an internet! I think his original motivation to even record the underwater footage was to dispel the rumors that he was trolling live rainbow trout. which it was a very commonly repeated suspicion that most shared like they were privy to some insider information. Because that's how word got spread in the stone ages- it was before the internet was even called the internet. I think the first few actual "units" we eventually learned were called "MODEMS" by the industry, were named the "Odyssey"(?) or "Galileo"? It definitely around the time IBM was the name brand for PC's everyone knew before anyone ever heard of Microsoft or before anyone had a chance to hear about Netscape because Microsoft stole their code and gave it away for free with their OS. Legally recognized about a decade later as anti competitive IP theft, with a settlement that was a fraction of what the (original internet browser) that Netscape was worth when it debuted in the mid 90's. (end of old man internet rant) They had better paint jobs than the AC and at least he marketed them honestly (?) designed as trolling lures.--- a method was said to be devised by local So Cal tournament anglers where they could effectively fish it without breaking the rules. They would cast it (or the AC) out as far as they could, then leave their spool disengaged so they could motor out in the direction that looked most promising for about an extra 50 to 100 yards, then stopped the boat just before they reengaged their spool and started reeling. I have no clue what the technique was called, today. I'm sure I did back then, but it's been so far off with very little in between that i've thought about the technique that I 'm not going to even put in the effort to remember or research it, for the time being at least. I leave it up to any diehards that want to be able to add it to their private folder of secret plays, to do that for themselves. Of course it would be a nice gesture to leave me a simple reply in return of a favor, if they do (before I might). They can always delete after I acknowledge reading it. HaHa!

Pretty cool bro! Using live Trout is for Sissy-La Las. 😂. I appreciate your detail about the AC plug l. I still have it, but I have never hit on it. The mysterious of the lure is probably where I got lost in trying to learn to use it. I landed a 17 lber. one time, and it was only because my friend had helped me enough to get to that point. You know fishing is about fishing, but other greater important things. If we can ever arrive at that point… Jerkbaits Rule 🤙 3 days later, a 15 lb showed up, and an 11. Shout out to all of you out there trying to better yourself, and especially if you’re fishing. I’ve been reminded several times that the biggest Striper will come out of Silverwood. It’s probably just a rumor. Shout out to Austin Montgomery for his sensational swimbaits. Also, Ken East’s Lures. Good luck!!🤙👊❤️🎣

@@ReelTimeWithTimm thank you good Sir! Thank you for keeping it all real because that's what it's always been about. Legendary experience and epic achievements that are too good for most of the undeserving posers to comprehend. They'll always be there. That's why we'll always be there to turn their myths into our reality. 🙏💪🇺🇸🤙❤️‍🔥🎣🎣🎣
