Amazing book! Just wondering what fabric did you use for the beautiful polka dot lining for the parie collar sonny jacket? That’s pictured in the book?
I am a beginner and I’m making a pair of pajamas that I wanted the bottom edges of the top and the shorts to have a scalloped detail on them. To add something special. I have a Singer Heavy Duty 44S that I love and I have spent a great deal of time getting to know how to use it properly. The only thing is that I don’t seem to be able to get a proper scalloped edge. I don’t have a computerized machine so there’s no default to use to get the same look as yours. I just get single lines forming the scallop shape. Not the embroidered look. I don’t really know what settings I should use to get the proper results. I have the scallop stitch as a stitch choice so I should be able to do it. I’ve been practicing the stitch on the same project fabric not on the actual pajamas yet. But I really want to finish this project. I would really appreciate any suggestions you have.
I would like to sign up and get the PDF pattern. Your website shows the choice of the online course and the printed pattern or just the online course. Do I need to purchase the PDF pattern separately? Thank you.
Thank you for sharing but my problem is that I don't have a pattern much less being able to afford them. I usually use my own home made draft but sometimes it's very hard getting what I'm looking for. I don't have a credit card, so that's it. I sometimes try to copy a style which may or may not. Also my copying machine is only copying not downloading anything at all for me to print and put together. But thanks again for sharing. ❤❤❤❤❤
Look for sales. All patterns go on sale at times. I buy mine when they're usually $4.99 or so. Sometimes there are end of year sales too and I''ll buy several for around $2.
Thank you for all the tips. I started falling in love with this fabric when I realized I could take old baby swaddle blankets and turn them into summer pajamas for my kids. Now they love it too! However, now that they're older, I'm trying to make sure the pajamas will withstand the wear and tear. I've decided to try and french seam this latest batch of breathable sleepwear. My question is, since there's a fair amount of play in the fabric, should I still use a straight stitch, or would a zig zag be better, even though it's a french seam? Sorry if this is a silly question. I'm self taught on the machine, so I don't know a lot of the fundamentals that might be common knowledge to most.
Thank you I needed that. 3 months ago downsized from big house where had lot space. Special room to cut out in and sewing room with 3 desks, overlocker, sewing machine and embroidery machine. Now 1 desk for 3 machines and can't decide where to cut out. Guess I will get there.😢
