I remember hearing on the radio the day Jeff passed away. I was crushed for a long time. Sometimes there are artists that touch your soul and leave a mark, Jeff was one of the few! I felt so bad for his wife too. Jeff deserves much more recognition than he ever got.
SRV's grin when Jeff jumped up! Wow! Both of them fronted trios for much of their career so it's cool to see them lovin' playing rhythm under someone else's solo. Respect!
I saw Jeff Healey perform at a small venue in his later years and he did at least a quarter of the performance on the trumpet… at a certain point in his career he just decided he wanted to learn a new instrument for funsies so he picked up a trumpet, decided he liked it, and got to performance-level skill with it within like a year or two. Truly an incredible talent! He is missed…
