Ok 80k is usually just starting to get broke in. Come back around 150k and let us know how good she's doing. Hey just wondering because I've heard the same thing that u said. That there's this there's that gonna go wrong with them. Blah! blah! blah! So if it's still purring at 150k then yeah I would say there a good solid car. But Toyotas should be able to get endless miles on them if taken care of like u said.
I vote DIY It's good to figure out whether you enjoy doing color work or if you don't have a taste for it and prefer to have it done elsewhere I personally enjoy it but am still not very skilled at it 😂
For the door stoppers, you can purchase the door stopper on the 2023 brz and swap them out with yours, it’ll hold open completely on uphill or level ground and wind, part number is 61124CC000 about 35 each side just gotta do some labor on the car but completely worth it to fix that issue
Don’t waste time changing plugs at 80. I changed mine at about 160 and they looked fine. Then again at 270. Again fine. One coil pack went bad at 275 and that was probably because I just took it off when I changed the plugs. Otherwise it probably would have been fine. If you’re not racing these things, they are solid. Just keep up with the fluid changes. That’s most important. I’m at 287 now. All is well.
The mpg on these things is wild to me. People really say “on my 370 can get 27 if I baby it but I’ve gotten 37 in my 2013 babying it. Highway I consistently get 30mpg+ and city getting 22 is real nice
Actually as low as I can go for real driving lol, when I’m cornering very hard I barely rub tire. It’s currently setup for a good mix of function and stance.
I love this car purely for looks and potential with mods. Is a car that'll ever be seen street racing? No, but with some small cosmetic modifications and a little work under the hood it can be a super fun can. Working on getting a AWD sports coupe or sedan first but once I'm settled ill have one of the trio. (Mostly looking at the FRS in the orange or the GR86 in red)
@Casey__Jones it'll be within the next few years. Working on getting an Infiniti Q60 first to daily and then I'll get the FRS or GR86 once that's paid off
Have you thought about making mounts for the dash speakers? As far as I'm aware, only the JBL speaker upgrade came with the midrange speakers but all cars have the mounts for it.
Mans said “No problems” and proceeded to say the car has “throw out bearing problems”that go out prematurely often in these cars 😭 give it 20k more miles you’ll be replacing the premature worn head gasket that’s if you don’t throw a crank bearing from the oil being a little too synthetic
the rei ayanami chain in ur car is causing this issue, i had a friend with a rei ayanami sticker and his breaks failed on the highway exit ramp, no hes a wheelchair man
The Scion frs is basically a Subaru and a Toyota, if the ac is Subarus design then I may also have the same issue. What I found I needed was a new ac compressor clutch. But I think I went overkill replacing the whole assembly
