Oresrush is my favorite town in the game because almost every character is named and has some relation to Partitio so it makes them feel way more special. Their relationship is also really nice. Another neat touch is that everyone has a silver coin that they wont part with which is small but it makes me feel like its some sort of charm or something.
Started the game off as Oswald. He had EVERYTHING taken from him due to an Envious Harvey and sets the darker tones of the game (which I like personally like). I don’t regret that decision AT ALL after the final Chapter. All he needed to Perfect the Art he was seeking was not by formulas, but by the Emotional Instinct a Father needs to protect his family.
I did everything in my power to avoid spoilers for this fight. Went in blind and God I was hoping that all 8 would fight together. When I saw that message I was standing while fighting this guy.
Harvey, while not the deepest antagonist, is definitely the most entertaining. He’s like the RPG version of Reverse Flash, taking every opportunity to inconvenience one person and relishing in how evil he is. Plus his voice work in both EN and JP are top tier.
The sense of joy I got from managing to create and absolutely tear Galdera apart with my own strat after struggling the first time is one I will RELISH in Phase 1 with Warrior Ochette, Conjurer Hikari, Warrior Osvald for Fire Stack, and Cleric Castti managed to eat away enough for me to brutalize with Shinjumonjigiri with Hikari. Then in phase 2 ran Armsmaster Throne as my main DPS with Alpione’s and Fang of Ferocity. 2x Aeber’s to destroy the segments (with an Aelfrics from Partitio) and then 2x Aeber’s on main body + 1 Lionhearts Axe. GOD it was so fun. I doubt my strat is original and others have probably done it better and more optimized but to see this mind numbing boss get crushed without following any guides is a whole new Euphoria I’ll never get over. I love Octopath.
This chapter broke me. I couldn't move away for hours, and just had to get it all out by writing. Castti really took my expectations and slapped me with it
This sounds like the epic theme for a grand final dungeon before the end of the game but then it turned out to be nothing more than a single staircase to the top. Really wish there was more stuff in Vidania, if only for an excuse to hear this song longer.
I swear the devs must've took notes from xenoblade when they decided to give the flute themes to Noah 2.0.. and I’m fucking that they did. I fucking love Hikari.
Not especially dissimilar to Yoko Kanno's "Wild Wind" from the supremely obscure Dreamcast J-only platformer Napple Tale. Hard not to wonder if coincidental, especially given the similar title.
If i had a nickel every time a blue-ish colored healer class had 2 different versions of their themes, I'd have 3 nickels, which isnt a lot, but its weird it happened thrice
