HI, I did years of research ...and the original lyrics were written about 570 BCE during the era of Babylonian King Belshazzar, likely in abramic language . And likely he tasked Daniel his Chief Prefect with the task to write some entertainment song ( original song unknown ) in today's Iraq. Most likely Daniel disseminated the task through Shadrach, Meshach and/or Abednego and down to the psalmist muzicians. fast forward : The Meloddians recorded it in Y1970 in Queens English in NKJV and popularized by Boney M in Y1978
