Were the decals the new Eduard ones with the removable cover film? It is a pain but it is possible to remove the cover film. A quick search here on RU-vid will find various ways of removing. I’ve had success with using white spirit.

Grand job, I have this in my stash along with the Pink Panther, and the LRDG Chevy Truck. Working on the scene I'll be placing it in before I build them. I will say yours still looked too green to me (please don't be offended at that) If you watch Rogue Heroes Paddy Mayne etched numbers into his Jeep and there was a metal colour under the sand colour, I've had the idea of a aloy base coat so when I scratch into it I get the same or similar effect. Then I'll add some Olive Drab very thinly to the edges of the chipping to give that 3d 3 colour effect. Love the build of the base as well... Nice build... And remember Sterling may have founded the SAS, but it was and Irish man who made it what it was. Sterling was captured in Jan 1943 Mayne took over as commander and turned in into the effective fighting force it was...
No offense taken, my view is that Rogue Heroes is a TV show. The picture refs I had of the vehicles are all black and white so its open to interpretation for me at least. However, one of the pictures which shows a jeep from the front the bumper chipping is very dark in colour, hence I was happy with my choice. I will agree in the pictures the green tones do come out a bit. I did try some chipping using metallic colours and I found it very unrealistic looking. But its all personal choice. Hi Dan, I've built the Patrick Snijers winning M3 from the 1988 Manx Rally. Luckily I was there watching that fantastic rally. The Beemax kit is of course based on a track car so the ride height is too low for a tarmac rally car. I modified this to raise it a little. The oil cooler and extinguisher are also removed from the underside. The side exit exhaust sits where the bottle is. These cars ran 17" wheels on the rear and 16" on the front. Not so obvious but KMP do an excellent set of these 5 spoke Speedlines that are much more accurate. It looks so much better. I've also added the spot lamps to the front bumper (from an Escort Cossie kit)
The rally boxings do have higher suspension than the track boxings, the track cars are very slammed as all the top of the tyre is inside the arches, but in some pictures the ToughMac cars is a mm higher again. I do have set of the KMP wheels for another build at some point. But regardless, thanks for watching, and hopefully there will a few more Irish tarmac cars in the future from me.

C'est bon pour le montage et la mise en peinture. Par contre il et trop neuf et la peinture et encore trop brillante .Il mérite un travail de mise sur le terrain actifs pour le rendre magnifique.

Pretty good job, Dan. Pity about the silvering-one way to deal with this is to smear some Tamiya Extra Thin on the offending areas to dissolve them. Go easy on the amount as you don't want to dissolve the paint, but I've found it an effective way to mostly fix the problem. To avoid the issue, always apply a gloss clear coat before you apply the decals.
Gloss coat is not needed in my opinion. Have done both over the years and silvering will occur with both. My suspicion is silvering is caused by lack of adhesive.
Nice job Dan, don't beat yourself up over the decals, they don't look that bad! I do find that a gloss clear coat helps when decaling over water/alcohol based acrylics but not necessary over laquers when sprayed wet. Anyway good to see a plane again even if it was large scale!Take care man.
Thanks Worden. I've not done a gloss before decals for many years, and put decals down over many surfaces and paints. I personally think silvering is just where the decals adhesive is lacking. I will be experimenting with Tamiya decals adhesive and UMP decal fix soon to gain some more data.

Thanks Philip, I couldn't say with certainty how long, but I know from the footage I had about 15-20 hours of video to edit. This is about normal for a car kit. So I would class it as especially long.
Where did you get the photocopy of the carbon fibre decal sheet for the Toyota ? I’m starting mine soon and would really come in handy Great channel btw

Yep, it's a good kit and great value, decals are not brilliant and require work so give it plenty of heat and decals solutions - otherwise you shouldn't go wrong with it.

Never knew such a plane existed, best part of this hobby sometimes is discovering new things you didn't know had a 1:1 equivalent. Looks like you made the best of a mediocre kit, I like how it turned out. Thanks for sharing your hard work!
It seemed that you didn't use a gloss coat before the decal application step. Did you get much in the way of decal silvering, applying the decals to a flat paint finish?
