Yes, you do. The body should be primed and painted.

Body is primed in UMP White primer, and for the decals I used UMP Decal softeners (Normal and Strong).

Hi there, the airbrush I use depends on what I am doing. I have 7 in total. I use a UMP Apex 0.35 for Acrylic Primer, UMP Apex 0.35 for Lacquer Metallics, UMP Apex 0.35 for 2K Clear. H&S Inifinity 0.4 for Lacquer Colour, H&S Infinity 0.15 for detail painting, 2 Iwata Neos for other general Acrylic work.

Yep, it's a good kit and great value, decals are not brilliant and require work so give it plenty of heat and decals solutions - otherwise you shouldn't go wrong with it.
