I make videos about a variety of things that will hopefully put a smile on your face. Usually I talk about video games, sometimes I discuss technology and other times I ramble about life.
Chicken invaders is one of my favorites! It's in number one, if you don't know what are top 3s I'll tell ya 1) Chicken Invaders 2) Sonic Adventure 3) Classic Wonderland Trilogy
Well many people did buy multiple variations of the Nintendo DS. Black and White in North America were relased a few weeks before the 3DS so a few people did technically have 2 DS systems.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. Shout out to Jamirus for the excellent walkthrough/breeding guide, there's no way I'd be able to breed all of the boss monsters without his sage wisdom!
I wonder if many of these game wouldn't feel much better if they could be played at a more modest 3:2 ratio. It would be the equivalent of 13.5:9, an improvement over 4:3 (12:9) many of the pop-ins would be out of sight and it would bring many 16bit games in line with the GBA aspect ratio. Add to that the possibility of custom borders, and you'd have a very compelling way to play retro games on a widescreen display...
It's genuinely amazing how ABYSMAL the combat is in this game. Like, it's actually impressive; for some reason they decided "the player should be a glorified spectator who has little to zero impact on the battle, and literally every battle should be determined ENTIRELY by RNG". I swear, video game developers are the dumbest people on the planet.
Yesterday I was hit with a sudden flashback of this game. Quick google and hallelujah! Thanks for the vid :) I played this game back when I didn't really know any English so it was the most mindless fun ever. Thank God my parents didn't care what I was playing ;D Also just a side note - you can actually download this game pretty easily. No need to track a physical copy.
i always had mixed feelings about 2, i loved the more realistic setting of 1 and 2 go nuts right away with parallel dimensions, eldritch gods and ancient spirits between other stuff + stuff added in the remake. which makes sense in the context of SRW and it was always hinted in the first one but the jump it's a little jarring for me, that being said, from all OG games this one pulls it more organically than most. for me the series peaked here, Gaiden was ok, 2nd was a mess and moon dwellers was alright, it's hard to handle several crossovers in a game without breaking the plot or pushing away the first batch of characters... i still want them to make the final game tho, i need closure.
I'm playing the game right now I got it on GOG it crashes a lot and the levels in the game bore me a lot I also can't believe how small enemy hit boxes are in this game I'll use the speargun and Miss like five times the setting in painkiller just doesn't feel like purgatory to me it is too campy and it refuses to choose what it wants to be
I always loved this game. For some reason, I keep it up there with crono trigger and earthbound and links awakening in my head. Simply one of the best 2d games ever imo. The music and graphics alone are unique and great enough to merit that kind of regard.
What a strange game! I love when Nintendo takes a chance publishing new IPs just to give it a shot and see what happens. The game is graphically pretty nice looking from the youtube videos, and the cinematic shots in the cutscenes are pretty nice. Overall looks like a strange game! But neat!
It's a rough gem that makes me scratch my head sometimes, but it definitely has heart and I wish it and Pandora's Tower were brought back in some way. Also, thank you again for your very generous Super Thanks. I really appreciate it!
there was a emulator like bsnes/gx wide for nes (no not anese, this actually forces the aspect ratio to be 16:9) called retro enhancer but its not downloadable and cancelled
I could never touch the GBA port, it just doesn't seem like it would fit. Part of the appeal of Tony is that he's a bit of a casual cool guy. He has some wit, some good sense, and a lot of aimlessness. He's just a stranger in a strange world and nearly everything he touches turns to ash. You don't want some monkey-faced shonen protagonist to whoopsie doodle his way into having a hand in destroying the world.
The second and third slots aren't initially available, you need to progress through the story a bit. After that, you open the party menu (B button), then choose the top option, and then the second icon (it shows a blue and red animal) to swap party members.
How time flies. I remember when it came out on the Wii. Got it quickly afterwards, played it for like 20 minutes and told myself "this will be awesome for your next vacation!" ... never touched it again in over a decade. 😅
This game is one of my favorites of all time and it's truly special to me. It resonates with me in a way no other game has managed to do. It even ended up teaching me a life lesson: A dream isn't what others set out for you, a dream is what you make of it.
You can hold Tab + Right click to make de dog rushes trough the enemies dragging them with him.. its very good when you can't use the dog in active, and need to keep distance.. I'm playing now as a wizard, and this is helping me a lot!
It sucks that the DLC is only good for the multiplayer and that simulation mode still has a bug that hasn't been fixed in years. Otherwise I would definitely play this game though I did forget about it years ago but at least it exists and it has some of that super robot wars soul implanted into it..... I am not surprised that 1 of the DLC units is the main character's unit but as a hot anime girl lol.
Any way we can get widescreen emulators going for widescreen retro handhelds with low pixel density? This would fix the blurry interpolation when playing in correct aspect ratio
The SNES and MegaDrive ones are available as cores for RetroArch, so it's just a matter of installing them. The NES and Gameboy ones would need to be recompiled for Linux/Android though.
@@MerryBytes thank you for the reply. Would there need to be significant processing power in the handheld in order to support it if we assume the recompilation would be successful?
This was a great breakdown of the work being done to make this kind of stuff a reality! I have personally made around 100 videos since 2010 showing what retro games would look like in full HD. They push the boundaries much further than what the emulators are shown doing here, but it’s purely artistic and definitely not playable.
i got this in my recommendations after watching the Xbox Showcase actually crazy how much Xbox has degraded they would never make such a charming game today
I respect the lack of criticism when comparing the 2, i didnt see it prior but they do serve those 2 purposes. Unfortunately i also dont want cactus in my eyes so i will try reforged out of the 2 lol
