This is hands-down the best Serious Sam 2 review I've seen. Your insight to smaller details is superb, I never realized the rocket launcher explosion graphic was too small compared to its impact, that explains a lot. You've also broken down the differences between Sam 2 and the classic games flawlessly. Great stuff once again, MerryBytes!
So interesting, I played serious sam but didn't get very far into it. It was a fun silly little romp, but I really liked this analysis of the gameplay and mechanics. Nice video! Fun to see an FPS dissected like this.
Just begun replaying it last week lol, it was always my personal favorite, i liked the cartoony worlds and nonsense plot. All tho it ends up feeling a bit bloated, especially in the encounter design. There is only a limited amount of single enemy spam i am willing to tolerate.
I'll always admire the scale and ambition of Serious Sam 2. I don't even mind the cartoony look so much, but the gameplay feels sloppier than TFE/TSE. Can't say anything bad about the music though, Damjan Mravunac always nails it
