Byron Grobler navigates the African wilderness in search of unique wildlife encounters and answers from Earth's greatest teacher - Nature. WildWild Journeys documents all the highs and lows along the way.
2024 brings with it an exciting series of journeys. "New wild places are calling and it's time to listen. There's more to find out."
Hi byron. We are going to Pilansberg friday and we wanna know if you can maybe tell us wich is the best road to drive (from Pta) and wich gate would be the best to go in sorry i know this is a weird question but i know that you have been there before😄 im also looking forward to the video about the place you were a few weeks ago and posted the 5 pictures of!🎉
I have been watching your channel and would like to thank you for sharing your amazing experience and your thoughts and feelings which shows your love for wildlife and country. I’m travelling to South Africa with Kruger included, ticking off a life long bucket list. ❤
I enjoy your wise commentary and choice of background music - not to mention your good photography. As an old man in exile (I emigrated to NZ decades ago) I constantly yearn for that lost wildness. Thanks for guiding me so well through my lost world.
We absolutely loved your story. We were at Kruger 2 week's ago and watching your excellent footage made us yearn to go back. Love your sayings, so much we relate to. Excellent... total viewing and words for the soul. Thank you! Look forward to seeing more ❤
What an amazing video, congrats. Any recommendations on what route to take inside Pilanesberg National Park to have the best chance of big 5 sightings during a self drive safari. Visiting there next week so your inputs would be very helpful. Thanks.
Thank you. I haven’t been in a while so not too sure what’s happening sightings wise at the moment. But generally the whole central area of the park is great, especially for big 5.. hope that helps a little! Enjoy it
@@WildWildJourneys Thank you. We are returning in November for 25 days. I film with a Canon R3 , go pro 11 , iPhone 15 and now have just bought the amazing Osmo 3 hand held camera….The quality of your video is stunning…can I ask what equipment you use?
@@BETTERPHOTOGRAPHYCHANNEL that sounds like a great setup. That osmo 3 looks amazing. I’m shooting with: Canon R6 Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 III Canon 100-500mm RF Canon 16-35mm f2.8 iPhone 14 Pro Rhode VideoMic Go II DJI Action 3 DJI wireless Mic
@@WildWildJourneys Thank you.. you are really getting the best from your equipment. Looking forward to further episodes… enjoying learning from your videos.
Incidentally the Osmo 3 is stunning!...So many great features to mention but so lightweight, intuitive and a microphone that automatically hooks up with the camera when you switch on giving super sound quality. Well worth the investment!. I have the 70-200.f2.8 mkII on my CanOn 5d mk 3 for close up shots....I love my 70-200......and I have just swapped my Canon 500mm f/4 prime to the Canon 100-500 f/4 RF. Much lighter to carry and the quality is exceptional.
I live overseas and haven't been to the Kruger for 24 years. You have a special talent Byron. The filming was superb. Would have enjoyed a longer duration and filming at camps like Timbavati
Love you to bits boykie. You're an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to. When you get emotionally it causes the flood gates to open. You are such an emotionally and caring person and we love you for that. Thanks for being YOU! Love you!
I've been following you just recently but I've also already seen many of your videos and I can tell you one thing: you are made for this, Byron. Your narrative and storytelling is great, cohesive and very relaxing. You not only record magnificent videos but you do a fantastic job editing them and putting the pieces together. Hope to see many more in the future! Greetings from Spain :)
HI Byron im watching this once again coz you're content is like so amazing haha i also would like to know how you keep the camera like so stable while getting footage?
Good to hear, thank you! I’m shooting mostly handheld. I seem to have a steady hand. The in camera stabilizer, lens stabilizer and stabilizing in editing seems to all work well together
We visit Kruger as aften as we can - at least twice every year. So sitting in my lounge on a rainy Saturday afternoon is like visiting happy memories with you. So lovely.
What a wide variety of animals you clicked. I loved all of the birds. From the little kingfisher to the big Secretary bird! I never knew black martens exist in the Parks. What a surprise! You are excellent at your job. Thank you Byron.
Awesome !!!. Am I not seeing it but I would like you to tell us what Season/ Month you do your trips. Either way they are outstanding accounts of what each trip has to offer
@WildWild Journeys Dear friend wild wild journeys, the comment here I sent to see is that is said “When you go to Africa’s other countries that I’ve mentioned earlier including (Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar and Democratic republic of the Congo) can you film and list of these iconic animals from there such as the savanna elephants of Kenya’s Samburu, Tsavo and Amboseli, Tanzania’s lake manyara, ngorongoro crater, serengeti and tarangire, Dian Fossey’s mountain gorillas (gorilla beringei beringei) of Congo’s virunga national park, Uganda’s Mgahinga gorilla national park and nkuringo sector of Bwindi impenetrable forest and Rwanda’s volcanoes national park, Jane Goodall’s chimpanzees of Tanzania’s Gombe stream, Issa valley and mahale mountains and Uganda’s budongo and kibale forest and kyambura gorge, hamadryas baboons of Ethiopia’s Awash national park and geladas of Ethiopia’s simien mountains and more of Africa’s mammals and birds?
Byron, what a stunning video! I’m a few weeks late to watch but had a big smile on my face as your video played. Your footage of the lions was just breathtaking, makes me want to get back out on safari very soon. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful and thanks Wildwild Journeys. One more thing, can you please do further and future African wildlife in Eastern and Southeastern Africa (Including in Rwanda, Uganda, Madagascar, Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia and Tanzania) with their national parks?
Thank you. I’d love to visit all these places and more as soon as I can - working on it for sure. Tomorrow I leave for a special trip to Mana Pools, Zimbabwe. Can’t wait
