Byron takes a solo one-day self drive safari in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa. What was intended on being a creative 'test' trip for WildWild Journeys, turned into an episode on its own!
A note on the Black Rhino charge: I am well aware of the ongoing rhino poaching crisis and that specific locations should never be shared. It is common knowledge that there are Rhinos in Pilanesberg, and this video in no way puts any rhinos at risk. The goal is to educate and help people connect with nature through these videos and experiences and maybe even inspire some to visit not only Africa but any piece of nature near them.

Great video showcasing some of the very special wildlife in South Africa - and so close to home in Johannesburg! Loved mention of the bush-drive greetings, and the spoor-tracking tips! Really felt like we were on the journey with you, waiting on the ellies, following them and trying to predict where they're moving... incredibly special sighting of the black rhino (I don't remember when I last saw some of these guys) - loved the drama of the interaction, even the other guy driving off wildly! Beautiful ending with the ellies, specially the teeny baba! Thanks for sharing this game drive with us, along with your great explanations, insights and knowledge of the bush. What a gift!

Great video! We got charged by a blackie in Karoo NP on our very first trip to SA way back in 2010 except he didn’t stop and we had to stomp on the gas. We were hooked and seven trips later we just can’t get enough.

Thank you! What an experience it must’ve been to be charged like that. Words just can’t describe that feeling, right?! Glad it has lead to more memories and hopefully more to come!

Also major fan since 1980. Great to see how the elephant population increased sons & daughters of Amarula my favorite elephant several close calls but also gave him great respect . All those bulls brought in to bring the young bulls into line have now passed miss them.

The elephant story there is very interesting. Also had the privilege of spending time Amarula before he sadly passed. Those Kruger bulls have certainly got many sons and daughters carrying on their legacies! Do you still visit?

Just back.from 10 day trip with family member from UK. First day , saw Cheetah , Leopard , Lions Mating Lot of Elephants, Rhino, our best sighting was Cheetah on Kill by Mankwe Dam the female who lost her calf tried several times to push the Cheetahs off the kill but no luck. The Cheetahs ate but then something never seen before in all our visits . Two Crocs came out of the dam and stole it off the Cheetah . We spent over 2 hours watching this drama unfold . Our family member was so lucky to see this drama on his first ever visit to both Country & Park. We never seen anything like this since our first visit in 1980. Love this Park .

Me and my fiance where absolutely histarical when you did the bit of how to wave on Safari As I am the one who gets over excited when waving and she is the one who acts like she is spotting something and your presentation was on point😂😂

@@WildWildJourneys the stop and have a conversation one usualy causes a traffic jam cause people think you have a sighting. General safari rule, if there is more than kne car stopped check to see if they are not looking at a leopard... Looking forward to the Kruger episodes
