Hi there! Genius mod. Are you still using it? If you are, may I ask how it has held up over the years? I’m looking into doing this myself and wanted to see how strong it is before I purchase the parts
I just found these videos of yours and I have to say I'm quite impressed.. You've really put a lot of thought into these additions and designs. I have the same vehicle and live on the road out of my jeep spending the summers camping and winters snowboarding. I'd love to get your input about possibly adding many of these mods into my WK2. Let me know if you still have/use all these additions (tire cary, roof rack and tent, internal slide organizer and lift, water pump, etc.)
Amazing video! kaungka Cargo Cover for 11-17 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trunk Shielding Shade 2018 2019 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Black (Not Fit for Jeep Cherokee)
The Kuat actually has a hitch receiver so all you need is a hitch bike rack and you just attach it to the Kuat the same way you would attach it to a hitch. Hope that helps.
Well done video and design work! I am interested in knowing where you obtained the steel wheel you're using for the spare on your wk2. I want to use a full size spare instead of the donut spare that came with the vehicle. Thanks - James
Hey Totis this is really cool! I'm just researching for my GC Overland fitout and yours popped up. This is the best as it does allow the spare to stay insitu if you can't afford the hefty spare carrier outside (Aussie market is nuts expensive atm)
Nicely done. An upgrade would be to install a sending unit in the tank and connect it to a water Gauge so you can see the water level. I built a similar system for my 2018 wk2 with a 10 gal tank.
I'm curious how the tire rack is holding up. Have you noticed the hinge wearing out? I want to get a fifth wheel and tire to match and mount on the back and am curious how this handles the weight. Great job
I don't keep it mounted permanently, I only use it for trips so I don't put a ton of use on it. That being said, I don't see it being a problem. The only time the hinge is weighted is when it is open, not while driving. As long as you stay within the weight rating of whatever hinge you use it should last as long as you need it too.
Hey mate, I am thinking of doing the same thing but with a drawer system, as well as keeping the spare tire where it is. Is there any possible ideas on how I can do it?
I love this solution, I was looking for a way to use the Pivot with a spare and then a bike rack, hadn't thought about welding on the spare to the Pivot. Do you have a link to the spare carrier, I don't see it on Amazon, thanks to much.
@@CM-fe6to Do you think you could weld on the lower part and still leave the vertical part so it could be removed? I would sometimes want to use the pivot on my jeep and the existing spare on the back door would be incompatible with the upright. Thanks for your thoughts!
Absolutely love this, and it's relatively inexpensive to boot. Can you throw me a link to the harness that you used for your power, it's the only bit I haven't been able to find online 🙏
