There a few "Juniors" in the early 2000 years. About the same body size, but full depth. An Anniversary, a Country Gent Jr and Nashville Jr. They each had the unwieldy numerical thing too. But they were COOL guitars!
Hello!! Does the melody you play in the first comparison have a name? Is it yours or is it from some other musician, I really like that melody, thank you
I worked at a music shop for many years. I sold both of these models countless times. I can say without a doubt that the Yamaha blows that fender out of the water. I’m a lifelong fender guy but it’s undeniable. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 30 years and I still play an fs800. It’s my go to song writer.
57 classic pickups are the best pickups ever made hands down. Mostly found in Gibson 335’s and 61 reissue SG’s and in any player who isn’t a shredder. Lol
I just got 2224 of the JV mod 60s Stratocaster, and it was setup and played twice. Not a scratch on it. I'm happy with the feel of the guitar and neck. I have 2 Corona California US models and love them too. Stratocasters are a work of art. The Performer that's modified has rear locking tuners from Fender. Large headstock. Same with the 60s JV mod
The 800 sounds just fine and I wouldn't be worried too much if it got a little beaten up. Just play and enjoy it then leave it in the corner of your room. The FG5 on the other hand has a sweeter quality sound but at that price point I would be very careful and protective of it. Back in its case every time and don't let the kids anywhere near it !
I've had mine since it came out. I set it up with Martin monels, and it plays so much easier than other Brands solid top dreadnought guitars that cost twice as much.
I’ve owned a Blues Jr and have just bought an LT25. If you want something to match a Blues Jr - then it’s a Blues Jr 🙂 If you want something that will sound like a Blues Jr and that’s good enough - and can sound like lots of other things then the LT25. However they’re a completely different intent.
I just "happened into" ownership of an H-535 and I am quite impressed. Always owned Gibsons, and love them, but was always looking for an excuse to try a Heritage out and see what it/they had to offer. I'm still getting familiar with it but as I tweak and play it's getting to be more and more a go-to guitar. I have a beautiful Yamaha SA2200 to compare it to and it really holds its own against that bad boy which is saying a lot. My dream Gibson ES-335 guitar might have to wait a couple more years. Or, I may never need. What a beautiful guitar. Great playing, per usual Cooper.
I don't know if its your amp setting but horribly spiking in a nasty high frequency,, Not sure about this one,,, honestly the worst sounding Noiseless I've ever heard... at least in this demo Playing is always great but if this is the sound that Fender is promoting then they are losing with the newer guitars, OVER 2K!!!!! For now I'll pass.. Maybe you should listen to this demo and maybe have a do over.. Very disappointing
I buy guitars and after a while I sell them and then regret it. So I relic my guitars, knowing that they will be hard to sell, that way I have no regrets. ❤️🎸.
The pickguard is some laminate over their regular black plastic. Some people have used a heat gun to peel off the laminate. I have an FG5, and I hardly ever think about the pickguard. I got mine with a great discount after asking for a quote from my Sweetwater rep. I highly encourage contacting retailers for quotes on guitars before buying. I've been doing it since I was a teen in the 90s. I'd check out an FG5 before buying a D-18. They're a bit different, but some of us prefer the Yamaha's sound and certainly don't mind saving a bunch of money.

Honestly hate how he just runs scales in all his demos
