The 7.3 was a very under stressed engine and in my opinion after driving semi for close to 45 years and being in the industry all my life that is the biggest factor besides maintenance in longevity, there’s a reason the price of a factory warranty from Cummins goes up in price the higher the power setting/rating on a specific engine like the ISX 15 for example the warranty price between a 425 and a 500 is huge

Idk why maybe its just me but doesn’t matter what tune I put on mine from ezlink my transmission seems to shift hard is that normal? It almost seems like its way to hard at full throttle almost like something is going to break… the only one that doesnt shift hard is if i put the transmission back to OEM.
I just got handed down the family 7.3 farm truck and I couldn’t love it more but I’ve been looking on how to better the truck and I’m glad I found this channel. And you’re an Aggie so that makes it better haha. Thanks man class of 21
Good video, these truck are not meant to be a zero to 60 truck. In my opinion the " performance modes" just give a higher likleyhood of ruining something prematurely. They're meant to be efficient as a work horse. If it shifts good and solid and holds around 2k rpm range at 70, she's doing just fine. I'm not saying you're wrong, that's just my opinion. I do think there is a great benefit to the tuners from a towing stand point. No argument there.

Hey power stroke central. How come no mention of the 5.9 Cummins in the earlier Dodges. (90 to 93) A lot of people I know make a million miles with those engines. I don't agree with that statement that garage manager made about not changing transmission fluid. I drop my transmission pan every 40,000 miles, change the filter and top up with fluid. I have 560,000 miles on my "93 Dodge and that transmission is still working perfectly. I have done a lot of towing. Sorry, I can't say I am impressed with this video.

What about power flushing the transmission the Dodge dealership power flushes the transformation while it's running which gets the junk out of the torque converter which is all the matter you need to get the torque converter clean that makes sense to me and I'm a diesel mechanic for 50 years oil is a cheap mechanic
Do go out and roll coal. You pay good money for the fuel you put in your tank, is not a good idea send it out the tailpipe "unburnt". Unburned fuel is fuel that didn't make you any power.
