Just discovered this excellent channel and just subscribed. When do you fertilize and what fertilizer do you use for peach trees? You mentioned you are in Texas, how often do you water your peach trees?
i believe i may have messed up planting my peach tree, its about 4 .5ft tall and its not getting any taller, its been some months. what i didnt do is plant higher up to the surface, nor did i use native soil, all store soil. Now im having the problem of the leaves turning orange and falling off. Is it too late to re-plant and try to help my roots adapt before winter hits?
The best time to plant or prune fruit trees, is when you have the time. I've practiced this for around 45 years, works great. People make it harder than GOD intended.
Thank you so much for all this information, feeling inspired! And so I by was gifted a baby peach tree in early May and I put it in the ground but think I neglected , I didn’t even mulch the area, it still doesn’t have any leaves and hasn’t grown. Ask for a refund and hope for the best?
A live in a very suburban area where there are no stores nearby that carry quail feed. There is a nearby Wal-Mart that has chicken feed, but that's not near enough protein, especially for young quail. So I have to make a long drive to a Tractor Supply Co further out in a more rural area. At least they have large bags so I don't have to make the drive often. There are other stores nearby where I can get meal worms and cracked corn and millet and other things to supplement the feed, but that game bird feed is a haul for me to get...
i use a tarp, 6 mil thick, cut cross where i want tomato, pepper, cucumber and a few other plants, mulch around the planting spot, this is first year on thick one, nothing has poked through yet. tomato plants 7 to 8 ft. high and loaded with tomatoes, everything doing great. corn and squash i plant on uncovered space. i planted corn in mid feb(in central alabama) had some times where weather got cold but where my tarp was, i had just rolled it back, when it got cold i rolled it over the area my corn planted, unrolled when temp went up. it worked good this first time, just last week, picked my corn and then pulled stalks up and fed to cows, first week of june. about to till that area up again and plant some more squash, might get some collards going.
Last october i put 5 peach pit seeds in the fridge on a wet paper towel etc. Come jan, 1 seed was rooting. A month later, 3 more were. 1 didnt sprout. 1 died after a month. The remaining 3 are big and strong. 32" last measurement. 2 are straight stemmed and 1 has 2 branches growing out. This fall i will plant them in the ground.
I didn't know that beefsteaks come in different varieties; I thought beefsteak WAS the variety. And I didn't know there were both determinate and indeterminate varieties. So I don't know if they will vine & grow 10' tall, or stay short & manageable 😢.
By cutting the top off that Young WEAK tree in that time of the year instead of the winter you just cut it wide open for bugs and diseases to INSTANTLY kill that tree. Smh. All that planning work to RUIN it in seconds
I bought a earligrande peach tree on clearance. it was 4ft tall with yellow limp leaves but had 3 small peaches that were VERY sweet. Does this tree have a good chance to grow into a healthy long lasting tree?
This is my first year doing beefsteak tomatoes. I container garden as well. Last year was cherry tomatoes. I had like 12 containers full of them. I have to step my water and fertilizer game up. How often should I fertilize beefsteaks?
I enjoyed your good advice and enthusiastic delivery, thank you👍 I grow beefsteak tomatoes from seed here in my veg patch in the county of Shropshire UK. My favourite variety is Costoluto Di Parma, it’s an Italian variety that’s deeply ribbed (Costoluto means ‘ribbed’ in Italian). I grow my beefsteak’s in a poly tunnel, as we’re in zone 8 with a short season and the tunnel allows those extra weeks of growth so that those big tomatoes can ripen aplenty. I’ve grafted some this year onto Submarine root stock. I found it to be an interesting but easy process and I’m hoping it brings even better results.
So I got a random peach tree growing in my yard. It's almost 3ft tall. I want to relocate it. How tall do they have to be before I can relocate without killing it
Follow up is this…. First year it sleeps, next year it creeps and the next it leaps! The tree is doing well and has about 8 peaches on it right now. It’s about 5 ft tall!
I’ve got a question. I planted a couple of Florida peach trees, several years ago. Two different varieties. They both bloom every year and produce Peaches each year. One has apparently died, but it has produced a “sucker” growth below ground level and below the graft! My question is should I cut the dead portion of the tree (about 100% of the tree) and encourage this sucker to grow? What kind of peach tree will it be? Or get rid of the old tree (sucker and all) and grow a new tree in stead?
Cut that old portion to the ground. I just had this happen with a plum tree. It survived thru the roots hey man I think it’s gonna make me a strong tree. Leave it
I just bought one a few days ago that's 6 ft tall & has several little ones on it. I'm worried about its roots being in a tight bunch. What could I do about that?
@colonyhillshomestead4683 Thank you for your answer! I planted it yesterday. I did clear a bunch out of it, and made several cuts straight out from center with a long knife. The bottom roots were absolutely hard & flat like a disc. I couldn't do much of anything with them, but as I understand it, they don't really go deeper much...they spread; is that correct? Or do I need to dig it back up & correct it somehow?
Hey Jeremy, found your channel thru your peach tree video. Also from east Texas! I also had major success with overwintering a Tabasco plant, glad to see someone from the same area with the same idea!
Good morning I just planted my 1st peach tree this past weekend, I didn’t watch your video until 2 days later. My question is can I dig a hole now and place the pvc in after the fact?
Thank you! A neighbor gave me two peach trees as a gift and was so nervous I was going to mess up. You explained everything perfectly and I couldn't help but smile!
