Hi All, On this Channel I make videos about Music Production, Music Theory, Songwriting, Total Song Creation, Beat Making Tutorials and my favorite music creation tools of the trade be it digital/physical. I usually create modern “Chill”, "Left of Center" Hip Hop, and Alternative R&B and Soul music with Pop Influences. And from time to time I share Inspirational (self help), Philosophy and Lifestyle content.
I liked the mixing at unity tip. It seems to helps to set everything in relation better. Will definitely try it out in my next sesh. Would you add something for the struggle that mixing levels can be? Haha Thanks a lot!! Enjoyed your video a lot
Yeah. This was a challenge. However, it was a fun exercise to practice quicker decision-making. But it's definitely not an everyday approach to music making.
From what I remember it kiiiind of has ratchets in the sense that you can change up the speed/scale of the sequencer. So you can program something in 16th notes and change it to 32nd to 'add ratchets' in between the notes.... if that makes sense. I can't think of the proper way to word it and it has been well over 10 years since I used one. If you go to about 18 minutes in this video you can see what I mean ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n-PsmQxuXH8.html (If I remember correctly you can also do it for musical notes too, not just drums).
Thank you!!! The 505 was my first REAL piece of music gear and I spent hours on end with it. Therefore I basically have its operation and workflow seared into my brain.
fantastic sound! i found a MC-505 for a good price and i was thinking on use it as the brain for my first dawless setup ever, with a microkorg! do you think thats a good idea? Thank you!
Sounds good to me. The 505 has a powerful sequencer if you are willing to get dig into the manual a little bit. You should also be able to use the 505 Sequencer to trigger the sounds in the microkorg.
Got my Gb since '99 and I just learned a new trick after watching your video :) Thanks for that! Never knew the little * button at the EFX part communicated with the 3 BANK buttons but it makes total sense! Keep up the creativity!
Holy crap me either. I originally had a 505 when it first came out and used it extensively live in my old band. recently got a used one and never knew that '
Depends on how you set it up. This keyboard is midi over USB so you'll need some type of USB to midi converter. I run mine through my computer via USB then back out through my audio interface which has a midi out port.
Absolutely killed it again! I have an MC505 and even after successfully making a couple songs I still just have the hardest time finding an inspiring workflow one thing I would love to see a video where you kind of commentate and talk through your process! Keep up the fire!!!!!
Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it. I'll keep your suggestion in mind regarding commentary walk through video. Stay up!!! Thanks again.
Always nice to see a 505 in action, it was my first synth +20 years ago and I still make use of it nowdays, very versatile machine and a great add on in a midi studio. Maybe not for the main, but it does an awesome job for extra layering.
Same here; my first piece of real gear I purchased 20+ years ago. And you are definitely speaking the truth it's still usable today in the right situation. Thanks for your comment!
