American Latino dude from Los Angeles. Never really traveled anywhere outside my state. Experiencing places , cultures, ideas and eating & drinking along the way.
Dude, you went out of the turistic ring area big time. Are u guatemalan. I think you will make a great guatemalan you tuber, but you got to talk spanish dude. I know there is a big concentration of chapines in LA, if you make videos a guatemalan foods in LA and speak spanish, and travel to Guate you'll will make a great youtuber, because you are somehow like us. Give it a try, and your channel will grow big time man.
Thank you Man. I appreciate it. I’m actually Salvadorian, but I’ve never visited Salvador. I think my original idea was to travel through Central America because I felt like Los chapines , Hondurans Nicaraguans in the LA area all have a very similar cultures. I traveled down to Guatemala on post pandemic impulse😂. I didn’t really have a plan to be honest, I just wanted to get away. I’m glad I went, looking forward to visiting again sometime
Salvadoran, American. I’ll probably travel back to Guatemala again by the end of this year . This time I’ll go in the opposite direction and try to find unique nontourist areas. Any suggestions?
The crosses in the middle of the park is an artistic protest against former president Jimmy Morales, during his government in a temporary “foster” home for troubled teenage girls, a group of those girls died in a fire, allegedly the guards were aware and let them suffer, the president did nothing and it was said those girls were taken to do pr@st!tution, result of corrupt system. Aside from that glad you visited, it sucks you had an amazing view but terrible drinks. We need to improve to be more tourist friendly. Mercado food is the best, those lady screaming are a good sign of amazing homemade cuisine.
I used to live west of Vermont Street and I used to rent a storage unit 2 blocks west of MacArthur Park. I wish that more of the tall buildings were featured ❤❤
the buildings in the area are pretty cool, specially the mason building and the theater that's now a swap meet. there are still allot of other buildings from the 30s in the area. I grew up in west Adams but use to come up here to get a hair cut, shop for school cloths etc... this was mid to late 80s
hey! this downtown LA in the Fashion district Its called Santee Alley. If you type that in to your maps it should come right up. You can walk around here all day and find all sorts of stuff. The street vendors move around though, so you just gotta be on the look out for them.
Your videos are a fantastic resource for me, as I ponder about spending a couple of days in that city. It’s looking doable for a disabled man that wants to come back home with otc antibiotics.
Great video man ! I live in New York I go there almost every year with my family. My father was born there. Funny thing is you walked past his houses at the beginning of the video. 😂 Just subscribed 💪🏼
I can’t see it but if you did, Thanks for subbing!. I was only there for a short time. I got caught in a storm and mostly stayed in the city. Zona 4 is dope. There’s a spot called “Casa del Aguila”. There a couple of nice places to eat and a super cool bar. “Zona Viva” in zona 10 is a cool spot too. Lots of bars and places to eat, mostly locals. The roads are bad outside the city. Check TAG Airlines. They may have a flight from Guatemala City to an airport near Tikal. Tickets are usually around $70 -$100 round trip.
I like these type of videos Hank you should do Ukiah CA next. I get to travel to these places too by watching your videos. I would love to see what Ukiah looks like.
There’s areas where it’s out of control and other areas where it’s okay. The average one bedroom apartment in the San Fernando valley is $1500. I haven’t checked what homes are going for now but I hear they’re expensive right now. I think the average home price in the valley is 700k- 800k
