Funny. One comment was that the person read studies and passive stretching is enough. Now the next person read studies that it's dangerous 😂 What a lot of bs you have to put up with in the comments... i would not have your patience 👏

I am 44 and I am learning gymnastics and working on my middle splits to enhance my martial arts which I started it at 31 years old. I am doing and feeling fantastic!!
Well your video showed up out of no where. Im 40+ and tried the "traditional methods" for a long time but felt I wasn't getting anywhere. After watching your video... it makes sense and I will definitly try it out and see how far I can get in six month's without risking any injuries. Thank you for making this video.

Im 33 and had two herniated discs in my back since i was 17 ive been pain free for about 5 years and now i have a slap tear. Ive been in pain my whole adult life. Its starting to drain me
@michaelandrew8493 I feel for you brother, I've fractured my spine and have disc degeneration. And I used to be on pain killers just to get through the day. That was when I was in my 30s I'm now 46, pain free, stronger and more flexible than I've ever been. You can be too if you start doing the right workouts. You know what? If you start doing the right stuff, your pain will dismiss in weeks. You should try my online personal training, it will change your life. And it's only $1.75/day check it out unitygym.com
I have a question of your past videos on antior pelvic tilt, so my butt is really sticking out and it looks very big and I hate that, also my belly is sticking front too so I’m not sure if it’s pelvic tilt or something else and if it is I’ll do your exercises from past videos.
hi Chris, it could be APT but I can't confirm that without seeing you move. If you need help I offer online personal training for $1.75/day you can learn more here unitygym.com
I am 50. I am doing some od your exercises. As a 50 year old dude my doctor told me I should stop deadlifts, atlas stone carries and sled push/pull. So to prove my doctor wrong I get a Bone Mineral Density test done. Come to find out I have better bone Density then 94% of men half my age. Here is where it gets better, I get sent to this University exercise science lab. This professors research is how compound exercises in weight training reverse bone loss. Anyways, what my MD said was bad for me to be doing the PHD Exercise Scientist said, don't stop now. He said, the MRI reveals you have seriously dense vertebrae and sound disks. As I say, be smart but don't let age stop you from being young.
I try to work towards this. I can hang 20 sec on the right and 8-10 on the left. On a good day :o The most impressive aspect about this video demonstration is - you even talk while doing this. No gasping, nothing, totally chilled out voice. Thats truely impressive!

thanks for the detailed movement explaining about the bands! i didnt know about the angle :) Also, my PT showed me another one: you lay on your side on the ground, and with pistol grip you carry a 1-2KG plate from your hip/knee horizontally all the way over your head, like a bit like an old scythe to mow. You keep your elbow at 90ish degrees all the time. So the plate goes from your knee in a half circle over the floor all the way over your head, carrying it horizontally. (sorry man so hard to explain, it was a strange movement, but very good for labral tear). Maybe you can look it up what i mean...

You're right. I started using some of your techniques and am already seeing a GREAT change in flexibility. And I just started 3 days ago! And I'll let you know if I get the middles splits in 6 months.
Great advice, thank you so much for sharing, I was a taekwondo kid and naturally very flexible as a young kid but as I grew from a teenager into a adult I became incredibly stiff and it’s been very frustrating
SUCH an insightful discussion, thank you Rad. Wish I’d found this 8 years ago when I had my SLAP tear (due to overtraining and, as you pointed out, not being strong enough for advanced calisthenics skills!). But mercifully we stay close to an excellent sports facility and I was able to work with a good sports therapist. I’m very thankful for your insights, which help me to keep my shoulders functioning well into my 40s and beyond!
@@UnityGymOnline the second part of the message was a joke because you show the book in the video :) The part about getting a coach instead was serious. I think you mentioned it was after working with a coach that you incorporated more work with weighted stretching and to build strength in the new ROM, as opposed to previous work mostly focused on static stretches. So my takeaway is that the fastest way to progress is to get a coach
Great video. Just subbed. For the yoga block in the vid, do you recommend a 3" thickness or 4"? Yours looks like a 3" and am wondering if that works better for the stretch since a smaller surface area? Thanks
Thank you so much for this brother. Your experience echoes mine in so many different ways. I got a torn labrum in my hip from doing martial arts. And it took me a year to get an m.R.I. Then I got rehab through our medical system. And all they did was give me stretches. So now. I'm paying to see sports therapist.
Yep, I am one of these Google reviews. Physio failed my shoulder exactly like that. Three different physios, and they obviously didn't even know what a SLAP tear is. (I can't blame my doctor though, she was right about the Frozen Shoulder part 😆 I just didn't want to believe her). Thanks to the UMS, I am on the right track with my shoulder now😅
I'm glad you bring this up again.I dont know about others but my slap tear was so humbling. I'm 30 years old now but in my teens and early 20s my shoulders was almost resilient like steel. Now I gotta be much more careful and less relentless in my workout sessions also.Still feeling slap tear after aproximatly a month of recovery so slight changes must be made.Thank you for sharing some useful info.God bless you.
Hi mate, it sounds like you've had a bad experience yourself and can't fathom how someone like me could rehabilitate and recover from a SLAP tear in both shoulders without surgery. So whatever has happened to you to make you so skeptical, I give you my sympathy. But I had an MRI on both shoulders and I can assure you that I have SLAP tears in both. And I tore some of the rotator cuff muscles too. You'd be amazed at what the body is capable of when you start treating it right and following a good program. Edit: and to clarify, I didn't reattach anything. My labrum wasn't detached, it was torn, and it still is. You never completely fix a labrum tear, but you teach the body to function at 100% capacity and without pain by strengthening the shoulder correctly.
Thank you for sharing the truth and another point to share that most PTs never had a SLAP tear before so they may not had the pain and the frustration we go thru so learning the knowledge and experience on yourself is the hardest, longest, most displine road but it’s the most rewarding. I am an athlete in my mid thirties that had SLAPs both sides (opted for surgeries with 14 anchors now), rotator cuff tear, bicep tendon tear, knee ACL, meniscus, c5-c6 ACDF. HOWEVER, I had re-torn one of my labrums again. And knowing what I know now, a surgery isn’t the golden ticket but what you are sharing IS the Golden ticket. Correct rehab, patience, knowledge, ups and downs, celebrate the little wins, and long term commitment. And that’s how I survived all these downs in my life and I am still training like old days.
@@UnityGymOnline much appreciated! Likewise! Keep up your good work, be the light for others and you will be rewarded! There is a quote that says “Tough times don’t last but tough people do” so I encourage your audience to chip away at it, the body is very resilient as long as you feed it right, train it right , and re-wire/teach your brain and nervous system.
A 3 months ago I fell out of bed, I tried to stop my fall, I held my arm out straight and I dislocated my shoulder went to ER they put it back in, fast forward until 2 weeks ago, I was approved by my insurance for 6 sessions of rehab, I went to 1 session and after that my insurance said they were stopping all treatments until they look at my first session before they say I could take the last 5 remaining sessions...so really they only approved 1 session not 6 I was soo mad, I follow some youtubers like yourself, I exercise or stretch every day, I am doing better, I am not sure what is actually wrong with my shoulder because they won't pay for a MRI, until i complete 6 rehab sessions...lol which they say they won't pay for until they get approval from a bunch of doctors (I guess?)
wow that sux! Well, if you want to work with me it's only $1.75/day here unitygym.com/slaptear Or get the SLAP tear rehab blueprint to learn more about shoulder rehab.
took me 15 years of not getting there using the typical "hold for a minute and do 3 sets" Then when I started using these methods it took 6 months. As a teenager it is even easier to do.
both, that's periodization. There is no "just use these weights" answer. I change lots of variables in my training every 4 weeks so that I don't plateau.
@@UnityGymOnline im doing my front middle and back stretches on different days (mon, wed, fr) and even doing each session just once a week Im sore all the time ...
@@Lukasz.Kaa09 I think you're pushing too hard then. Try backing off a bit, and focus on recovery. I have some great live stream replays on recovery on my channel. Check it out.
