That can unfortunately happen. Ultimately, it comes to a lack of communication regarding the fee's as well as inefficiencies through the settlement company chosen. We have some debt settlement companies we work with that we highly recommend because they have a good track record. If you are interested in getting more info feel free to text or call my team at (833)272-3631.
Can you provide the exemptions for the state of California? If you own your car and you want to file for Chapter 7 how do I know if the bankruptcy trustee will liquidate the car?
Hard to say as I do not want to give you the wrong information. Exemptions can be a bit nuanced so it is always best to consult an attorney to understand your situation and give you personalized answers. If you need help getting a consultation feel free to reach my team at (833)272-3631.
I once was gonna do a debt settlement but decided not to do it cuz of 1 question i asked! I asked them that if the moment my debt settlement contract goes into effect, will all my credit cards interest freeze? They said No.
That is correct. They do not freeze the interest accrued. You may be able to contact your creditors directly to get put into a hardship program which may be able to reduce or pause your interest for a period of time. If you need help understanding options my team is always available to chat through things at (833)272-3631. Feel free to text or call us at anytime!
Hi there, we are primarily concerned with communicating information and clearing up confusion regarding relief options. Feel free to give my team a call or text at (833)272-3631 to talk over things.
Hard to say, typically you are placed in the same position as when the bankruptcy process was started meaning that creditors can now resume collection activities, including repossession or foreclosure, if you're behind on payments. If you are concerned about specific assets or situations, it's best to consult with a bankruptcy attorney to understand the full impact of a dismissal on your personal circumstances.
Agh, that can be a tough one to work with. Feel free to give my team a call or text at (833)272-3631 and we can discuss what all options are available to you.
Refrain from negotiating. They can't do anything or damage your credit report. After the bill has been sold, you no longer owe anything to a collecting agency company because of HIPPA.
Hmmm. Hard to say because HIPPA is primarily protects your medical privacy, not debt obligations. There are state by state regulations that do affect how medical debt is collected on. In all cases, it is best to consult an attorney to get an understanding how it will affect you. We work with people all across the states and have encountered individuals wages being garnished due to failure to pay medical debts, we would hate for people to face that under the assumption that collection agencies can do nothing.
In the philippines, there is only one debt settlement company that I know. They are Debt Aid Consulting International. A lot of people have complaints against the company. I took the risk to settle my debt with them because in terms of savings and breathing room for budget.
In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, there is typically a good chance you can keep your car, but this depending on a few factors. Chapter 13 allows debtors to reorganize and pay off debts over a 3-5 year period. To get a better understanding of this process and the factors involved it will be best to consult an attorney. Feel free to reach out to my team at (833)272-3631 if you are wanting to get connected to a local BK attorney in your area.
Typically we see the removal of the bankruptcy itself can give a noticeable boost to your credit score because the major derogatory mark will no longer be part of your credit history. It is important to make additional independent efforts to manage your credit responsibly to maximize the effects of the removal of bankruptcy on your credit history.
Thank you for your reply. I’ve been responsible for the 9 years. My score hovers around 700 710 range. My fico is about 694. Not saying that’s a good score but I’ve been able to get cards over the last 9 years. I also have a credit utilization of around 7 percent.
So I was thinking of signing up for PDS debt. I have some high interest cards I’ve been making payments on but they don’t seem to go down no matter how much I over pay.
Agh, I know how stressful it can be with those high interest cards. Give us a call or text at (833)272-3631 and someone on my team can talk you through your options to ensure you are choosing the most beneficial option to your situation.
I’ve got about $10,000 in credit card debt due to unexpected life events and the payments on the cards and bills eat up almost every paycheck and it seems that I’m getting nowhere fast. What can I do?
Hey Preston! So sorry to hear about your situation, hope everything is okay. Give my team a text or call at (833)272-3631 and we would be more than willing to talk over your options.
Does The mortgage bank get Lame that they put on the bankruptcy for Homestead do they get the money the bank get the money that it claims on the Homestead
I was using them for debt consolidation on two credit card debts. Now i an being sued by my credit card companies, should i seek external attorney resources?
Agh, so sorry about that. I know how stressful being sued by credit card companies can be. With the debt settlement option that consolidates payments, one con to be aware of is no legal protection from creditors. It may be beneficial to seek attorney resources. If you would like to talk over your situation with an analyst here feel free to call or text us at (833)272-3631 and we can do a free consultation.
So i am seriously debating on bankruptcy so i can have a clean slate. During the pandemic i lost a lot of hours at work and this effected my ability to pay rent. I applied for rent aid but it never paid so i was stuck with $10,000 that landed on my credit. I was trying to make payments but i was late by 11 days and the collection company did a judgement against me and is now trying to garnish my wages and now i owe over $11,000 because they stacked on their attorney fees. My question is that if i file bankruptcy how will that effect me when it comes to getting approved for renting apartments? Most apartments already won't take me because of that debt owed to the apartment. If i file bankruptcy will the balance owed to the debt collector for the apartment show 0? And does bankruptcy disqualify me from renting at a lot of rental places?
Hi Jennifer, so sorry to hear about your situation. It is important to explore your options carefully. Bankruptcy can have significant consequences on your credit and future financial decisions, including renting. In general, filing for bankruptcy can eliminate certain debts, but how that impacts your ability to rent can vary. Some landlords may be cautious about renting to someone with a bankruptcy on their record, while others may consider additional factors like income or references. As for the balance owed to the debt collector, bankruptcy may discharge some debts, but it’s best to consult a legal or financial professional who specializes in bankruptcy to clarify how it would impact your specific situation. Feel free to give us a call or text at (833)272-3631 and we can get you set up with a free bankruptcy consultation or talk through other relief options.
It will be harder to find an apartment but there are apartments that still allow people who file to rent. Honestly, sounds like you’re fucked either way so you might as well file. At least you’ll be legally protected from getting sued and/or garnished. Talk to an attorney first.
@@brianafranklin8164 speaking of garshisnments I just got a notice in the mail that the debt collection from Allied is going to try to garnish my wages for the debt I owe to that apartment complex....looks like bankruptcy really is my only option at the point because there's no way I can survive and have my wages garnished.
Unfortunately this just showed me that the majority of people have a debt problem in the first place 👀 Society basically lives in debt for life in order to be a consumer
Hi there, to clarify in Chapter 13 the trustees are paid through a percentage of the debtor’s monthly payments. The trustee receives a commission, usually between 5% and 10%, depending on the district.
The worst decision that I ever made 232 a month for my only items my house got laid off well it's time for catch up 789 a month for the next 9 months I've been broke for the last 4 years and I'm bailing out of this
Agh so sorry to hear about your situation. If you are still in the chapter 13 process it will be best to consult the attorney to explain your change in income and see what your best options options going forward will be.
Hi Tonya, we don't see you having any issues filing bankruptcy again at this time. You should definitely consult with a bankruptcy attorney to confirm this. If you need help getting connected with for free consultation give us a call at (833)272-3631.
Hi Ascend team, your videos have been super helpful! I have a question now: how soon does best egg sell the debt to the 3rd party, after the account is charged off (120 days)? And if I start a 6month settlement payment plan on or before that charged off date, will they still report the charged off information to credit bureaus? I lm hoping to make the settlement payment before it’s charged off, but what they offer is higher than I can afford. Thanks in advance!
Hmmm hard to say. Best Egg or any other lender charges off an account, the timeline for selling that debt to a third party can vary. Typically, creditors might wait anywhere from 90 to 180 days after the charge-off before selling the debt to a collection agency. This period can be influenced by their internal policies and the specifics of your account. Regarding a settlement payment plan: If you start a payment plan on or before the charge-off date, Best Egg will still report the account as charged off to the credit bureaus. Charge-offs are a formal acknowledgment by the lender that they have deemed the account uncollectible, and this status generally remains on your credit report for up to seven years from the date of the charge-off, regardless of any subsequent payment plans or settlements. It’s always a good idea to confirm with Best Egg directly how your account will be reported and to get any agreements in writing. If you need to discuss your options going forward feel free to call us at (833)272-3631 and one of our analysts can do a free consultation with you.
As much as we love Chicagoland here we are not from the area. We do help individuals all across the United States so you can tell your friend that if they would like to connect with us to talk over relief options they can text or call us at (833)272-3631.
Ok, I just spoke with a representative at Turbo Debt and they gave told me that some law firm contacts the bank / negotiates on your behalf not another debt company. Maybe that’s new. I told them I would think about it.
Also, they want you to start paying them directly instead of your bank and I foresee that being a really bad idea IF the bank isn’t aware you are going through the debt relief program. BIG RED FLAG for me.
Hmmm that is interesting. It does sound similar to a debt settlement program but the specifics may be slightly different. We would love to talk over things to help you understand your best options going forward. Feel free to give us a call or text at (833)272-3631.
Do you know the Exemption for Ohio. I filed Chapter 7 in 2022 and owe 18,000 on my car. On my credit with Equifax is show $0 and the account was closed with the car loan. I know you dont give legal advice but im loss here.
Hi Chelsea, we highly recommend reaching out to the attorney who filed the Chapter 7 to get a better understanding of this. Exemptions can be very nuanced and giving specific guidance can easily dip into the realm legal advice.
Totally! However, sometimes hardships arise - whether it's a medical emergency or something else, so folks compare options (including bankruptcy). Thanks for your comment!
Hey Amber, thanks for the comment! If you don't owe anything, then there may not be any assets at risk of losing. However, it may make sense to confirm with an attorney. You're always welcome to call us at 833-272-3631 if you have any more questions!
That may be something you'll need to iron out, but it's best to confirm with an attorney. If you'd like to call my team at 833-272-3631, they can help find you someone locally.
