Without knowing which was which my favorite 2 were C and E - not surprised it was the SM7b. Have one myself and love it. I'm surprised you didn't include the Electro-Voice RE20
Thank you Fizzle for the many great years. I started when Scott was just with us and we're all very optimistic about this content thing. Glad to be part of what was an amazing thing.
So the sm7b was way more high end in the test, but High End is one of those things that is not like "you can remove it but not add it.." it's actually the opposite. It's really hard to remove high end from a mic, but really easy to add it (unless it's high end from a tube mic.. different topic). So I'd be interested in matching the High end a bit more and see how each mic responds. For example, I tried a cheap Aston Spirit mic and sure at first it sounds great bright etc.. but when you go to mix it, there's always this annoying high end that is hard to remove.. Whereas something cheap on the same price range like a Roswell mini K87 doesn't have much high end at first, but when you add it w EQ and Saturation.. it just always end up sounding better than the Aston. Food for thought.
I like the E the best to my ears; just sounded more fuller to me. When the reveal came up I was very glad, because I just bought a refurb'd PR-40, waiting for it to arrive and I was scared that I might have made the wrong choice. Even refurbished those Heil's are expensive.
I like how you made some really good points while relating and not condemning the things we struggle with. For me, the doing or sticking to the doing is the hardest part for me.
Don't you know money is time? First point is totally disagree! If a project tram double of the time estimation will only cause Ethernet whole team time wasting and resources and of course cause people slack in the project
C: ' s vocals were heart felt.!!! E: sounded nice G: sounded good ( but was hiding something. It was like a Chrysler 300 being passed off as a Phantom.

Ok i stopped the video at 7:33 - You can tell just by the sound that E is the Heil mic how can you tell well if you cycle threw each mic you here a lot of muffle not clear audio when you get to the E Every word was clear and you can tell the rejection from the none rejection mic - KG5CUO - 73
LOL The Key shows I was right how did I know if i stop the video and wrote what I thought before i saw the KEY simple use your ears just like BOB Heil tells you you do not have to boost a mic to get great sound from it Base about - 3 DB T rebel to about +4 DB Compression 1-5 or none Mic gain to 2/3 of the way and it will stand out like a man in the dark with a flashlight .. Here is where people go wrong they throw way to much base treble and compression and mic gain then they blame the mic as sounding to tinggy or not enough base and to much treble or they over power it and put way to much compression and distortion is the issue You want great sound you have to use common since and not over power a mic that can do the job with out all the over powered and compression overload and mic gain thanks Bob for making such a great product As a Ham operator myself learning to lesson to the faintest sound in the sea of noise if you have the right dynamic you will see them like they have a blow horn they will cut threw the noise and white noise we call it a noise floor.....Is it worth the money I would say so do you want true quality then back off the crap that's why you did not here much reduction because of the compression that was in the test mic gain and eq if you roll it off all of it and set it like i said you should then turn off the compression and then talk at a 90 then 180 and then you will see the difference in quality verse any dynamic mic on the market...Again thank to Bob Heil K9EID here is a guy for 60 years shared his experience and knowledge and this is why it is the top best mic of all time hands down. You can hate the mic and say it is junk but yet you will not find any on the market that can beat it I promise you... it is more the application of how it is used or the users error in most cases use your ears notice the difference in tone FREQ and Pitch this is not made for singers or music that would be the PR 30 This mic was made for broadcasting and dynamic range and you can tell the difference he does make mics for singers as well but that is not this one if your interested in that kind of mic you should talk to him personally by email im sure he can get you fixed up or mixing interments mic's just look for his website and drop him a line he is a great guy and will answer any questions you have about it.....well nothing more i can tell you I am not paid Endorsed or affiliated in any way with Heil Microphones or electronics . As a Armature Radio Operator I have heard a lot of broadcasts with people who use his mics and I highly recommend them... KG5CUO
I have to agree with you about the AT875R and Shure Beta 87a, they really sound great, buttttttt the Telefunken did a great job too. Besides that, to be honest, it's not about the mic, it's about the voice, like, the second male voice sounded better in a diferent mic then the first, and the girl, same thing. Can you please tell me what kind of camera & lens did you record yourself with? The video quality looks amazing. Also, is the audio when you’re talking in the beginning being picked up directly from the camera’s mic or are you using an external mic to pick up your voice?
Hey I am from a different part of the world and wish to know that the coffee cup you used in this video shows up in almost all the Hollywood movies. I was curious if this is some standard issued coffee cup or what? :) By the way I really liked the way you presented. I may sub just to see your presentation style. So excellent work there. Your personality is just delightful.
Without seen the test key, I’ll say 1 C, 2 A (really close to the first one!), 3 F and maybe 4 G. I didn’t care about the other ones, specially B. Post seen the test key: The SM7B is no surprise, but I’m surprise by the fact that the two others I chose are the two less expensive ones, really interesting.
SM7B made me want to make out with that girl. Best by a good bit. Try listening with eyes closed and get intimate with the voice. SM7B delivers the resolution that translates to emotion.
The RØDE Podcaster. I was confident, that this was G, the moment i heard it, because that lack in the bass to higher bass range is to be expected by that particular mic. (And the RØDE Procaster is much better, than the RØDE Podcaster in that regard) Too bad, that this could give one the impression, USB Mics in general sounded worse, because that is just not true.
the 2nd vocal made them all sound good, the first was much more mid-freq and all needed some eq, the 3rd voice I liked C the best, ....noise rejection SM7b type, one mic missed is the BCD1 MXL.. great video!!
I have been trying to find out just what the bloody hell a writer's voice is for eighteen years now. Sorry, but this video of yours also fails miserably in defining what is a writer's voice for me. I have begun to believe that a writer's voice doesn't exist in the first place. It's just a lie that everybody tries to get you to believe in, but it just doesn't exist. There are style guides like APA, AP, Chicago etc. and then there is the difference in topics (which makes you use different words, and hence writings read different), but that's it. "Every writer has a unique voice" is the biggest lie in the history of mankind.
Why didn't you clearly indicate in the details section of your RU-vid video, what mic and interface (sound chain) you used for the beginning of this RU-vid video? It sounds great.
