This was brilliant you should do more of them non journalist car enthusiasts testing something familiar. Alfa 156 owner testing Quadrifoglio for example.
After owning both the supercharged V8 Jaguar and the quattroporte S I have to say that while the Jaguar has a more cosseting softer ride I think the Maserati is a better (more engaging) all-rounder. As evidenced by the fact that I’m always looking forward to taking the Maserati for a joyride almost daily. Thanks for the video and God bless.
My local dealer is already discounting the Grenadier by £9k, maybe the niche' was smaller than anticipated? I followed Ineos and the Grenadier project from day 1, all the union Jack's and Britishness was slowly replaced and the price went up and up before Sir Jim moved to Monaco to avoid tax. No doubt it's well engineered but I'd think it's lost a lot of UK buyers when production was started in France, chassis cab is interesting but I can't see the likes of Scottish power buying when the Toyotas they're presently using will be much cheaper and the Quartermaster has a lower payload than even the old Defender 130hcpu.
From my choice, Roma is the worst and most expensive because it’s look not outstanding inside out comparing the other two. I don’t feel Roma is a Ferrari. Little bit Quicker and better handling is not important. The other two is fast enough. If you feel comfortable with the size of Bentley,it is the best choice. Otherwise DB11.
The dreadfully inadequate Audio, and the consistently stupefyingly soporific somnambulism over many "Prior" years of the said Reviewer in the video and many preceding it, account for the woeful number of views.....they know he is good at writing and editing, but yet with unerring and willfully ignorant consistency, have him in front of a camera instead of behind a desk....get Andrew Frankel or anyone..else...no shortage of brilliant auto journalists in the UK with knowledge, personality, charisma and eloquent speaking skills, not mumblers....Time for Autocar to make a change....horrible tech as well, audio fixes don't take Einsteinian expertise, but definitely require competent crew, quality control and reliable equipment....please don't lose your audience altogether....🙁
Jeep & reliability are two different planets here in Oz. I guess reliability of the Grenadier is yet to be established, not too many on the roads or tracks of Western Australia.
This guy is one of the worst car reviewers I have ever seen! He is very numb ! It feels a potato is takling about the Ferrari! Poor car that you are driving!
Come on Autocar! You should be able to do better than this. Everything the presenter said was lost because of the dreadful audio quality. I could hardly even hear the exhaust note of the car. D- COULD DO BETER
Love the concept of this vehicle but the real proof of this vehicle is is it reliable and will be long lasting. If so it will be a winner even at it’s cost.
Glad that JR the Brexiteer made the decision to move production to France. At least Welsh workers and the UK taxpayer won’t have lost out when Ineos Grenadier go bust.
There is no way that a Clio is better than Fabia / I20 / Polo / Ibiza ... how can you do a test like these without even mentioning them ? not very professional.
A very niche vehicle, and what Autocar failed to mention is that due to the poor payload it will be extremely difficult for businesses to claim the vat back! Thats a massive handicap price wise! You should be able to buy 2 ,or even 3 other pickups for the same price as one quartermaster....and those pickup will carry 250kg more than the inneos😢
Payload does not even matter now since April. Dual cab == no vat back because the government has decided so. Clearly people buying pickups instead of vans was a huge problem that our amazing and not helpless government jumped right onto 🤦♀️
It is completely separate. Jim Radcliffe wanted to buy the rights to the old defender and got told no. This is designed by Styer in Austria and made in France.

Autocar need to understand the difference between written form, audience and general RU-vid engagement! Who is telling them they are doing well?! Using these old school editors/ writers is not getting them views for the RU-vid generation sadly - they have been slow to adapt and deserve this fall in market share😢
Which states are you referring to? It’s available in the United States of America. There’s actually a dealer where I live in Houston, TX and several other dealers around the country. The Quartermaster is just coming to market, but the Grenadier can be ordered now.
