Not really... I have pre paint pics of when I mounted the skewers onto the bodies. The Blackouts really were perfect for this concept... more then I knew when all the stuff arrived and I was going to figure it out. The balloon holder "Sticks" slide into one of the 3 holes already in the Blackout bumpers (with a little boring) and the skewers lay flat on the suv style body. I cut a hole out for the handle to sit into the shel and sandwiched it between Gorilla tape on top and bottom of the shell. Once you align where the balloon sticks sit and where the skewers poke, it is all but ready! Need to tone down the speed of the vehicles as too fast and they just flip over and pop the balloons, as well as can cause more damage when slamming into each other!
lol, TOTALLY different game for sure! Have a couple of the 90's RC's in my store at the moment and they are not built anywhere near the way they are nowadays!
I have the Kronos from 2020, I have to change the servo and radio. Nowadays I drive it with a traxxas radio from my bandit. I think it’s a great car. I also have bought the losi 8ight rtr that’s a very good car also. The Kronos is have changed the diffs and dampers, front rear diff 10000, center 100000, dampers front 600 rear 37.5. And it goes. Never done 70 mph.
I've gotten to 65 on my Kronos with my phone GPS and 68, later with a power hobby GPS. I have never hit 70 myself but also never been able to keep it down when accomplishing both the other speed runs nor did I have it wide open for more then a second. Then electronics in them are top notch in the RTR RC world for sure!
@@NPCRC when driving 55 it still pulls wheelies. I have a GoPro 8 I had put it on my losi end went to the street with 70 km/h, my Kronos needs a new motor bearing and piniongear then I go on the street with the Kronos.
No shims removed. Thats a customers truck. He was running it while we set up and got started.... It doesn't do well on that loose gravel and he couldn't line up the ramps so he moved to his Kraton! I have parts for the truck though!
I run a VOLTZ 5000mah 4s hard case on my Outcast 4s ( v2.5 so same esc as you ) . Only been out once with it but did 25 minutes on the park and never even set my alarm off ( set to 3.5v )
1:19 what about the small battery trays. I just got mine today and had to cut the plastic off of one end, and add a little foam over the jagged side to fit my two 6s batteries. Not a big deal. Just saying if you making a 6s truck, it should at least fit decent size 6s batteries.
I picked up a second Infraction during all the early summer sales from Horizon ebay store for $448. It's got the new gray esc and new servo. I've not had any issue with the esc but I've had the truck take off on its own 2 different times right after turning the truck on. The craziest thing I've had happen to it was the steering reversed itself from one run to another. I went to drive the truck and it turned opposite. I had to reverse it on the radio. I honestly don't remember what batteries was in it when it did its crazy things. I have Spektrum and several other brands. I'll start paying attention now.
I really want a Kagama. I can't decide if i want to get the roller or rtr. Everything I've heard about stock TC electronics has been great but I've not seen them compared directly to the usual 6s HW or Castle aftermarket esc/ motor combo's. I'm one of the rare folks who has has good luck with stock electronics from Spektrum. I've been running the speed pinion on my Fireteam for bashing for over 2 years with the stock electronics.
the Corally Electronics go faster then the Spektrum stuff, stock for stock. Arrma's go about 50-55 stock and when you put the pinion on to get the speed on the box (65), it says to keep it on road. Corally hits a little over that out the box, no pinion needed!
Buy both, upgrade the Kagama chassis, and upgrade the Kraton 6S arms. Overall the Kagama is overbuilt to not break, Kraton 6S when not overgeared has better handling and drives much better, the Kagama is all over the place on 6S, however, if you're bashing mindlessly it won't matter. I have driven them both.
I FOUND THE ANSWER. do with my k4s I was getting same thing. What I realized and why. Is I put the punch at level 8. With the punch not at factory settings, it will not allow you to adjust the lvc. It’ll act like it will then will default to factory when you save the lvc setting. I just got about 20 minutes of speed runs on 2 hoovoo 2s 5200s and putting punch to factory and lvc to level 2.
Once an Spektrum avc receiver is installed in this and the BEC is increased to 7 4 volts, this wipes the floor with the MAXX in every category. From speed, to tracking straight and overall handling, to motor and esc. It is superior to the Maxx. Right out of the box you have a truck capable of 60 mph+ vs the maxx 50 mph. Maybe 53 mph on a good day. Thats faster than many 6s vechiles. Definitely powerful and also extremely well built. Not sure why anyone would now purchase a Maxx.
Spray the interior of the Valkerie with industrial grade rubber, coat it with shredded resin/fiberglas, let it dry, add another layer of rubberized spray, and that body will be ready to go.
Personally, replacement tires should be comparable with the stock ones i.e. size and weight. Those who are hard-headed will just watch those gears strip and be disappointed. Badlands are better on larger heavier RC's with a lot of power, they are notorious for causing diff and gear difficulties in lighter less powerful RC's.
@spenn2007 I agree, to a degree. I'm not so worried about gear issues myself but overheating is something of concern, when going up to larger tires. It's a form of upgearing, so if the truck would normally be able to go up 2 teeth or so on the stock set up, then keeping it stock and putting some larger wheels on it should be OK. I do think the 2.8s are a better fit for the truck but I also had people messaging me to see if Backflip LPs would fit it and that's where the larger wheel topic came up. I do like the 3.8 badlands though, if the gearing would handle it. You can always gear down to, accommodate, if it gets too hot running them.
If these trucks are anywhere near durable they are a home run! The Arrma 3s line specifically is in trouble. They now cost more and are smaller and less powerful than the Redcat 😱
Why are people saying WOV racing?? They look nothing like either one of those rigs.. To me these Refcats seem like the best value on the market right now
This Valkyrie seems to be the absolute best value in name brand RC right now. 4S power, full metal gears, center diff, and seems to be very tough from what Ive seen so far. I think it SPANKS the Arrma 3S BLX stuff and Traxxas 3S VXL stuff. Especially at the crazy $300 price tag. Might actually be on par with the Arrma 4S stuff, which is very difficult for me to say because the Arrma 4S trucks are by far my favorite RCs. I never thought I'd see the day I'd say.. "I am BUYING THAT REDCAT".
Yeah wheelies were not easy. It would pull one on pavement or when throttling through thicker grass. We HAD some on occasion but the issue here was the nose not wanting to stay up even under throttle.
@@NPCRC I have the xrt I have the x-maxx but this Red cat would be so awesome if it could do wheelies maybe I just got to drive it around a little longer maybe it'll wake up LOL but I absolutely love this truck like I said I have the x-maxx I have the xrt I just don't like that front wheels taking off before the back the front tires balloon I think that's the problem why I can't get wheelies the front tires are turning faster than the back
@@user-wp9mz Motor could open up some after breaking in some but putting some heavier oil in your center diff is important as well, when trying to get the truck to wheelie more.
@rcjawn4479 Nott exactly. Definitely from the same factory. Kind of like how the Kaiju is from Team associated. The Rival MT8 is not the exact same truck as the Kaiju although they even share some of the same parts. Some of the parts, like upper arms are the same but the lower arms are different the bucket style inner part of the chassis a little bit different, the shock towers are different and of course then the bumpers and things which Redcat probably had designed around their vehicles. Definitely looks like they got it from a good German Factory though so it's a well-made truck as those models were, for the price.
@@peteralbury7724 Yes same factory so diffs, mounts and shafts (mostly drive train) will be the same. Arms should be compatible though from one to another and the upper bulkheads, although different style, should also be compatible based on the chassis bottoms of both trucks.
@robcanthandlestupidy9249 Yeah the conversation came up with one of my customers wanting to put a bigger tire on it so we started playing around and since the Kaiju tires didn't fit right, and I thought they would, I figured I would play around with some options.
Thank you! I already had a set of backflips in my cart. I'm new here but will definitely be around from now on. You've given the best and most detailed info on this truck that I've found.
@boduke9428 thank you very much and I appreciate the feedback. I feel I could have even done more if I would have got it out and got it running before they dropped. I ran out of time and my shipment came in a little late so I barely had time to get the unboxing and comparison done. More to come
@spenn2007 what truck did you have issues on with Badlands? They are some of the most popular model tire people upgrade to. IMO, they will only hurt the diffs if the gears are weak. This truck has metal geared diffs... no reports of diff issues yet with this model. Maybe it CAN handle the upsize? Time will tell. The 3.8 regular ones are not too heavy and about as thin as the stock tires.
@@spenn2007 the badlands for the XMaxx or the MX3.8's are definitely heavier tires and will add more stress on diffs for sure. These are the much lighter weight 3.8 Badlands and they are not as heavy. I also made a point to mention that the stock gearing may be ok for them as Redcat usually has their trucks undergeared. All I was saying it is not a fact that the 3.8 badlands are going to destroy the diffs on this truck. I pulled them off a truck that is similar sized and have had them on my MT10E for a while, which was a smaller truck, and had no issue there.
The Valkyrie does 58. The 4S Arrmas do 55. That's pretty close lol, especially for the size upgrade. But the 3S Arrmas do 49. So you're not wrong on that one. But either way, the Valkyrie I think is the best option of the 3. We'll see how they hold up! I'm definitely getting one
More companies need to make 3.2 wheels. They are the sweet spot for 4s trucks and 1/9th scale vehicles. The 4s backflips are one of my favorites but we need them in 1/2" offset!! Don't understand why more companies aren't making 3.2 with 1/2" offsets. What about those powerhobby wheels they make for the Maxx? Those might be a good option too. Great video buddy
Looks to be same factory for sure but just like with the Team associated trucks, Kaiju is different then the MT8 in alot of ways but also similar. The WOV trucks have a slightly different bucket chassis layout, bodypost and towers are a little different and the bumpers. But when you look at the bumper ovals, wheelie bars and things like the tower to tower brace, you can see they are from the same factory
They look pretty sweet. Only time will tell if they will hold water against the 4s arrma line. My 4s Outcast v2 is a beast and just continues to take punishment.
I agree... time will tell. Feels as solid for sure but even if its CLOSE, its $160 less. I feel it is already close enough for most to take that chance, especially if that's more their budget!
Yeah, after seeing it and knowing the price point... I figured the discussion needed to be had, from a value stand point at least!!! Thanks for watching and I will be around if you need me!
What are chances on hub and or wheel options? What's it gonna take to put the 4s Arrma backflips on it? How about making it wider to match the Arrma? Those c hubs just look odd sticking out inside the wheel so far before attaching to the arm. That narrow footprint does lessen leverage but also lessens effective wheel travel. Longer arms equal more wheel travel for the same length arm. Are there any aluminum shock options that'll fit yet? I don't even know when to expect delivery but I'm ready to start the upgrades already. Hopefully Vitavon will support it with aftermarket upgrades since they have been leading the charge with the Vigilante.
So the 2.8 PL Series will fit. We put some Badlands and Destroyers on it today. Backflips are a little taller then those and LOOK like they will go right on. Just concerned with the Height. May make a video showing some of the tire options on it!
as far as aluminum shock options, I am sure there is somethin already on the market. Most likely any that would fit the 4S outcast, SHOULD fit the Valkyrie
I have a v2 4s Kraton and v2.5 4s Outcast. I ordered the Redcat today as soon as they showed it on the live stream. It was before the price was even announced. I was shocked at checkout when my total was $299. I don't expect to like it more than my Arrma trucks but I think it'll be good. I love my Vigilante and ordered this just because it looked like the Vigilante. I still like my 8s Arrma rigs more than my Vigilante but it definitely bumped my Xmaxx down the list. Redcat is killing it lately and I'll keep buying just to support them and encourage them to keep it up. I want a 5th scale electric Typhon or 5b type buggy and have more hope of Redcat building it than anyone else.
