In this video, Vigilante is back together from rear diff repair and we swap back to the 4985 motor and then again with the Castle 2028, in attempts to see if we can figure out where the power went on this rig!

Just my opinion, but those small ramps do tend to kick up the rear end on larger vehicles.

Small ramps are definitely not ideal for this thing but to be fair the only reason we're testing with this ramp is because it is more flat and helps expose the issue more. Also, the higher arched ramp is more dangerous until we got this issue figured out. In the previous video, we were on a larger jump and the issue was there and more dramatic. Just wanted to keep it simple for test troubleshooting purposes.

What a difference with stock motor

Had some spunk with the Castle now too, which we weren't getting after the initial install. Should be ready to take some larger tires and then go up to a 19T or, what i hear is the max, 20T pinion!

@@NPCRC maybe few oz fishing weight in the rear keep the nose up.

1100kv is not fast enough with the gearing options
@NPCRC
@NPCRC 3 месяца назад
I agree, considering we started with the stock gearing to be able to compare vs the motor set up which is 1250kv. 20T is the largest i hear we can go with the cover still fitting. We plan on getting there but the issue we were having is more then just gearing and KV. I am seeing others put the 800kv motor in and not complaining about the nose being heavy though. This video gave us some hope with getting the wheelies back so now we will upgear some and change the tires. May be good to go after that but will probably see how big of a pinion the mount can take and figure out the cover later, to get more out of it!

Mine's brand new straight out of the box and it will not do wheelies I'm running 8000mah 130c batteries

Yeah wheelies were not easy. It would pull one on pavement or when throttling through thicker grass. We HAD some on occasion but the issue here was the nose not wanting to stay up even under throttle.

@@NPCRC I have the xrt I have the x-maxx but this Red cat would be so awesome if it could do wheelies maybe I just got to drive it around a little longer maybe it'll wake up LOL but I absolutely love this truck like I said I have the x-maxx I have the xrt I just don't like that front wheels taking off before the back the front tires balloon I think that's the problem why I can't get wheelies the front tires are turning faster than the back

@@user-wp9mz Motor could open up some after breaking in some but putting some heavier oil in your center diff is important as well, when trying to get the truck to wheelie more.
