It’s just plastic and stickers. Just pull an end off and lift the stickers off. Beware though you won’t be able to reattach it after without applying new stickers that you’ll have to cut and fit yourself.
Great review. Is there any reason to choose this adapter over the MSXTTLY U2C-AIR 2.0 adapter (which works great for me so far; I just need CarPlay) except the slight price difference?
Hi, need help... i just bought the mmb android 13, my only concern is when i play music the sound its like goes up and down, like sinewave huh.. any solution..? Thanks
Installed this box over the weekend and not to impressed at the moment, sometimes the bluetooth connection fails and i can't seem to be able to use phone because the folder is empty which means it doesn't have access to my galaxy s23 ultra contacts, so making a phone call means or i go back to original car screen or by using my phone book directly on my phone, also if i press the phone button on my steering wheel it doesn't open the phone book but it kinda works as a backspace button, when i press the phone button it goes to start screen so at the moment not to impressed with this box , if i can't get it sorted it goes in the trash because i don't use things that don't work properly, can't be a set up problem because i allowed it full access on everything while setting up the box
@@CarPlayLife yeah gave permission to all , but today it seems to be working, tried and tried yesterday, gave up and went inside, today starting the car tried bt phone again without going into setting or doing anything and now suddenly my contacts are imported on the device 🤔
That’s more a compatibility issue with your car system. I don’t think you can do anything via options for this to be improved other than submitting a ticket with their support and hope they address it in a future update. If it can’t be done when using wired CarPlay it won’t be possible.
I have mine in a 2018 Ram 3500 and works great except, when turning off the truck, the dongle will stay connected even after I go in the house. I have to manually disconnect it. Any ideas what to do?
Absolutely fab, thank you bud, I’ve been watching loads of vids and couldn’t find one that was as tiny, affordable and impressive as this until now. £45 is a steal as you say; I’m away to change the head unit of my 2011 VW T5.1 and the difference between wired and wireless CarPlay was over £120 between the two aftermarket units. I was about to just put up with the cable but this wee chap will fix that! Thanks for your in depth reviews 👌🏽
I already have wireless car play in Land Rover Discovery. I don’t want to use it on one of these boxes. Can I just use this for the likes of RU-vid, Netflix etc and have my phone still connected to the native Land Rover solution?
If the LR can wired CarPlay also then this should work. However I doubt you can run two CarPlay connections simultaneously. I’ve not been in setup to try this myself.
I got one after watching your video 👍 Would you know why the time and date on the screen are not right even if I have set the correct time zone! I can’t find a way to change the date and the time separately! Thanks for your help 👍🙏
I can’t remember if you can get into the Android OS settings screen on this adapter. If you can then go into system and set the time in there. Otherwise it might adjust itself when you next connect it to the internet.
The worst thing about the lamto is the annoying blue menu that is on the side.. it should be hidden. It would be much nicer to get full screen on your apps, like full screen map
@@CarPlayLife Thank you. Every time the dongle tries to start up a get on my screen" Please connect sunweyer dongle 2504". Is this normal? Sometimes its take 30-40 sec and sometimes it can take up to 2-3 min to connect and 1 or 2 times it wont connect at all. Best Regards. Magnus
That’s not right. It Must be an issue with your car system. What brand, model and year of car are you using it with? Connect and view the up config menu and sent a support ticket with the info.
What is the best streaming box not on a budget? I’d rather pay a little more for a better experience and I’m wanting to buy one for my dad for Father’s Day.
There’s too many newer models out there to to narrow down a best option right now. I’ll need to do an updated video to this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LrFHjrYnoDE.htmlsi=gTtoqSipErRdIYw-
Hi. I appreciate how detailed your review is. I'm new to this & trying to weigh my options. Forgive me but I'm ignorant to this device & before purchasing I'm trying to figure out how the device charges. I will have to use the wireless option. Once it needs to be recharged, do I just remove the device from the mount & and charge it with a usb? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!!!
Hi. Yes you’re right. You just push in a small pin at the top of the doorbell to unhook it from the mount then charge it via usb. If you have a large battery bank you could charge it directly whilst it’s on the wall but it might look a bit strange 😂 once charged you clip it back on and your good for another month or three.
I bought the Carlinkit AI recently and it took a whole day to make it work. Nothing in the manual tells you about all the obstacles and settings you need to do to make it work. No audio was available when it was connected, reason why; you have to disconnect your phone ‘s bluetooth connection from the cars media system! Only found that out via Google. Once on the road the damn thing quits working at the most annoying times; when I fx. used Google maps. Radom things froze on screen too, like the Android media player when I was in Apple Carplay mode. RU-vid took forever to load and would only play 30 seconds then quit, although 5G and full coverage. After 2 days I returned the bloody Chinese crap and now I just use a cable to connect my iPhone. If you car doesn’t have wireless Carplay, don’t go for this and stick to your cable and don’t get blown away by the Netflix, RU-vid etc. streaming, because it’s useless.
Sorry to hear this. What CarlinKit model did you buy and what car brand make and model were you using it with? Incase anyone else reading this is thinking of doing the same
@@CarPlayLife The quality are simply not good enough on these AI boxes, that’s what I heard and experienced myself. Maybe if you have a touch screen, insert a sim-card and pay a monthly fee and have an Android phone it’ll make a little sense. If you have an iPhone and (obviously) want to use Apple Carplay, bear in mind that the damn thing starts up in Android mode, for then to go to Apple Carplay mode. Annoying to say the least.
@@CarPlayLife It was installed in a 2019 Mercedes C-class. It was stated by the seller it would fit the car, but without touch-screen, it’s impossible to use or at least very limited functionality. I had to connect a mouse, and have it with me in the car at all time, to make use of fx RU-vid. The box I bought is the exact same as shown in your video. One thing is a “bench test” as you perform, another thing is real life use. I would strongly suggest people NOT to buy this completely useless junk.
Thanks for the info. These adapters will always struggle with non touch screen displays. Imagine using an Android tablet if you can’t touch screen. The experience is drastically affected. Using remote is the best way as you’ve tried but even then it makes for a janky experience. So I don’t blame you. It’s worth trying but it’s likely never how someone thinks it’s going to be. Other than using your phone screen instead, there’s some modules that go in between the system and display. But again I don’t know how well they work with dial controls. There’s also touch screen replacements, but this is unknown territory for me to recommend anything.
@@CarPlayLife But as a customer you expect it to work when it’s stated that it fits your car? I’m blown away by the sloppy instructions and lack of seamless operation. I would never mount an aftermarket touchscreen on my car, especially not with the all that Chinese junk out there. I’ll say it’s actually an insult to our intelligence…but ya’ know, keep buying the stuff and the manufacturer will laugh all the way to the bank…
Thank you. There’s too many to think of to narrow down a best option right now. I’ll need to do an updated video to this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LrFHjrYnoDE.htmlsi=gTtoqSipErRdIYw-
I notice this review mentions Android Auto being a not great experience. Have you tested any of these devices that work well with Android Auto? I have an older vehicle from 2008 and would much rather get something like this than go through all the work of installing an entirely new stereo in the vehicle but only use Android.
They are all similar. I would think this is the best I’ve personally experienced. Thanks to its higher resolution display and its lamination just looks much better than cheaper options where the display looks more sunk behind the glass, which at certain angles makes the display look cut off. Android auto on this really varies on the connected device. If you have a Google pixel or Samsung it should render good enough. Many suffer with the slightly squashed display ratio of the stream. Clearing Android auto cache might also help with how AA renders on the display. I forgot to do this when switching Android devices in the video.
hello good afternoon ! Can anyone help me?? I have a support like this with this base for wirlless charging but my cover doesn't hold like this! Could it be because my iPhone Mag case has a black ring on the back??
@carplaylife i'm still trying to figure out which adapter would work best. The main issue I'm finding is not also being able to cast from my phone. Do you have a higher priced option with the bells and whistles that can also cast?
@@CarPlayLife that would be great. Do you happen to know if there is a free casting app on the play store or side loaded app that works well for casting through that app on one of these carplay adaptors?
I had to take it off to review a case. Soon as you take it off you can’t put it back on as it uses small adhesive strips. Whilst it was on it was good. A bit weird when you’re used to a case all over. For its small price, if it interests you it’s worth a punt to try it out.
This might be to do with the adapter working on Android Auto-only car systems. Otherwise, it will use the CarPlay platform to operate over. But I don't think it will convert CP only to Android Auto connections. Sorry if that's already confusing lol
Great review. Is there any you suggest that can easily switch between Android auto and carplay? Have been testing AAwireless, but I'm having issues geting it to connect with Carplay in my Subaru Ascent
This needs a wired CarPlay port to work. If it only has wired Android auto and you want RU-vid etc. then take a look at the Binize magic box ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lCezE5vIeAw.htmlsi=LsJSupkqio6F8SPc and use a file they can supply to change it from CarPlay to Android auto system use.
@CarPlayLife out vehicle has wireless apppe carplay and wired android auto. It also works with carplay when an iphone is connected with a wire. I am confused.
Yes that's right. So once you have CP or AA up and running you connect the BT from your phone to the car stereo. Then wheel controls should work as you're basically controlling your phone at this point, and the phone is casting the CP/AA feed to the display.
@CarPlayLife thanks but just confirm after connecting phone to carpuride for AA is it carpuride to car stereo selecting BT audio from the main menu or phone to stereo via BT?
if it has the option to go from carpuride to car stereo you can try that, but some displays don't work with all BT car stereos so you might run into issues, but it is worth a try. Otherwise, the more reliable option is phone to stereo via BT route.
Sorry no. One question for their support team. Might be just a marketing spin and the device is the same, Or small minor upgrades or accessories that come with it.
Great review - I had 2 questions: 1. If CarPlay or AndroidAuto is connected and you are on the main launcher screen - do you still get notifications? 2. How is the call audio quality?
You'll need a wired CarPlay enabled car stereo and USB port for all of these adapters. They just offer wireless to wired conversion. They can't make a non-carplay system have CarPlay, unless the car system has an android OS and can have apps installed onto the car system.
The magnetic mount is nice (i modded mine to do the same). Really wish someone would add Qi2 charging to the screen so you don’t have to also plug the power cable in every time
I would stay away from PetLibro, the right and the left hand for customer service have no clue what they are doing. I don't like the $12 cost tor return one of the two items that under warranty. Try another feeder to avoid frustration and hours of headaches
What went wrong with yours and is it the same pet feeder as the one in this video? I’ve not had any trouble with mine and I have not needed to deal with their customer service.
Can you delete all of your recordings so, that you will be able to start all over again and free your space back up again ? I was just wondering because, I'm trying write book but, i like recording myself talking first.
Sounds like the ADAS is a gimmick set of features if you recommend turning them off? Also I'm not convinced there's a need for a tiny screen either if you can just use the app? It's currently on sale at a much reduced price on amazon atm, does that make this unbeatable for the spec or any others with better rear cam quality or higher fps front cam at similar price?
This and the Dasaita I reviewed on this channel are great cams. If it’s going cheap then it’s a great deal. The ADAS is a gimmic if you don’t need to rely on them or first time driver.
Im currently struggling to decide between the Carpuride W903, the Eonon P4 and the Lamto 9.26". My biggest priorities are android auto, a rear camera, smooth and responsive display with a good resolution and the ability to stream music via bluethooth so that I can still use my steering wheel controls for media. Any recommendation?
If you have wired CarPlay it should work. These don’t give you CarPlay if you haven’t got it. They only convert wired to wireless for people that have wired CarPlay on the car system.
@@CarPlayLife Thank you Sir! What do you think is currently the best Wireless Carplay adapter for apple carplay? Price doesnt matter. They are so many brands like Ottocast, Carlinkit, Sunweyer, MSXTTLY and so many more. Of all the adapters on the market, which do you think is the best? (car: Mercedes c-class from 2019) Speed, low delay, music quality and fast response time are very important for me.
