It’s not the best input method for sure. I think Apple just added it as a “feature” just because they could. The main thing with the Search feature is that it is the only way to prove you have the 5.5 instead of just the 5th generation.
@@ourfamilyadventure326 ah, almost forgot, the solitaire game also terrible😅 why apple still put that game in their products that only have scroll wheel, but remove it when "touch" ipod comes out
I mean, search function is not a big deal, sellers do not set that feature in the main menu maybe because they don't use that Go for 5, or 5.5 if someone sells it cheaper🤭
I like the Solitaire game as a concept and am able to play that a lot better than that Parachute game! Now Parachute SHOULD NOT have been on the iPod at all 🫤
I believe it is a damaged motherboard. The only thing I could do was replace the whole motherboard. It is really easy to work on these minis, here is my video showing a complete teardown IF you feel comfortable doing it. You would need a new motherboard however to swap it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-70M3C2_WBRw.htmlsi=RUODQzISoic1-Hnc
@@moneyymanetv buy them from a chinese refurbisher... I did and it was less than 60 dollars (5.5) and when I opened it up I saw some quality control stickers on one of the cables and the screen inside. Yes, they put a new screen in the one I bought in 2023. It came only with light scratches on the body which I fully replaced anyway
😢 sorry. Look for the 7th generation online if you can, I know their expensive but sometimes you get lucky. Although like the video says a 6th generation is often shown as a 7th generation and vice versa.
Thanks for this video, i wanted a recorder and wondered why apple didn’t have one cuz the ones on amazon just look cheap and untrustworthy. but i remembered that ipod nano’s had mics.
The Search feature, a brighter screen and a slightly better DAC are the only differences I am aware of. The 5.5 is supposed to have a better sound than the 5th generation.
@ourfamilyadventure326 naw both have the same dac, they both sound the same. its mainly search feature and brighter screen. 5th gen 60gb and 5.5th gen 80gb models also have 64mb of ram while 30gb of both models have 32mb ram(doesn't make much difference except if you have ridiculous amount of songs(like 12k+ songs) 64mb ram will run better.
I appreciate your more in depth explanation. I have always read that the 5.5 sounds slightly better than the 5, although they run neck and neck the 5.5 just barely squeezes past the 5th generation. That is just what I have read though.
No I’m afraid my watch did not make any sounds. Maybe you damaged something minute when you were replacing it? I know this is a very crowded small area to work with. I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance, but I did not have anything happen to mine.
Could U make another video but also taking the case off and showing how the inside has held up. I want to see how the buttons look from the inside, if they’ve came off
Casio has some G-Shock models with a negative display straight from the factory. This video shows how I made my own negative display G-Shock using some film because at that time (~15 years ago) I didn’t find any negative display G-Shocks for sale.
@@ourfamilyadventure326 Your video is real, the watch is a fake Rolex, look up comparison images between real and fake movement. Title is very misleading, you say it yourself it's not the actual sound. You took a sound from a wall clock and put it to a wrist watch video ?
Actually it’s a pocket watch, not a wall clock and there were no Rolex sounds that I found that I could use. Would you rather no sound at all or people talking indistinctly in the background?
I looked up on the interwebs thingy a Rolex 3135 movement and the photo is a dead ringer for the watch in the video. The balance bridge shows a free sprung balance wheel and not a balance wheel with a micrometric regulator as is found in most pocket watches and almost all mechanical watches. A free sprung balance wheel, like what Rolex uses, is adjusted by the weights on the inside of the balance wheel and not by the regulator arm on most mechanical watches. In a traditional mechanical watch movement the balance wheel has weights around the outside of the wheel to balance it OR on newer watches the balance wheel is cut on the bottom to balance it and tiny amounts of metal are shaved away. On these traditional watch movements the hairspring is then attached to an arm on the balance bridge and that arm is then adjusted left or right to make the hairspring stiffer or softer and thus make the watch tick faster or slower. On free sprung watches like the one Louis Breguet made, the regulator arm is not needed as the hairspring and balance wheel are made differently and do not require a regulator arm.
@@ourfamilyadventure326 Each watch has very different ticking sound, so when someone is looking for a rolex sound, it's important to be actual rolex sound. Pocket watches can sound from very cheap to very smooth ticking. All very different.

I did not include this information as it is not valid for the purpose of the video. Regardless of the fact if Apple did or did not say 7th generation that is what it is. I don’t talk about color because some monitors have different hues and some photos are not going to show the color well. I did not talk about operating system or show it because that is not valid to the video. The point of this video is to show someone how to distinguish a 6th generation from a 7th generation based on physical properties like the thickness of the iPod itself and the text difference between the 6th 160 GB and the 7th 160 GB. If someone is looking for a superior 7th generation iPod classic and sees photos online OR finds one at a pawn shop or yard sale there will probably not be any power on it and the outside thickness and smaller font will identify the 6th from the 7th. Also take the iPod shuffle as an example. There are only 4 generations of iPod shuffle but you will see all the way to 7th generation on listings. The physical iPod did not change capacities or physical dimensions, I do not count color changes as a new model. Just because Apple didn’t say something does not mean the public won’t. Thanks for the information.
As far as I am concerned the 7th generation iPod classic is markedly different from the 6th generation because the case thickness changed and the font size for 160GB changed. Because of those two reasons I will always say the 7th generation iPod classic. That is also what I see online, not just my opinion. Thanks for reaching out @ashenridmaranga3724
I’m glad I could help. I did the same thing, bought a 6th generation that I thought was a 7th and that is what prompted me to make this video. I hope you find the 7th generation iPod and enjoy it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Over time magnets do get weaker, but here is a tip if your Apple Watch Milanese loop magnet gets weaker . Go buy a strong magnet or if you have one laying around then that would be perfect, and go ahead and rub the magnet against the magnet part of the band in linear strokes for about 15 minutes and it should realign the domains of the weaker magnet there by making the magnet stronger. hope this helps you save money instead of buying a brand new band.
Thank you so much for the tips! I did want to change the magnet, that was my first thought but the problem is the magnet is so thin and such a small piece that I cannot find something to match it. I could try rubbing it as you suggest and see if that makes any difference at all. Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to comment, have a blessed day.
As far as I know you can use whatever. I just went onto eBay 15 years ago and picked a film that I liked. I don’t think it matters as to brand, but I may be wrong. Thanks for the great question!
Seems a nice rainy weekend for working on Town & Country minivans -- I just did a driver's door window regulator, and front brake pads and rotors on ours. That seems some demented engineering to have to take the entire overhead console down to fix one module. Speaking of modules, they could have made it modular... But the more I've worked on cars, the more I'm convinced the engineers never expect anyone to work on them.
Thank you @JDHood, it sounds like you did much more than I though. I 💯 agree that the screen should have been modular and just been able to be taken down by itself. But after looking at pricing of $800+ for fixing this issue, I said bring it on!!!
Thanks for your comment, the bottom of this flashlight did not open. I tried hard to unscrew it because that was my thought as well, that the bottom opened. Perhaps I will have to find it and put some pliers to the bottom 🤪 Thanks for watching and commenting!
great video. i have module 901 too and i want to use bezel and straps for 5600e like yours. can you give me some tips or cautions? did you used 901's original screw for fixing bezel?
So the E case is physically smaller than the C (901) case. That being said the E bezel will not fit the C case unfortunately. I am not sure exactly about the band because I did not try it, but it probably would fit inbetween the lugs but be too narrow in there. I did use 2 of the original screws for the C case but I had to order new screws because the other 2 were missing. These screws are steel on the steel case and can rust and become stuck inside their threaded bore so be careful not to break the threads off inside the case. So because the E is smaller, the E movement will fit into a C case (with a little bit of space) but the 901 movement WILL NOT fit inside the E case. I also changed out the crystal from the E case to the C case and had to use silicone to seal the crystal in and keep water out. It was ultimately not a hard project overall but I cannot recommend it today because of the cost of those bezels. If you look online the bezels for the DW-5600C cases are ridiculously expensive. You can get the band still, but the bezel is what is nearly impossible to get. I was using a NOS bezel that I had bought a decade ago for not too much. When I went to buy another one, I was blown away by the price!!! If you want to try this modification, let me know if you have any specific problems and I will do my best to help you with it. That is all I can think of at the moment, if there is anything else I can help with, please let me know. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@ourfamilyadventure326 thank you for amazing reply! i'll come and ask later if i got problem while moding :) thank you for your favor and great video again. have a wonderful day!
