I think your pattern and color choices for the quilting were spot on! They turn out well. I am curious about 2 things: First, why did you change threads for the different colors on the border? Second, have you ever quilted a Judy Niemeyer quilt? Specifically the Bali Stars? Or maybe it’s a double wedding ring star?
@quiltingcurvestudio
@quiltingcurvestudio 10 часов назад
I changed colours to help define the tree a little more. The "tree" is colorful and the under tree is grey. My specialty is Quiltworx quilts I do 2 or 3 a month. I am preparing a special class for an upcoming cruise with Susan Smith and Bethanne Nemesh. sbsxperiences.com

Your pebbles are amazing. I have a hard time making them round. I know they say to trace over them but maybe I’m going too fast?
@quiltingcurvestudio
@quiltingcurvestudio День назад
I hte to say this.... but it's practice. I did an entire quilt in pebbles before I started to see progress. There are a couple of different ways to stitch out pebbles, give them all a try, and see which one seems more natural.

I’m having troubling tracing over previous stitches such as on even something as simple as pebbles. My work looks like a 1st grader scribbles. Your pea pods are so perfectly traced. Any advice?
@quiltingcurvestudio
@quiltingcurvestudio 3 дня назад
I understand the frustration 🫤. I wish I could tell you the secret formula, but unfortunately, it's just practice. Be kind to yourself. We all start wobbly and inaccurate. One thing that really forced me to do better was to work on actual quilts, not just practice pieces. You care more about building skills, not just doodling around. It took me an entire quilt covered in pebbles to really start seeing progress. Remember, this is a skill, not just talent. You just gotta keep quilting. ❤️

@@quiltingcurvestudio I spoke with Susan Smith also about this problem that I have and she actually is the one who told me seek you out. I have an old machine with non-regulated stitching. Also, I have no needle up/down button. I have to turn a wheel to raise and lower my needle. These are the two issues that I have with learning ruler work. I'm not sure if ruler work is even possible with these two issues. What do you think?
@quiltingcurvestudio
@quiltingcurvestudio 18 дней назад
@MsSnuffy200 absolutely you can learn ruler work! So much of the time I am start stopping. You can adjust with practice. The folks before us did it! Working unregulated is exactly what you're doing now just with a ruler. We all have to work with what we have, you can do it for sure.
