I need advice. When I get to chichester to get a bus to goodwood if I get an old bus how do I pay 😅 I know it sounds stupid but I never been on those busses
You are spot on re. the driving performance. Took one for a test drive today. Was excited to take it out but ended up very disappointed with the 2 L struggling and revving high to get moving. A lot of rust on the brake callipers too.
Great video and insight into a car I'm currently looking at. I'm split between a BMW 640d and Jag XJ. Big saloons and Gran Coupe type cars have been my favourite since my early twenties. All my mates wanted an M3 or a RS4 but there was me dreaming of an XJ 😂.
I am a proud owner of a black XJ Portfolio of the same age, running it as a limousine for my tour business. Rare here in Northern Ireland, it turns heads and everywhere I go it becomes a talking point with both young and old with everyone agreeing that it's a beauty! Sorry you've had to sell it on lad.
Could you make an updated video for 2024? Thinking of going for the first time okay with standing each day but want to save as much money as possible with being able to see all the cars and time trials!
A really interesting walkthrough of your methodology for filming for your channel. I can appreciate the trial and error that must have taken place in order to narrow it down to these final products. I only learned about the three-foot suction cup mounts recently, I've been wanting to film car videos for so long but have just procrastinated to oblivion. I'm getting much closer to just jumping right in and having ago. I commend you for the quality of your work, it's much higher than many other creators that have been around much longer.
I don't wish to disrespect or question your decision -but, are you now having pangs of regret that you got rid of the Jaaaaaaaaag?. I have an XF 3.0 litre petrol and i absolutely love it to bits and would be ABSOLUTELY gutted if i sold it - so, think how destroyed I'd feel if i had an XJ and then sold it . I'd be as sad as hell. The modern XJ/XF/XK/F-Type are all classically designed cars and will age beautifully just as the E-Type/XK120/140/150 /3.8 S-Type and Mk2 have. Quality and style NEVER go out of favour .❤❤❤❤ PS -My friend had a 2019 XJ Petrol Portfolio and sold it in March 2023 with only 30k on the clock from new -he had tears in his eyes when he handed over the keys to tje Merc dealer and drove off in a 320,he was as miserable as sin for each and every day he owned the Merc. 10 days later he returned the Merc and got his car back -he's now returned to the good humoured person he was originally before he sold the Jaaaaaaaag.
Dumber so-called product vehicles in England, They either don't know or don't care or both & most likely similar to Canada, And completely rules out dealing with the dummy because said jag Dummy don't know what to dumb down to bargain for the final price, this l would never purchase new just like the rest always wait for some other dummy to eat the sucker sticker as well as depreciation on most vehicles. But stupidly funny the dealers dealing these things don't even know what they come with standard or the money Grab option mental disorder.
I had a 2007 S-Type 2.7 In Emerald Fire. Ran it for 10 years and it had everything. Was looking at possibly getting this car. Thanks for your review. I have decided they there is not a hope in hell that I would get on. Jaguar has been trading on a historic view of quality - when in reality, I think I would rather have a Trabant. At least it’s not pretending to be something it’s not!
I'm looking at getting a used XJ. I have heard the V6 is more reliable than the V8. Sure, the V8 is cool for power, but I also don't want to spend all my money in repairs. Aftermarket warranty is where it's at, though. I don't know that a used diesel is available here in Canada, so I guess petrol/gas it is. I actually prefer the older style of Jag, particularly the front end, because it was much more distinctively Jaguar, but they're still beautiful cars and I like that they got hooked up with the touch screen navigation early on, while some Mercedes still don't offer the MBUX and their older system is so outdated and frustrating. Obviously, I'm looking at getting an aftermarket warranty on the Jag I do get, but any tips you have would be really welcomed. I love European and British cars, but I know the UK stuff does have a bad reputation for reliability. I wish they'd get it together and bring back the XJ with a more reliability model.
Cars from Jaguar Land Rover are famed for having electrical problems these days. Think the RRs are more unreliable than the Jags though. Mine never skipped a beat apart from towards the end of ownership the whole electrics used to shut down sometimes for a split second, not enough to be an issue, but was disconcerting, felt like it might get worse. In all honestly though the German stuff is no better though I've had a newer 7 series for 2 years and it's been plagued with problems, electrical, components failing, all expensive stuff, so it seems pretty inescapable. If you get a bad one you get a bad one, not much you can do to prevent it. Extended warranties are okay but read the small print as they're not all created equal. Some aren't worth the paper they're written on. Personally I used the like the old XJ but then they brought out the smaller x type which ruined its credibility and made the looks common. The last XJ still has such presence on the road, looks great, I still admire them when I see them and it's been 4 years since I owned one. Worth the risk in owning one, you'll love it!
I have had a r sport for the last 3 half years not a single problem put it in sport and checked flag and it goes fast enough on British roads plenty of kit further money it's not a rolls for noise but neither is a merc or bmw had a go in a glc and gave it back it was slow and the breaks felt like wood and the x4 wasn't much better I've had a evouge and a xf jag and this fpace and they are are all fine by me
Hmm I’da kept the Jag if I was you in fact your first words are “ you could be excused for not realising what this car is” why would you ever want that? Nobody would ever mistake the Jag for being anything other than a Jaaaag.
Apparently there was already a product in the UK known as "Plast-X", so Meguair's relabelled the product as "PlastRX" just for you guys, hence your double label. BTW, the stuff is for CLEAR plastic, that's why it isn't doing what you want!!
