I've been diagnosed with MS and LEMS (Lambert-Eaton syndrome), they both have almost the same symptoms. I was supposed to start Ocrevus treatment for MS. But I just called (just before I posted this) and told them, "Let's hold off on that", until I can get a 2nd opinion. Half a dozen reasons: Having 2 diseases with the exact same symptoms? Possible, but not as likely: If I do have both, MS treatment alone is probably not going to do anything (Ocrevus does not treat LEMS); If I do take MS treatment and treatment for LEMS, could there be a reaction of the 2 drugs? I have heard a lot about MS being misdiagnosed (My neurologist is not a specialist in MS). Everyone I have watched on RU-vid says they were given a choice of treatment. Not me! We are putting you on Ocrevus. End of story. Throwing the dice for all the side effects I've heard about Ocrevus when I'M thinking it may not work anyway because of LEMS (if I even have that?). Yeah....NO!

What is the role of CCSVI Venous Hypertension and proper/improved Cerebrospinal Blood flow?? #CCSVI #BloodFlowMatters TY DR CCSVI is definitely one of the causes of MS. The novelty for some years is that we are certain that, after studying at the La Sapienza University of Rome, there are 3 types of CCSVI: * a 1 type with patients suffering from an obstacle to the endovacular venous discharge, i.e. due to congenital or acquired anomalies that restrict and block the drainage of the investigated veins (jugular, vertebral, azygos) * a 2nd type with patients suffering from an extra-vascular venous obstruction, i.e. due to external compression of the vessel * a 3 type with patients suffering from endo-vacular and extra-vascular venous obstruction So to simplify we can say that there is a CCSVI of the "hydraulic" type (1 type), a CCSVI of the "mechanical" type (2 type) and a "mixed" CCSVI of the two previous types (3 type), the 2 and the 3 type represent about 85% of cases. A patient with type 1 CCSVI will have a greater indication for angioplasty treatment, a patient with type 2 CCSVI will have a specific indication for specific physiotherapy decompressive treatment (RIMA Method), a patient with type 3 CCSVI it will have an indication for both an endo-vascular dilatation treatment and an extra-vascular decompression treatment. The RIMA Method devised by Dr. Domenico Ricci of Bari is able to release compressed veins throughout their course, as shown by a publication of June 2015 after a one-year study (Internal jugular Venous Compressione Syndrome: hemodynamic outcomes after cervical vertebral decompression manipulations-Pubmed). Hi! I'm 72 and have had MS since age 29 when there were no MRIs or DMT's - first symptoms were TM treated w/ steroids and recovered 97%. I did have other relapses after but didn't know what they were and I recovered w/out steroids. When the last relapse didn't remit 15 years agp but worsened I was on Copaxone for years and am now on Kesimpta for 2 years. My symptoms have traveled up my body so it is now toe to head. It advertises as for SP (my last relapse never remitted but continues to worsen) and my ms neuro said that this addresses SP. Is the advertising bogus? Was my llast ms neuro mistaken? t I saw a new ms neuro recently who said that K does not treat any progressive MS and that there are no meds for PP or SP and she would have me return to Copaxone - that K is too dangerous for me at my age because of infections - I have had 1 - thrush in my throat that has created problems w/ spasms in my throat. I have looked at the studies of aging folks w/ ms and seems the study is somewhat inconclusive and I do not want "new problems./lesions/brain damage" You mentioned that there was something for PP but didn't say wnat it was. And you didn't mention any DMT for SP. Are there any? As you mentioned every neuro has their own "opinion" about things, esp w/ it comes to these phenotypes and interpretation of studies. Confused. I'm interested in your thoughts! Thank you!

Good comments so I figure I'll add for posterity .... I am a male diagnosed w/ MS at 55. From NY living in SoCaL for past 12 yrs. I had tingly hands and feet for a year and thought diabetes... Had a bad attack after a flight, when I got home and saw the Dr I got an MRI for ultimate MS diagnosis. After one year... Dr unsure if RR or PP. Time will tell. Taking full med right out of the gate (Rituximab and daily Gabapentin), I get flares but never get back to "baseline". Just gotta fight the fight.~ Meds, Diet, exercise, no stress. I don't have a lot of strength or ability to work hard, cog fog, with a little bit of trbl walking. I watch a lot of Dr Aaron Bolster on YT to learn. My neurologist (younger male) doesn't have a very good bed side manner. I think I have Primary MS but at a yr in it is hard to tell.

Neurology is as subjective as MS itself. Don't rush to believe, or not to, a diagnosis, just based on a few generic tests. I've had rrms, spms and now ppms. Every Dr, of the 8 I've had, has their own opinions and they've almost never agreed. I've also used almost all the mainstream ms meds including Lemtrada and Rituxamab. B-cell depletion therapy is the ultimate for ms, especially with stem cell transplant, but there's no guarantee. Your ms will change and evolve from within you. Do your own research but not off the internet gossip columns but from John's Hopkins, Mayo Clinic and specialist Like them.

I was diagnosed with MS 11 years ago, but because my MS was very mild, I was in denial that I had it. For years, I thought I was misdiagnosed. I took my medications sporadically and, during Covid stopped taking them for about 18 months. Recently, I started feeling numbness in both feet and two fingers on my dominant hand. I rushed to start taking treatment again, but I am nervous that I stayed in denial and relaxed with taking my meds for too long. I am taking prednisone for the numbness, but it isn't working at all. I am hoping the numbness will remit soon, but I will be certain to stay on my meds this time. No more bs denial; I have the disease.

This woman is so giving the wrong impression about rrms . I had it for 20+ yrs before I became spms . Not once did I return to baseline after a relapse . Most people ( especially over time and repeated relapses) don’t go back to baseline . They are left with some disability or problem which never goes back to normal . This is why over time your disability worsens and problems increase . Like bladder weakness , worsening mobility , lack of finger dexterity and cognition problems . This woman over and over repeats how you go back to being a normal person between relapses which for nearly all ms’ers just isn’t true and gives an untrue picture to people newly diagnosed .
