This stupid theme kept playing in my head just now during my very first college history exam. I love it. It kept telling me to go on and answer because everything was gonna be all right. I couldn't remember some of the names, and probably got more than 3 wrong, I still know my stuff. I love this movie. I prefer it over the Broadway version.
I only first saw this film around about 2000. Was surprised when I learned that it was a flop cos it didn't deserve to be. Freaking awesome movie and a damn good story.
My Junior Year of high school, one of the cast member in this movie, David Sidoni, choreographed our show choir show and came back to judge as well when we hosted our annual show choir competition. That was 2004 🤭looove this movie still!! 2024 here (Dang, 20 years ago!?)

I love this musical and especially this song it is the best song in the musical(and personally i prefer this version of the song to the broadway one) .It makes me cry every time because you can see then doing their jobs and showing everyone they deserve to be heard.And when it says " this ain't just newsies no more" i almost cry every time and i know it sounds dumb but its so meaningful because like the strike has spread so far because so many people listened to what the kids had to say - which no one usually did - and it showed so many other people they matter and deserve to be treated better.All the kids in sweatshops, factorys, slaughterhouses and shining shoes on the street were able to strike because of the newsies and everyone joined the strike - making it the largest child led strike in history.I love the newsies so much ❤
