It ended before the best part! Jack: Hey Race Racetrack: hey Jack Jack: how was your day at the track? Race: remember that hot tip I told ya about? Jack: yeah Race: yeah well no one told the horse
The only reason this movie failed at the box office was because it had bad timing. no body wanted to watch a movie musical in the early ninties that wasnt a disney princess movie. If they put this movie out today, im pretty sure it would be really popular
you know he originally learned a lasso dance for this number, and he spent like a month learning it and they CUT IT OUT at the last minute! Thumbs up if you would've loved to see Batman lasso dance!
@julezsnight Actually, he knows where is family is. Mum's dead, Dad's in jail. I think the question Mezi was actually asking was why did they pick Santa Fe of all places, why not just California or something? And to answer the question, I'm guessing it's simply because there were several popular comic books out at the time about the cowboys. They even gave Jack one of these books to add to his character. Plus, the West was still full of adventure at the time, and he just wanted out of New York
Im 19 now, 12 years younger than this movie. This song was my childhood, and no matter how much i love jeremy jordan, i cant listen to the Broadway version because the lyrics are wrong to my brain
@TwillyTwills It's Horace Greeley, the journalist and author, that put the idea in Jack Kelly's mind. If you recall, the opening shot in the movie is of a plaque beneath the statue of Greeley in the square outside the "The New York World." The plaque bears the famous quotation, "Go west, young man." The saying was an important part of American history and of the closing of the American frontier.
This is when I fell enlove with Christian Bale. The best cast. So many amazing dancers and actors: Brian F, Kevin S,Dominic L, Ivan D ,Aaron Lohr, Trey Parker.......
@Elaizzle This film only got a bad rep because it failed at a box office but I agree that it is a brilliant film and Christian should not put it down , never understood it myself!
@mezipe64 Because he thinks his parents are living there, trying to find a place to live, he just wants to go home with his parents, and....it rhymes with the rest of the song :D
@mezipe64 jack wants to go to Santa Fe because (earlier in the film) Jack tells David that his parents went there [Santa Fe] to find land there to live on, and he said that they were going to call for him to join them on their new home.
@JennaisMrsK2 Because he's known as cowboy. Sooo I think he's interested in that kind of lifestyle and it's more laid back than New York. I don't know, just an idea.
@mobers11 eeehhh, that's kind of an overstatement. part of it had to do with simply a bad storyline, and bad performances by great actors (sorry, but Christian Bale DID say he hated this movie). But hey, it's a cult classic now, right?
As My sister calls it: The solo noone cares about. However I highly suspect that if it was sung by someone who wasn't Jack she'd love it........ She doesn't Like Jack for some reason....
