Seen them in Glasgow this year and was blown away compared to this - think the mix is really bad, it's like the mixing engineer was only given a room mic and OH's to mix all elements lol
This group was so good. I love their song Train Wreck. I remember I got to meet Death From Above. They both were really friendly & down to earth guys. I got a CD signed by them & even took my pic with them. :)
??? Yeah this isn't music. They should be called "Death from Listening to this". lol. I've never liked drummers who think they are capable enough to have only one cymbal or lack skill behind the drum set. Amazing voice though. lol
he's gotten way better at balancing the vocals and drums in the decade since. saw them last year and he wasn't struggling for breath the whole time like he always seemed to be 10 years ago lol

Love their albums but the moment they go on stage, both the drums and the vocals suffer. I get the whole duo/tandem power thing but it does not work for them anymore; specially in this type of venues. The drums are constantly rushing or dragging while the vocals are always in effort. It’s a shame they don’t realize that.
I'm presently learning how to play Bass. I'd love to be able to play like Jesse with that sound! My ultimate goal is to beat these guys to finding the brown frequency
Wish I could have gotten a show like this. When I caught them in Vancouver around this time, January 2015 I believe, Sebby was so hammered he was practically falling off his stool and couldn't keep time for shit. And not like on the CBC demo from 2003, where the tempo changes add to the intensity. The songs were constantly on the brink of completely falling apart. Also, to describe his singing that night as "off-key" would be extremely generous. It was a mess. I was coming down from a speed binge, my girlfriend was pissed at me and I was pissed at the band. All in all, not a stellar night. Didn't expect them to last much longer after that, but thanks to RU-vid I now know my experience was an anomaly.
