Oh my gosh, where & how did you get this?! I’ve never seen it!! I was living off that 30 second clip for years. Do you reckon it’s worth trying to contact NBC for an unwatermarked one? 👀 Thank you for uploading!
I am crying while watching this! she looks so small yet such a powerful voice comes from her. Red and Blue will be always my favorite underrated album. But as someone who follows gaga since 2010 (or 2009 i don't remember clearly i was a child lmao) watching her grown in the big star that she is today just makes me feel so proud of her. I always have this joke with my mom that gaga raised me, but sometimes i just feel that we raised ourselfs together. anyway, i love her so much and watching her in this video just bring me to tears, she has come so far
Finally! Thank you so much, I've been looking for this full performance since my teens. I love the sound of her voice in her younger years, and how it gradually evolved into her powerhouse voice nowadays
"No Floods" Stefani Germanotta (Live) [Verse 1] I never ever thought I'd live away From everybody that I love and say goodbye Now I'm the princess of a downtown train Where everybody here, they know my game But when I walk down the street I hear them say "There she goes, that crazy girl... She thinks she's something in this world." So I'mma close my ears and dream 'cause life is never really what it seems In every mystery, there's a truth You know I'm telling, I'm telling you, uh-uh [Chorus] No matter lightning or thunder Buckets of rainwater You can't flood this town In a world unknown, you've got to hold your own Yeah, you can't stop me You're never, ever, ever gonna stop me now [Verse 2] On every street there is a memory A time and place where we can never be again, uh-uh-uh-oh Street lights glow red, green and yellow too Do you let signs tell you what to do? Yeah, when you say stop, be sure that I'll say "go" To the stars and land Fire can't burn these hands But I just close my eyes and dream You can't deny me, my strong mean Hey In every mystery, there's a truth You know I'm telling, I'm telling you, uh-uh [Chorus] No matter lightning or thunder Buckets of rainwater You can't flood this town In a world unknown, you've got to hold your own And you can't stop me You're never, ever, ever gonna stop me now [Bridge] Go ahead and don't believe 'Cause everyone needs a way to breathe, and love, and dream And you can't stop me You can't stop me [Chorus] No matter lightning or thunder Buckets of rainwater You can't flood this town In a world unknown, you've got to hold your own And you can't stop me You're never, ever, ever gonna stop me now [Outro] I never ever thought I'd live away from everybody that I love and say goodbye
The upload of this video would not have been possible without the amazing and tirelessly-working Gagadaily moderators ChicaSkas and Sara! Chica and Sara operated the Gagaverse site for over a decade, which contained interactive archives of every Gaga forum and community. It unfortunately shut down earlier this month, although I downloaded most of them and I plan on making them available for download at some point. Thank you all so much!
As I mentioned in the description, this is Gaga's best lyricism. To so delicately intertwine the Katrina diaspora with her own experiences of ostracism takes so much talent, and I would love it if she published a book of poetry full of masterpieces such as this. Some background: Hurricane Katrina struck the coastal regions of Louisiana and Mississippi on August 29, 2005. The city of New Orleans, Louisiana, which lies below sea level, suffered catastrophic failures of its protective levees, leading to 80% of the city being submerged in water. Worst affected was the Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood, where most residents had no choice but to stay as they did not have cars with which to evacuate. Most of the 1,392 deaths caused by Katrina were elderly residents who were wheelchair-bound and drowned in their own homes. It was a catastrophe that led to thousands of displaced New Orleans residents moving elsewhere, creating a diaspora, particularly in Texas. I have a personal connection with Katrina. I was born in Mobile, Alabama, and remember watching the fierce wind from the window of my kitchen. My mom worked at Keesler Air Force Base in nearby Biloxi, Mississippi, a town that was utterly annihilated by a 30-foot storm surge. A third of her coworkers and friends lost everything they had, and the sight of children's toys being bulldozed into trash heaps broke her. We moved to Upstate New York in 2008. I connect to No Floods personally as well. I was separated from my friends and school environment at 15, and for years wished for my life to simply return to normal. For three years I had no dreams of who I would become, I simply wanted to not be sexually abused and live in fear every single day. "On every street there is a memory / A time and place where we can never be again" Gaga *gets it* I saw every song I listened to, every public location I visited, everyone I met, as an opportunity to reconnect with my past, to have everything be as it was again. Of course, that was impossible. I will never forget what happened to me. I survived, but with deep scars I still have not overcome, and likely never completely will. To anyone caught in a similar situation: you might not be able to see a way out, and at worst there might not be a way out for some time. Do not lose grip on hope. Remember - you have felt happiness before. You will feel it again.
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE 😭😭😭 SO MUCH TIME WAITING FOR THIS! WE NEED MAKING VIRAL THIS, DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FROM GAGA AND STARLIGHT LIVE AT LOLLAPALOOZA IN 2007????? THANK U FOR UPLOAD THIS
