such nostalgia! this album is so special and so is this song. i remember my life being beautiful as a kid, listening to this album. now things have changed,i changed, the problems of my life got bigger but i still cant forget the way this album made me feel (: endless love for gaga. what a special woman.
@@xXmlgamingXx355 She leaked this version, it was the intended version at the time because the album wasn't done yet; actual Burqa leak was years later
I know right! She wanted it as the lead single and the Telephone sequel, but the label didn't allow it. That made sense though, as the song is not radio friendly and likely would've sparked controversy due to the religious element. But still, BorisIsHere! 😂
@@benjaminadler8488 it's crazy to know now that the real Telephone sequel was MANiCURE and we spent all these years thinking it was Aura omg... but she was so iconic as Boris for one day, Aura deserved more 😭
This video always cheers me up but it's also quite sad to know that there really won't be another moment like this. Leaks are everywhere now, but more importantly, Gaga's fans from this time have grown up and are now adults. I was 12 when Aura leaked, and had my own moment of joy (although not quite as loud as this one lol) and now I'm 23. The mediums through which fans interact have changed, as have the fans themselves, and Gaga herself has changed too, although not always in ways we anticipate. ARTPOP, Joanne, A Star is Born, and Chromatica have all radically shifted the fanbase. Some fans have left after years of stanning, disappointed by the material or even lack thereof. I know that is not fair to Gaga but I can understand where they are coming from. Her first three albums were revelations, and all fans unite around them, but her passions have changed, and she now seems keen on focusing on an acting career. That is wonderful for her, but I'll always feel nostalgic for the early years. I hope Gaga, in whatever she does, continues to gain fans and appreciation for her hard work. She has changed and shaped my life and those of countless others around the world. I would've loved to have known other Gaga fans when I was younger, and in a sense, through this video, I get a glimpse. The joy they felt and the common love they shared is heart melting. So thank you Timothy Alexander Cox, for bringing together other fans to capture this iconic moment that will live forever in Gaga lore and pop culture. And thank you, Little Monsters, for supporting each other through all sorts of times and always having fun. And most of all, thank you, Mother Monster, for being our idol, our inspiration, and our hope. Many of us would not be here without you, and we will always love you. Paws up forever!
I've been a fan since 2019 so I didn't get to experience the "real" Gaga and fandom... I support her forever but nothing will ever top her first 4 eras- connection with fans (which i didnt get to experience) performances, outifts, tours, music itself... ah i guess thats what happens, people change :(
Man, this made me so emotional. I heard the original Aura leak through this video when it came out. Times were so different. So much nostalgia, so much love.
I was a hater during the Born This Way era, which is my favorite nowadays. It sucks to remember that I didn't appreciate such a creative and majestic period in her career.
This version is actually different to the burqa leak I’ve heard on RU-vid!! You can hear Gaga scream on some words in the first verse and the part where she goes “more than enough” is elongated. I double checked and I’m 100% certain that this version they’re listening to is different. BUT I thought it sounded oddly familiar. And then I remember, this is EXACTLY how Gaga performs aura during some of her concerts! I always thought, listening to her, it was interesting she would often scream on some words, let alone the same ones every time, and now I know the reason why!!
I used to watch this video over and over when I was 16. At the time I didn't have any friends who were into Gaga so I would watch this and it was like I was freaking out with them. Radio ARTPOP was such a highlight during that time for me
I miss this era of being a stan, I recognize most of these faces but honestly couldn’t tell you their names anymore except one of the girls I think was Jessica?? Being a teen on Twitter just losing our minds of Gaga, good times. I’m still on Twitter at 25 but this was the peak.
You're very welcome! It was blocked on the original channel, and all the Twitter reposts were from suspended accounts! By some miracle, the Internet Archive had it saved and I ripped it with a Chrome extension. Tricky work but I'm glad it's here now!
Some people are wondering where these amazing folks are now. Tim still has two channels, his personal one (Tim Alexander) and an old, defunct one (POPULOVE). He returned with a new show called Gaga Talk in the lead up to LG6/Chromatica, with Justin as co-host, but he ended it due to other work. He also has an account on the new Gaga forum, POPa911, but I'm sad to say he hasn't been active there for quite some time. He has been very open about his struggles with depression, and we should wish him the best and respect his privacy. Justin, as mentioned, co-hosted the second show, but I haven't found him online since. Jessica is a personal fitness trainer and Derek is in a happy relationship. Mary Rose and Casey weren't regulars on Radio ARTPOP, so their whereabouts are a complete Enigma.mp3. I will not be posting any other last names or social medias out of a respect for privacy.
… I love how we went crazy and people started banging on our doors and coming in to check on our health… out of annoyance or concern.. one or the other 😂
I remember this so much. I wasn’t part of Radio Artpop, but I downloaded Burqa as soon as it leaked. I knew it was called Burqa because of her ****q** tweet. And it was originally “Awrah” not aura. She had to change it to be less offensive. (Awrah is what is and isn’t allowed in Islam, so behind the Awrah is kind of like “behind the law”) I still have the original leak, the one they’re listening to here. I think I had it on repeat until ARTPOP dropped. And then I didn’t like the album version as much. 😅 ARTPOP was one hell of an era, I really wish more people appreciated it. 2013 was the best year of my fuckin’ life, ARTPOP just made it that much better.
That is so cute. I had the same type of interaction with the fans of Christina Aguilera back when I joined the French community of fans. From 2005 to 2012 or 2013.. Fandoms were tribes, supporting and sweet, now it’s way too toxic. I’m over 30 now all artists deserve the spotlight.
'Burqa' was a great song, but she had to change it to 'Aura' due to some backlash by the Islamic community. She had wrote it to be an empowering anthem for women, but it turned out to give the wrong message and seemed to sexualize Muslim women. So, we were given 'Aura'.
Im not gonna lie, Artpop was hard for me to wrap my head around. It was a very diffrent departure for gaga. It has only been in the last few years that ive come to realize what an epic experience Artpop was and is. And now I love it of course. I loved it then but I didnt understand it..... 💗💓💕💖 This video make me feel the nostalgia
is it possible to be friends with you? I'm just depressed that time like this has gone i feel everything is different now. i also write music and want someone to listen to it. can we be friends
