I struggle to just do one task, i even get dressed to do a certain task, but the paralysis just kicks in, and i get that same fear. I'm 63 recently diagnosed AuADHD, i also suffer crippling anxiety and serious depression, that stop me leaving the house, sometimes my bedroom. Im scared of people as it is, that comes from terrible bullying during my life, physical during my schooling, (i was the school punchbag) and mental in my adulthood, right up to 3 years ago that lead to me going sick from my 36 year bus driving career in UK, and ultimately i was dismissed last year, and effectively im now retired, but still 4 years away from my state pension, that i may not get if our new govt get their way. Im married to a lovely Thai lady , who lives at our house in Northern Thailand, whilst im still in UK, as i was here when i got so mentally ill. I live with my elderly sick mum as her primary carer. And this paralysis hits me when im asked to do jobs for her. Also , i got badly scammed last year, so now im scared of everything. I havent seen my wife since July 2023. As for choice paralysis. I am so bad with this, and i end up making choice that i later regret. I hate being me

100% happens to me too. I will avoid small talk like a plague when having social interactions with people, but as soon as I find my zone (far away from small talk) in a conversation I feel like the most interesting and charismatic person ever.

I recently started meds that have helped with this a lot. It seems to happen randomly. Some days are worse than others, and I can get irritable when people talk to me on those days. Probably because it's so hard to participate in conversations and I can't keep up or process what they're saying. What's scary is that it also happens a lot when I'm driving. One minute, I'm pulling out of my driveway, and then I suddenly realize I'm exiting the highway on the other side of town. How fast was I driving? Did I run any lights? Did I cut anyone off? HOW THE FUCK DID I GET HERE?!? Thankfully, it seems that I'm a fairly good driver when I'm on autopilot. I haven't gotten any tickets, or gotten into any accidents, and no one ever honks at me, so I'm guessing my basic survival instincts kick in and drive the car while my mind is... wherever it goes. That's actually one of the things that helped me to see that my meds were working, because I'm finally able to remain mentally present on the way to pick up my kid from school.

Was super surprised to see the title! Going through unexplainable pains, recently came to know hyper mobility is the issue. and I really think I have ADHD. Though I m doing yoga since so long however there is soreness in the body most of the times. Haven’t found anything more resonating as much I did with this audio. Thanks a ton

Thanks, I needed to hear some of this. I'm struggling a bit with my ADHD husband at the moment. I wish there were more support out there for the partners too, because I never hear mentioned that we have to give up what we need and our dreams to live with them, or at least that's where I'm at. I'm learning. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done.

I’m really upset at the moment because I got shit for swearing in an adhd support server. How can they not empathize? Your video really helped me. It’s nice to have somebody that understands. Apparently I also have issues accepting rules that I don’t understand. Interestingly, 3 people don’t gang up on me because of the actual swearing but because I chose to have a conversation about it.
@skylivingwithadhd

Hey, that really stinks about what happened in the ADHD support server. Rules can be tough, especially when they seem a bit off. Glad the video was helpful for you though! It's weird how talking about stuff can sometimes backfire, right? Keep your chin up and keep being you! 🤗

That's really helpful. It's easy to get lost in the negative thinking patterns. Easy to mistake being trapped in that loop of pain as something good for you in some twisted way, because you 'deserve it for x reason'. Everyone needs to break out of it by themselves, by clinging on to something positive for you. Even thought it's nice to have somebody else to help you out, no person should be the anchor to stop the negative pattern, you have to search and learn how to anchor yourself.

I found out early in life that I could never work under someone else. That's just not my thing. I like to work at my own pace. So I quit my job and tried a bunch of stuff that genuinely intrigues me... and ended up doing all of them 😅 Now I have multiple interests and multiple sources of income. I basically gave in to my ADHD and it’s worked wonders for me. I truly feel fulfilled... doing 10 different things I love. 😅

oh my god, i laugh hard at myself. this is mad. right at the time you said "there are 3 types of ADHD paralysis..", i said to myself, "okay, lets here this one. i am curious which one i might had experienced..." ... Then I smelled a rice getting burnt from somewhere, then bite my nails, then stopped bitting cause i noticed it is not clean, then i am everywhere then on my thoughts, then i suddenly remembered i am listening here. and you already finished the 3 types, and here i am heard nothing. Now I will go play this video again.
