Hi, bathing my potatoes right now according to your instructions and was wondering about the quite tight part? I tightened mine down, I really cranked them because I heard it on one of these videos ( turn down to be yours but I had to search because I watched so many 😂) I think you're the only one who said to crank them down, now this is my first time canning anything sorry for my ignorance LOL. But do you have any details about when to crank them and when not to?
Thank you for sharing your method! I have yet to try water bath canning, but am excited to have some ready-made food to have on hand. My sister in law's parents are from Manitoba, your accent sounds similar! Greetings from Ohio 🙃
Thank you for sharing! This Christmas I tried canning turkey rice soup for the first time. Didn't work out to good. I cooked it all up in two weeks because the rice was getting squishy. Tasted great but didn't look good. I never thought of just making the broth then add to ingredients in the jar I'm going to try that next time. I always heard you should add the pasta after. Have you done this process before? I love the idea of it. Still figuring out what rules are fake and what our grandparents alway did.
Thank you! I'm wondering is there anything that needs to be done before they go into the jars Such as adding extra water, vinegar, or draining the grease or even adding salt?
To be honest I have never done pint jars, but I do know that if you choose to not add salt or vinigar you need to water bath for 3 hour, even the pints.
I watched another video she used pint jars and added 1 tsp vinegar and 1/2 tsp salt. Make It Make is her RU-vid Channel if you'd like to watch hers. :)
Your videos are great, such clear explanations. If you waterbath ground beef for 3 hours using 500ml jars, how long would you waterbath using 1000ml jars please?
My friend does a lot of that and he puts a lot of jars in a 55 gallon barrel with a wood fire and takes them out the next day and never has any problems. Tomato sauce to. Thanks
What size jars are these? They look like some I have that are 1 and 1/2 pints. Every water bath recipe I've seen that requires vinegar adjusts the amount of vinegar for the size of the jar. I would like to do pints.
Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial on canning pumpkin. You make it look easy and I will be trying this with my Seminole Pumpkins I grew this year. Thank you!
Nice video. I would like to know if you have ever water bath canned asparagus. Would it be the same method as carrots? Add vinegar to the jars then water bath for 2 hours.
