My pump leaked recently so I took it apart to check all part which seem to be all fine, including O-Rings. But, when I went to put the control valve back in it would not fit properly and when I tightened it the control knob wouldn't turn. I suspect it is a problem with the plastic inside wearing away but I couldn't see into the narrow tube. Any thoughts? I figure I need a replacement pump.
1:25 how are you able to reach this attachment point? 1:37 how to attach the wires to the tent correctly? how do you pack it up afterward? This is more of an advert than actual instructional video....
Why make the pump plastic? Plastic threads strip too easily. Msr should make a pump option that is full metal. Would totally pay extra for the added security
what t f ?!? the inner tent and then the outer tent ??? i cant believe that is true - nobody who was on an outdoor trip would do or buy somethin like that ... what do u do if its rainin ??? everytime u have to setup the outer tent 1st and then the inner tent - so nothing will com in the inner tent that shouldnt ...
I have 7 Whisperlites, so I know what you are experiencing. Pull it out using pliers (take care not to pinch the cable). If it just will not come out, remove the jet and needle, and drip several drops of a 50/50 mix of acetone and auto transmission fluid into the fuel line at the jet end. Let the line sit, with the generator end above the fuel line for a couple hours to overnight. Tapping the fuel line every so often helps release any air. Try to pull it out again. If it doesn't want to budge repeat the 50/50 mix process. Let it sit and try pulling it out again. After the cable is out, using a syringe or carefully dripping, either work some acetone into the fuel line with the cable or flush the fuel line with acetone which will evaporate quickly. Wipe the cable very well with a clean rag. Put a drop of mineral oil (baby oil or pump lube) on it then wipe it again. Put a drop of mineral oil into the fuel line then reinsert the cable. Be sure not to fully insert the cable into the fuel line, leave about 1/4 to 3/8 inch out. Cable may be tough to insert around the generator and pliers may be useful
Hey @MSRGear, I am able to push air trough a new filter, tho I am blowing really hard as mentioned in the other comments.. Could we get an answer about this please?
My Hubba Hubba leaks like a sieve and MSR customer service basically threw up their hands and said "Not our problem". My NF and REI tents do not leak. Do not buy MSR tents unless you want junk and poor customer service.
I got this. Used it a few times, and now it produces only a blue flame that blows off just looking at it. Very expensive, and stopped working after light use a few times, boiling water. Not worth the money at all. I tried to contact MSR from europe, impossible.
Ok so you are showing how to readjust the fibres if they get messed up a little. Title is misleading. Back to look for a video that actually is about repairing holes, not thread smushiness.
This guys voice is amazing. It reminded me of the song "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)", also known as "The Sunscreen Song". This is a genuine compliment.
@Msr: could you please update your only product video of this tent? This video is from 2017 🫣😬 Today we are in 2024. Hasn t you developped your tent since than??
I've spent days scrubbing off the flaking seam tape that fell in my tent like dandruff so I could reseal it with Gear Aid Seam Grip. I thought I'd done a great job and then the tap starts going on the fly and I'm going to have to repeat the process. Dude that was a bad choice for construction of a high priced tent.
why aren t you telling us that the floor fabric of the bikepack version is only 20D thick vs. the backpack version of the same tent is 30D! That is kind of a dealbreaker for some.
Why the mesh roof again? This looks like old HP version that was too hot in summers and dripped moisture from the fly into the trnt through the roof mesh
I have 2 of the stainless steel pots & I'm very careful not to pick them up by the handle without a cloth I don't particularly want to get blisters & burns......overall YES very good cookware highly recommended
1.35 min video and tent not in focus. What for me these girls, I don't know them and I don't like them totally. Professionals? Ha, for what? Stupid video. I don't want buy the MSR tent, bad web-site, bad video, bad marketing.
Had the fuel line fail after 20yrs and sent it in for repair. I was waiting for the e mail on the repair cost and my stove arrived. They fixed it for free even though I was totally okay with paying the $35.
