While Deadpool 3 isn't necessarily the stuff dreams are made of, in its buoyant flights of fancy, it does betray a welcome attempt to dream just a little bigger.

I understand this video and it really stuck with me and my conflicting feelings when going to see this movie. Unfortunately, most of the "ma and pa" theaters have gotten really run down... I saw D&W at my local Regal... The tickets costed 22 dollars for a afternoon matinee... A medium popcorn and a water to share was 17 dollars. A grand total of $61 to see a film in a theater. It's tough to justify the drive time to the theater too. I am just super glad the other movie seers had great etiquette. With that said... I am glad to see the new movie, but this is why I do not go often. The last Film I watched was The boy and the heron in Dec. Before that I think it was the TMNT movie in 2023. I seem to only seen 2/3 movies a year now. It sucks because I have great memories of watching all kinds of movies at the theater with my friends and family. Will I still go to the movies, yes. Will I go to the movies more than a handful of times a year? Probably not.
I'm agreed with almost everything that you said because it's nothing wrong with going to the movies to support because in the words of the lovely Nicole Kidman: "Heartbreak feels so good in a place like this." Plus, I'm also agree with you that you don't have to go see every single movie when it's come out in theaters, however, it nothing wrong with waiting on streaming or go on a cheap day (which means $6 ticket.) Another thing is that yes even though, theaters is slowly but surely coming back to life, but I'm think the reason why some people don't go to the movies much because two things: 1. People living check to check (cause of bills, food, etc.), and 2. Because nowadays movie tickets are expensive and some people are particular to watch. Not only that, the other reason why last year (2023) was a little rough year is because of huge number of the year's films significantly underperformed at the box office, attributed to high budgets, low marketing due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, and superhero fatigue. Overall, I'm respectably understand where you coming from though, because I like to go to the movies cause it's a treat and my happy place as well.
@@DanMarinaraManignore him he’s is trying to gaslight himself into thinking super isn’t cannon dispite literally being stated by the creator that it is
I think the premise and source material of the show has some amazing potential but was executed very poorly, could have done some really awesome things with Gohan, Piccolo, Adult Gotenks, Pan should’ve went Ssj, Gogeta should’ve got the win not the spirit bomb, but SSJ4 is cool in my opinion combining the primal power of Saiyans with super saiyan
@@DanMarinaraMan Sucker Punch do aknowledge Sly Cooper but with how focus they are on Ghost of Tsushima it's unlikely we will see them for a very long time as for Insomniac they still do Rachet and Clank but Marvel had been stuck with them for a while so we may see less of him despite Superhero fatigue exists
@@joelbarraclough6689 I think Insomniac is crazy for just how many quality games they can keep pushing out. But I agree with Sucker Punch. I love Ghost of Tsushima, but would also love to see Sly Cooper back!
I m say the crashing part:Astro was flying on his shape with all the bots but the alien then destroyed the others ship leaving parts and we have to find the bots at ships to defeat them once and for all (Astro bot crashing making him knockout lucky the foxbot woke him up it was his time to defeat his old enemy’s aka the bosses in Astro bot rescue mission and it would be astros turn to defeat his enemies once for all)
I'm honestly hyped for the new Mario Party coming out. The selection and size of the boards seem like a return to form for the series. I grew up on the Gamecube Mario Partys, and I've been constantly underwhelmed by any boards from Mario Party 9 and on. All the side modes also promise a very full Mario Party experience, and I couldn't be happier! Overall I'm just so happy we still have great switch titles to look forward to this late into the systems life. We're going out with a bang!
It’s wild to me that so many switch titles are coming out even this close to the end. I haven’t really been overly stoked on Mario Party in a while. While I do play the new ones occasionally it’s more my personality to get excited about games to binge play.
I liked the very free conversational tone of this video. You talking about memories as they came to you was a very comfortable watch. It also made me think about all these shows I used to watch all the time in high school, but don't as much these days (I still will throw on Impractical Jokers as easy to watch, background noise type of show). The last time I was in a hotel I watched a bunch of Parks and Rec, which was a great trip down memory lane! Just a quality show and cast. Surprising to hear Ridiculousness isn't on anymore. I distinctly remember a time where it was one of the only things MTV aired. Honestly made me hate the show and that DEVO song. Glad to hear MTV moved out of the Dark Ages.
Speaking of animation, there's an anime movie called "Omae Umasou da na" (colloquially translated as "You are Umasou" and officially as "Heart and Yummie") which is a MUST if you like dinosaur stories. Make sure to have tissues nearby when you watch it tho. And looking at the indie scene, there's a project called Talon that so far only has a trailer, but the studio behind it is trying to get a full pilot done. Then you've hot Sauria made by the super talented Dead Sound. And I can even point you to a corean animator who pretty much has his own show on youtube.
There's a nintendo DS classic besides Fossil Fighters that's called Combat/Battle of Giants which is an underrated gem. It had a bunch of sequels of varying success and quality. But if you're into point-and-click games, you must 100% check out Zniw Adventure and the upcoming sequel Zid Journey. They're entirely hand drawn and animated by a very talented artist that not only has an adorable art style but also manages to make the animals up to date at the same time. It really makes me wish that there was a whole animated series or movie with that artwork.
What if Nintendo & Sega worked with Ludia on their own versions of Jurassic World Alive? Nintendo could work on a Fossil Fighters version of Jurassic World Alive & Sega could work on a Dinosaur King version of Jurassic World Alive.
I did debate a few names. “Fossil” was one of them, as well as “ancient” Fossil felt a little to restricting as it would’ve made the Kaiju group feel out of place, and “ancient” could’ve worked and I could include Pokemon like Claydol and Golurk, that felt a little too broad.
@@DanMarinaraMan oh I only played multiplayer with my friends or if I wanted to fight others because that's what everyone on there is pretty much like all the time. I play single player a lot of the time because I can just play how I want without issues other than random dino encounters, if you haven't tried playing that way I highly recommend it
I had this idea for a biopunk PvP shooter loosey inspired by the old Dino Riders cartoon and toy line. Both factions (one human, the other human-reptile hybrids) field dinosaurs in futuristic armor instead of vehicles alongside infantry, with each type of dinosaur tailored towards a certain role in battle: Ornithopods (like Iguanodon or Parasaurolophus) are jacks-of-all-trades, ornithomimids (Gallimimus) are fast scouts, dromaeosaurs (Utahraptor) are flankers, abelisaurs (Carnotaurus) are shock cavalry, small ceratopsids (Protoceratops) are ATVs, medium (Styracosaurus) and large ones (Triceratops) are tanks, stegosaurs are mobile defense platforms, spinosaurs are for amphibious assaults, and so on. Their weapon configurations would be customizable to further optimize them to their players' prefered tactics, as would their visual appearance with not just skins, but body parts that can make them look like certain real species or like mix-and-match hybrids.
I wish there'd be news on Compound Fracture. It's pretty much a 1st person Playstation 1 retro inspired horror game like Dino Crisis. The trailer looked amazing, insanely good atmosphere and exactly what everyone wants from a scary dinosaur game.
Paleo pines for indie game is kind good. Hope other dev can make the same game like this. Become zookeeper simulator but still uses third person poin of view now like god view "like the sims,or Kurasu World game" and have creature react to what players doing kind awesome.
Some pointers: * The Mewtwo in the Genesect movie is not the same one as in the first movie. There were plans to use that Mewtwo, but rights issues related to the character at the time forced them to create a new one, which was given a female voice, likely to differentiate it from the previous one. * Arceus Chronicles, Legend of Thunder, Mewtwo Returns, and Mastermind don't actually count as movies. Arceus Chronicles as published in Japan as four separate episodes that Netflix combined into a single special for the Western release, and the rest were movie-length TV specials. So Secrets of the Jungle is the last actual anime movie. * Origins and Concierge are miniseries published straight to RU-vid rather than movies. * 15:43 Mew is a Mythical Pokémon, not a Legendary. There's a difference. * I know a lot of people like the third movie, but I personally find Molly annoying. I've never liked the trope in fiction where a child gets a hold on power they cannot comprehend and unintentionally cause harm to the adults. My favorite movies are the first and Lucario ones. * As a fun bonus fact, I think all the movies before I Choose You! are supposed to be canon, even if the evidence grows nonexistent the further down the line we go. To mention a few examples, Ash mentions the Lugia from the second movie once in Johto, the city from the Deoxys movie is revealed to be the hometown of one of May's rivals at one point, and as you too mentioned, the city from Pokémon Heroes is seen again in one of Ash's last episodes.
I liked to include the short series and tv specials as they typically added up to a movies length, and the more the merrier. The Mew thing I meant legendary not in the pokemon category, but just a description of its status in history. I also know the difference, but I have always considered mythicals a sub-category of legendaries - reguardless of what Gamefreak says.
@@DanMarinaraMan Ah, gotcha. You're not the first one to consider it a sub category. It's a separate category, though. The term has always been different in Japanese ever since Mew, but it took the western releases multiple years to realize the difference, giving the misconception that they're the same thing a lot of time to settle in.
Every now and then I have a massive urge to play a dinosaur game only for me to realize that there are barely any good dinosaur games. To be fair, there is also a lack of good dinosaur movies outside of the Jurassic Park franchise. And I honestly don't understand why. Dinosaurs have to be the coolest piece of earth's history, it's mind boggling that they don't get milked in media.
Super old, and weirdly a dinosaur game. Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit!. It's a game based on the old Home Improvement show, but for some reason has dinosaurs.
Pokken didnt fail. All fighting games are niche and sell 1-3m. The only top selling fighting is smash thats it. Street Fighter 6 is on multiple platforms still sold only 3-4m.
@@DanMarinaraMan Smash ultimate sold 20m-30m doesnt have a professional scene either. Nintendo just doesnt like their games having professional scene. The only games that have professional scene are Pokemon mainline and Splatoon i think.
Yes please. Me & the kids have become addicted to Paleo pines😂. Would love an expansion to it or a paleo pines 2! I would love to play prestoric park but my pc is too old that the game can't even load 😅
One very cute paleontology game I'm looking forward to is Goodlands! Not out yet, we don't have a release date, but it's still in development, and you basically play as a paleontologist digging up fossils for a museum, with a cast of cute dinosaur NPCs
Honestly, I disagree with most of what you said. I think the transition between a 2D and 3D fighter was greatly done. In a fighting game community, everyone has their preferences but there are only very few people who really hate the other thing. And additionally there are pokemon who shines in the 3D sections while other shines in the 2D parts. So you will naturally have a main that fits your preferred playstyle. And the mixed pokemon types were awesome and completely made sense. Pokemon is already all about battle. Fighting type doesn't mean it is the only type that can fight, it just means it specializes in a certain type of fight. I think the reason why this game failed was because it is Nintendo exclusive. In fighting games, most people prefer to use specific controllers. And you can't use those on the Wii U or the Switch. Additionally the assist mechanic felt really out of place.
Man pokemon 2000 being so low is criminal. I always loved the setting, enjoyable cast, epic battle + the scene at the end where Team Rocket saves the day is a good bit of Poetic Justice. Soundtrack is also immaculate
The music is very good, and I’ve always like Slowking in it as well. Just watching it recently, it didn’t click with me as much as the others of the time did.
I loved the film as a kid, and the kid in me still loves seeing the legendary birds, but watching it as an adult I was surprised by how poor it was on a "film" scale. Still fun and the kid in me loves the nostalgia.
5:18 For a pokemon called the Gratitude Pokemon, Shaymin sure is ungrateful. I get that was the point, but the characterization of Shaymin in this movie really annoys me.
I remember that there was a gag about this in one Pokemon fan comic, they brought that Shaymin specifically in as a cameo and just made them exactly like their character. But if they sucked even more.
This will be an interesting watch. I'm only really familiar with the movies up to Gen 5 + Pikachu I Choose You. Intrigued to see if they dropped in quality over time or if I simply just grew up and lost interest in the movies. And my favorite Pokemon movie is the Lucario one. That is a slapper of a movie. I also have fond memories of Pokemon 2000, Pokemon Heroes, and the Manaphy one.
i think only having a fighting type roster is way limiting. i see pokken of having the idea of an actual real time pokemon battle like in the anime without the type advantage aspect (they don't seem to matter too much in the anime anyway(until it does))
I think if they had 25 fighting types and Machamp being the face of the franchise, it would fail. Pokemon needs its iconic Mon front and center but I like that they really diversified the roster.
I love the game as it is and to answer the title of the video, Pokken failed, because of lacklustre singleplayer modes. The story mode is terrible and the daily challenge is nice, but not the eye catcher and also only added to the deluxe edition (Switch). The roster is totally fine and with over 1,000 Pokemon's impossible to satisfy any possible buyer.
Have you heard about close combat? It is a fangame that it is literally this, a pokemon fighting game with just fighting types. And between the ones that you have said it is literally the whole rooster of characters unless for: scrafty and toxicroak (but you said their prevos lol) , medicham, mienshao and gen 8 and 9 mons (some of the funniest additions by the way, falinks, galarian zapdos and freaking great tusk are crazy on a game like this)
I do like the phase shift system. I get that its a bit messy to build a game with both systems in mind but it filled its purpose. Firstly, it made the game unique. Its a horrible mentality as a game developer to just make "Insert game that already exist" but with a different skin will sell and most importantly KEEP selling. Even with Pokemon. Second, it resets to neutral. Especially if you want a game to be accessible to a casual audience, you want to prevent a situation, where one good player wins by hitting one interaction and keep the pressure up infinitely or worse case scenario does a zero to death combo. Thats why games like GGS or DBFZ have "Burst". And if the roster choice was the only other reason why people didn't like the game, then they probably don't deserve a sequel. Why limiting your options? There are so many creative pokemon in the game and you can't replicate this by being racist to all non-fighting types (sarcasm here with my extreme choice of words, but thats basically what it is). Darkrai's weird dimension rifts, Gengar's teleport shenanigans, Decidueye's flying stance, Empoleon's ice sliding, Aegislash's stances, Sceptile's seed traps... If you want a fighting game where all your fighters are just punching and kicking, then you miss so much potential. We talk about fantasy creatures with all sorts of powers. A Karate-Pokemon is the most boring inclusion ever, just play any other fighting game and will find your "wrestler" and "Boxer" and "weird break dance fighter". Your reasoning goes down to "its cool" or "iconic". Slow, fast or "slashy" fighting styles are not enough to forge a coercive moveset. You could at least try so put characters into stereotypes like zoners(which only kicklee could fill btw) or mention some "specialties" what a character would make him unique or interesting. Which "attacks" would they use?
Few counter points. 1. As I said in the video, the fighting-only idea works if every type got their own game showcasing their speciality. 2. I don’t know a copy-past of another game with a Pokémon skin. Not all 2d fighters are copy’s of each other, just because this has a gimmick to differentiate itself doesn’t immunize itself from that argument either because it’s plays like a lesser Tekken. 3. The intention of the video wasn’t going to be 100% about the roster, it ended up being more fun of a topic to talk about so it got highlighted more. Maybe one day I’ll delve into full movesets for every Pokémon I chose here. The purpose for that section was to show a cohesive set of pokemon that are already fighting type, and it’s a fighting game. Ergo a clever concept for a roster. I’m sorry if you saw the characters I chose and can’t imagine show a Primeape would fight different than a Hitmontop.
@@DanMarinaraMan 1.: So you're not only ruining one game, but 18 games. Neat. There are only a few games that would work with this kind of restriction. A farming game with only plant types would need to fully focus on the plant-growing aspect. No farm animals like miltank, no Mudsdale, no Tauros, no Combee. You can maybe make an Abzu-like underwater exploration game, because 99% of all candidates would be water types, but most times, you just restrict yourself to a less complete experience. 2.: Not a Tekken expert, but didn't know Tekken had 3D-Phases and Assists. Maybe I phrased that badly, but I never said, all 2D fighters are clones of each other. I wanted to say, if you have a unique IP in your game, use its unique aspects. If I like to play as a karate-dude, I have plenty of options. If I want to fight as a flying and fire-breathing dragon, not so much. 3.: Yeah not 100%? Its just 2/3 of your video and with the suggestion to cut the phase shift your only two points. Oh, I can imagine how these would fight different, but different isn't the same as interesting. YOU made a video, were YOU claimed that YOU know how to form a better roster, so YOU should show YOUR superior design skills. And "slashy" isn't convincing. Fighting types in a fighting game is not "cohesive". Its a pokemon game. Use Pokemon, they all fight. Most of us grew up with the anime and they even made a Metapod fight by letting it sling upwards and crash down like meteor. They didn't restrict themself to only "natural fighters", but used the specialties of each pokemon to create a compelling scene and made each and every pokemon shine at least once. The world of pokemon is diverse and so should be every game. To make a example, I suggest Seviper as a new fighter. It would switch between two stances, with head or tail being in front. Moves would slightly change depending on the stance, the part being in front would be faster(since it has less distance to traverse) and they could combo into specific other moves by changing stances. You could also go for a status component, where the bites add a poison debuff and the tail gets benefits when the opponent is poisoned(based on moves like Venom Drench and Venoshock or the ability merciless)
@@MrNovascar 1, What would be the insect game? What would be the Fairy? Wait, would dragons get a Spyro platformer? Hehe, this was not a good video tbh.
