If I wanted to start a portable laser business for metal/wood engraving specifically do you think the F1 is the best option? Do you know if the F1 can engrave a wrench?
@chaddiy3512
@chaddiy3512 9 дней назад
Hello, yep...I would say the F1 would be your best option. It is super portable where you can run your laptop, and F1 off of a small battery generator...and yes, it should be able to engrave on a wrench just fine!

@TheExtremeElementz 9 дней назад
@@chaddiy3512 Thank you for the reply, I have been hearing it would be slow to engrave but can’t find any examples online. I’d like to offer and engraving service on hand tools. @@chaddiy3512 Thank you. The Deluxe package F1 with the purifier and rotary engraver adapter for $2000 is more in line with my starter budget. Yes, this is a good start for 3d printing, and have big potential too. If you have hands growing from the right place. But it can be used in unmodified state too. I bought Ender 3 two years ago and would buy it again. It is very easy in modification, and there are a lot of instructions and upgrades. Only choose wisely what you do = ) If you go into upgrade path better buy second printer for time saving. So you can easily reprint upgrade if something does not fit. My first upgrade was autooff feature, you can use printbed to switch the switch which will cut off the power. = )

Hello, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues. I have never gotten any lines on tumblers, but did a few times on business cards. I thought the issue was the card was moving a little bit from the air movement of the laser head back and forth. If you are using the rotory, I don't think that would be an issue. Maybe reach out to xTool customer support and ask them about it? That is a strange issue forsure...working fine on dark but not light. Good luck, let me know if you figure it out!

Very ineresting video. I did the same thing many years ago. After using a less known printer (didn't work well), I bought a Ender3 V2 which worked great! I did the same learning then upgraded to BL touch, diferent bed springs, aluminum extruder housing, Jyers software, magnetic bed plate, etc. It worked great so I bought a second one and did the upgrades to it also. After I went to an Aviation Maintenance Conference last March and heard the FAA rep talk about using 3D printed parts I had to find a different printer. I ended up buying a QIDI Q1 Pro (good value). I gave my Ender 3's to my son and grandson. The Q1 Pro is going to be a new learning because of the slicer you use, but hey what heck. Anyway, thank you for the video, interesting and you msounded like me when I got the Ender(s). Good looking garage!!

Hello, and thanks for the comment! It sounds like you did a lot of upgrades to your machines. I still think the ender 3 is the best beginner printer, but I just got a Longer LK5 Pro, and even though that is still a budget machine, the touch screen is a great upgrade as well as how quiet it is. I hope you are enjoying your Q1 Pro and happy printing!

@chaddiy3512
@chaddiy3512 Месяц назад
Hello, you can actaully do it however you would like. The xTool S1 shows wherever the laser head is on the software itself. So if you want to put the cross hairs at the bottom left, you would just have to make sure the graphics you are engraving is above that crosshairs in the software. Always make sure you Frame it before you actually do the engraving. This way you will know if you have it correct or not. Good luck!

The XTOOL M1 is a nice starter laser. It also has a camera. That's what I have with my Glowforge Pro. Although I love my Glowforge I have I am contemplating purchasing the P2 because it seems to have everything the Glowforge has and XTOOl's software great and it's included with your laser. Great review. It the price comes down on the P2 it may be too hard to rest the temptation. As much I like my Glowforge Pro I'd consider selling it because I don't have a use for that many lasers.

I figured the P2 is all I would ever use, but I have found myself using the F1 a lot as well for engraving. xTool has really made some great machines and the software to go with it... I can see why you would want to switch from the Glowforge platform.

I have this same printer and it’s been running great. Multiple 41 hour prints that turned out amazing. PLA+ runs the best with this printer I’ve found so far. TPU wasn’t running right until I went to the tractor supply store and found a small rubber o-ring to put around the metal wheel that holds the filament against the gear the drives the filament in. It kept the TPU from slipping. So far I haven’t been able to get carbon fiber nylon to run. It actually broke my hot end which was an easy replacement from amazon.

I bought this same printer because of the size and price and it is my workhorse. As I type this, it is running behind me, printing an item that uses about 80% of the print bed and has been running since yesterday morning. I run multiple day prints on it all the time with zero problems. I also really hate when people slam this printer for it's simplicity of the menu as if it needs to be complicated to be good. I own several printers and use them every day but for some reason, I just love the LK5 and yes, once dialed in, it prints smooth as glass with nice even lines. The only change I made cost $7 and it converted the unit to direct drive so I had to print an overhead spool holder.

A "good" video, BUT, I cringed when you started to thread in the fittings on the regulator.... a BIG FYI - when you wrap Teflon tape on a fitting, as you are looking at/into the fitting end, ALWAYS WRAP CLOCKWISE.... This direction of wrap will not "unwind" the Teflon tape as you screw it in. The big A$$ bunching of the tape when you screwed it in PROVES the tape was wrapped CCW.... AND, when using this great tape, DO NOT wrap past the end of the fitting because you WILL F UP THE internals of whatever you are screwing.... A good idea video, but, not so much in the process....
