very insightful hearing him say that he believes that over a long time he should be able to gain rating, or "at least stabilize" this to me shows lots of growth on his part.
Alright, as a chess player myself, chess in my opinion should not be treated with kindness, you go in there with no mercy and to win, you go out with no mercy, a win and a happy day or with rage and bad day.
Not sure its possible to put some scanner and see how his brain functions during a match.. all these mind games are so intense that would do thousands of calculation before doing any move and it would nice to see how his brain functions to its peak....
I have played against opponents who just move the pieces to ambiguous locations. Where they constantly straddle two or more squares. So yes, some people have awful hand etiquette.
Wonder wht strategic plans do Nihal's team has for him for the near future... Esp when not getting many invites for closed tournaments...Playing solidly will help him avoid losses but won't help in gaining rating points... May be time to shift gear to push a bit to take some risks🤔🤔🤔
