I love all kinds of cars. If you have at an old photo, I’m the person who is identifying the cars in it! 😉 I have built up a collection of some family heirlooms (1965 Olds Delta 88 and 1985 Buick LeSabre Collectors Edition.) Plus some reminders of favorite cars of the past. (1978 Ford Bronco, 1985 Pontiac 6000 LE, 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE, and 1993 Toyota Celica GT) my modern rides are a 2021 Toyota 4Runner and 2023 Corvette Stingray. Please don’t make me pick a favorite!
Can you share how much to PPF the entire car with the 10mil thick XPEL? I got a quote for my 4Runner and it's 50% more than the last car they did for me--granted it was a RAV4....thanks!
You are probably aware that if those rims have rivets put tubes in and clean and paint. Just my safety suggestion since some shops won't mount them. Great Windsor and I Love that color. Sorry about the Corvette. WE bought the wife's house TOO.
It’s got 10 mil XPel Ppf on the entire vehicle. I had a protective film put on the windshield too. They trailed it from the dealer to the shop back in February.
Have you actually tested that cooler in the frunk for trips? Would love to hear the results and what you did and how cool it really stayed....etc...etc...
They are a Toyota part. They are on the Monroney (sticker). They may be a US only part as the dealerships in the US are split into different regional distribution companies and Toyotas have slight option/price differences depending on the region you buy in. I’m in the Central Atlantic region, so a dealership there may be able to get you the part number if not available in Canada.
Got a TRD ORP in Underground in the end of March and have 6500 miles on it and I love it so much, it came with the Pro rims and planning to add the heritage grille. I’ve heard some mixed reviews of the Toyota dashcams because you apparently need to use their app and the SD card is very small. I went with the Garmin mini dash cam and it’s been amazing… super discrete, great quality, and I can view the live feed as long as I’m nearby and have service. Love your channel!
Thank you for watching! I haven’t had any issues on this or the 21 I recently sold. I’m a big fan of the camera but you do need their app. It’s a micro SD with an adaptor. There is a wifi connection from it to the app which you need to set up and make sure it’s on before downloading, but I don’t really download video much.
I have a '23 Solar Octane built up 4Runner w/ Supercharger. Going to keep that as my daily. Meanwhile shopping for a 2024 Underground and Terra TRD PRO. I'm going to have the pre-delivery team keep the plastic on everything and get a car cover to store. Literal guaranteed FJ Trail Teams type value in 10 years (probably ~$100K w/ inflation). Rare colored Tacoma/Tundra/4Runner will be highly sought after and collectable. People will think I'm insane, until they find this comment in 10 years from now when it's rare as hens teeth to find these. PS, Make sure you undercoat the frame!
I was going to do this with this one and keep the 21. But I’m building a big garage and have a bunch of other distractions so I decided to drive this. They are going to be coveted for sure!!
Yeah I’ll pass. They’re the same since 2009 besides a facelift… the best used value is the Lexus gx460 which is superior to the 4Runner in every single way.
@@aeirsone9045 maybe you didn’t notice the infotainment update in 20, the option of front cameras in 22, blind spot rear cross traffic alert in 23 heated steering wheel (awesome) in 23 and a few more things. I won’t tell your employer….😂😂😂
@@Glasscitycarnerd certainly you are aware all of those were standard on the Lexus gx460 in 2014, nothing is “new tech” there buddy. But if you feel better about paying $55k for a 2009 Toyota with some parts bin tech tossed in, that’s good for me 😅🥹
That will save me thousands if I’m ever in a “your word against mine” scenario. It’s integrated into the system and not tacked on. So yep, happily paid only $500 for this. 😉 A lady pulled into the path of my wife and daughter once, and thankfully there was a witness who proved the lady was lying to the cops. So, yep.
I did a similar thing, selling my red orp, and picking up a black pro. Wanted terra, but my daughter said no. Love it. Actually, I still have both, but the red will go soon. Nice vid. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Congratulations! I agree about Terra, especially coming from Barcelona Red. I was thinking Black, bit this Underground was the perfect spec for me! Stay tuned, my old red one will be appearing this weekend on the channel…..
Love these 4runners, but it's time to move on to new ones. These are slow, and doing 70 mph on highways feels like driving a bus. The new 4runner is a way to go.
I have to agree. though the reputation for reliability is known, in 2024 a thirsty yet very underpowered drivetrain seems so backwards. I can deal with the sluggishness, but not at 15-16MPG. will probably sell mine and when the new 4runner is available
@@MaximumDIYGarage Mechanical yes. The modern features of Apple Car play, rear obstruction warnings, front camera/trail camera make the later ones just a bit less anachronistic. 😉 Love them all!
I was all in on the 2025 redesign until I started scrutinizing the differences. -Complex turbo 4 cylinder -Objectively less cargo space due to seat folding changes and hybrid battery storage. -Smaller backseat ( despite an increase in length of the vehicle ) -Less ergonomic controls. More functions buried deeper into the laggy touch screen system. - guaranteed dealer mark ups for the first year or so. Expect higher msrp too. - little to no after market support due to being a ground up redesign. I put a $1000 deposit on a 2024 model expected to arrive next month. It's not that I think the redesign will fail. It's just new and unproven. Too many design decisions are based on overly burdensome government regulations rather than customer satisfaction. The only aspect of the new one that seems outright better rather than just different would be MPG, but it remains to be seen if that's a big difference. The new Tacoma is getting only a couple mpg more than the previous gen.
Agree 100%!!! These vehicles are proven examples of quality & reliability. Something that is truly hard to find in today's world. Got a 24 TRD off-road premium about 2 months ago, Barcelona red, was not looking for a vehicle at all at the time, but ended up learning this was the last year for this version of the 4 runner, spent a weekend researching which model would suit me best, found one the next week & now it's in my garage. Crazy how it all worked out, but so thankful & grateful to have been able to get my hands on one, now my 98 Tacoma has a yota buddy!!!! 😊
I think you made the right choice. With the way current Toyota revamps end up having a ton of issues thus far I have a feeling this model will outlast the 25's that are to come.
Sadly I agree. I used to just take for granted that each new Toyota would improve on the previous. Now, for the short term hopefully, I don’t see the engine being better.
Congrats on the 4runner beautiful rig. You mentioned fluid film to the under cathage which i did to my 2016 4runner but when I purchased my 2023 4Runner the I had the dealership do waxoyl treatment to the under cathage because like you we live in the rustbelt of NH. waxoyl is a better product and lasts much longer than fluid film, just figured you would want to know. Good luck
Thanks. I looked into that, but I like the thinner nature and I reapply the Fluid Film each fall and my 21 looks brand new. The tech at the dealership complimented it and said, “Whatever you are doing to treat the underside, it WORKS, keep doing it!” They are both good, and both do amazing at preventing corrosion.
Purchased an Underground 2024 TRD ORP on 12/27/2023. Threw on the OEM trail running boards and the “new” TRD Pro concave wheels. I prefer the new one over the old ones they are putting on the 24 Pros. Love my 4Runner and plan to pass it down to my son in 13 years as his first vehicle.
Love reading stuff like this ❤️ my 7 year old is absolutely patiently awaiting my 2018 TRD OR which currently has 105,000 miles… XPEL full front end PPF, Bilstein 5100 @ 0.85, BFG KO2, and Baja Designs amber fog lights…. This has been the most trouble free and capable rig I’ve ever owned and she’s paid off…. At 42 years old, this is the only vehicle I’ve ever owned that I could call an “investment”. Happy Father’s Day to everyone out there saving their Yotas for their little ones!!!!
Those new wheels are nice but I was actually happy when mine came with the original TRDs TBH. My son is the same age, I think he’s going to drive one my Celicas in the good weather. 😉 He loves the 5speeds.
Purchased 2024 TRD OR premium in underground last week. Last call for this legend of a truck. The 2025 will have better tech but really like the looks and simplicity of the 2024.
Another great video. Bought a 2021 TRD ORP brand new and will be keeping it for the long haul. Fluid filmed since new and no rust. Love the underground color.
Pretty XPEL shine.....I have a RAV4 XSE in XPEL in eight....metallic grey / black....happy to share pics lol. Your dashcam looks different than mine. I had a paint chip in my Camry XSE v6 within 3 days of ownership....i got the paint filled in but it's still there....made sure I took my RAV straight in as soon as I bought it for the PPF. I'm a big fan of it now. Is that nightshade running boards?
I had mine trailed to the shop in an enclosed trailer straight from the dealer. I never drove mine for the first two weeks I owned it! 😂. The bars are sliders. No step.
I have a 2023 4Runner TRD PRO and it looks almost exactly like yours with the exception of a few minor differences. I have magnetic gray metallic compared to underground. I have the same rock sliders as you. I even have the red TRD badge that you have in your front grill. I absolutely love my 4Runner!! I want to fluid film my 4Runner as well, but I’m not sure where to take it to get that done. I was wondering how much it cost to have that done? I live in Colorado. Thanks!!
Around Pittsburgh it was about $300 for the undercarriage/frame to be done. More if you wanted them to remove door panels to get in there. It’s 100 to have a refresher coat put on each fall. My 21 went through 3 winters and looked brand new underneath. So worth it!
The 5th generation of the 4Runner will be the last that will retain its value with that 4.0 6yl. That 2.4 with a hybrid motor will have issues. Buying a new 5th gen at the end of the year and will happily pay 58k keep those turbos away from me.
I’ve only had mine for a month and I’m already at 816 on the odometer. The majority of the miles came from me driving it from the dealership in Northern Virginia home to North Carolina. 😂
Mine will be here in a few weeks. Pretty excited. Love that underground color. Trading my 24 limited back to them for the pro. Only a few thousand loss on trade and 5k diff in overall MSRP. Deposit is in and it’s mine when it lands. Appreciate your videos as it’s same build as yours.
