Nice! Got my 2024 Pro in underground a few weeks ago and love it. Mine has the plastic running boards and the sliding rear cargo deck, which was a must-have since it makes a completely flat surface when the seats are folded. Congrats
Congratulations! This one was built without my input. I really wanted the DASHCAM as my 21 has it. My 21 is a third row and those seats are flat and fold differently. I wish Toyota offered the third row in the Pro.
Very nice!!! Looks awesome 💪🏼 I have the same ‘24 4Runner Underground Color except mine is the TRD OFF ROAD PREMIUM. I too had a’21 4Runner that I traded for the ‘24 Love the Toyota 4Runners!!! Thanks for your video 🤜🏼🤛🏼 GOD Bless!!!
Traded in my 2004 4Runner yesterday with 210,000 miles. Got the 2024 TRD Pro off road premium and absolutely loving it! What a difference in the technology in todays new and last 5th generation model ❤
Congratulations on yours!!! After driving mine about 100 miles today, I’m so happy I did both with it. This won’t be an easy color to keep clean, but at least the paint is protected.
@@Glasscitycarnerd I also bought a 2024 TRD PRO same truck color, but I will change out the rock rails for regular running boards because of the sand gravel-type mix on the roads in Canada. I may look at the paint protection as well.
i feel like the pro is the one to get if your not going to mod it and just keep it a few years as they probably keep their value the best. im looking at the new tacoma, the new 4runner when it comes out or a 5th gen 4runner TRD premium as i plan on keeping whatever i get 7 to 10 years. so many options. god bless America! thanks for sharing.
Awesome truck- runner brother. Have the same 4R TRD pro lunar rock. I lifted with Westcott design lift and 285. Night and day difference. I highly recommend. Better stance and more aggressive
Love Lunar Rock!! I know that Wildpeaks like my 21 are the first thing I do. I was worried that the one inch lift and roof basket were going to be too tall for the garage! If it gets lifted, the rack has to change.
@@Glasscitycarnerd I had same concern with garage clearance. It fits with 285’s and Westcott lift in garage. I have about 2-3 inch gap from top garage door With upgraded lift and tires and same TRD pro basket- fits just fine/ just a fyi
I really don’t want to or need to get rid of it, however in full disclosure the 24 is my 11th vehicle….😳. I have some really cool collector cars that I drive in good weather. My two daily drivers are the 4Runner and my C8 Stingray. If I didn’t have the others I would, but it’s a bit much, even for me.
Nice !! Congratulations. Thank God I was going to call my shrink before I saw your video for wanting to upgrade my 2017 for a 2024 4Runner. Ok I am not crazy 😂
Thanks! 😂 The upgrades since 20 are awesome, but then the 23-24 final adds are just cool. I never knew how awesome a heated steering wheel was until my 23 Corvette. The trail camera is really nice too.
Congratulations on you new 4runner super nice brother.....money well spent no Dao. I have a 22 sr5 premium 4x4 black out package trd wheels I get the sr5 only cus 7 seat love it. 😂😂nice video
Very nice love that new color beautiful 🤙🏾I purchased a 2022 TRD off road premium and installed a prinsu roof rack, westcott design rock sliders, ladder, 6112 bilstein in the front 5160 bilstein in the rear Old man emu rear medium 898 springs, which gives me a full 3” lift I run dual battery system from Genesis Offroad that powers my dometic refrigerator also put 285/75 17 ko2s tires, method 305 17x8.5 with -0 off set and ikamper mini that’s it $10,000 in upgrades installed everything myself save 2,000 in labor cost except for wheels from discount tires and $250 for a wheel Alignment best Overland vehicle in the world built with pride I owned a jeep and they are the best rock crawlers but highway driving sucked I paid for my 4Runner out the door with TTL $48,000 brand new only 3 miles on the Odometer
Congratulations on your new vehicle! I'm near the Pennsylvania area and I'm curious to know where you get your fluid film applied. Additionally, could you please share details about the shop you used, along with the pricing for the services you did such as XPEL PPF, ceramic coating, and windshield protection film?
Nice! I have the exact same truck I just got it.. I’m looking to do full PPF as well. Would you be able to share how much it did cost? Thanks in advance!
I have a 2023 4Runner TRD PRO in magnetic gray metallic. Where did you buy your canvas back cargo liners at? Those look super cool!! I love your new 4Runner by the way!! Congratulations!! My 4Runner is ceramic coated as well and the dealership did the ppf, but there’s not full ppf on it, just on the typical spots of the vehicle. Thank you!!
It was showing as build status on December 26 and was due in early January. It arrived mid February. If you are going to get one, I’d suggest looking now and the good news is that you have a great vehicle to drive until the new one!
Thanks! It is XPel paint protection film. Here is some information from the shop that did mine. blackoutempire.com/locations/pennsylvania/latrobe/paint-protection-film/
To be honest, the embarrassing launch with random engine failures of the Tundra made me question what we will be getting in Gen 6. I wanted the last year of Gen 6, with all the last upgrades and PPF and Ceramic Coat.
I don’t believe that it should cause any issues, however, it may not be kosher with the PA code. But I only tinted the sides the same as the factory tint in the back. I would not tint the windshield.
So the XPEL 10 thickness, according to my dealer....obfuscates the color/gloss and is usually reserved for "Race cars". Just wondering what your thought process was on that. I'm using the standard 8 thickness. Camry and RAV4 owner and since this is the last year for "Dinosaur" 4Runner seriously considering this.
My shop is one of the biggest installers of XPel. I got the 10 on my Corvette and it saved my paint when a big rock his the side rocker. I just went for the 10 on the runner as well because of that. The color has never been mentioned by them. Both my cars are non-metallic and look the same as non-ppf. However the ceramic makes them both glow a bit more than standard.
I have three 4 Runner TRD Pros. A 2020 Army Green, 2021 Lunar Rock and 2022 White. For some reason, I now want one in underground. :) Just can't find one..... :(
My Brother in Law has a 21 Tundra TRD Pro in Army Green. Beautiful color. If you wanting to get one, I would do it. Anything now not spoken for is probably an April /May arrival. My dealer told me that the Pros are starting to get more attention lately, as it’s the last year and people don’t want to regret getting one.
Honestly I think the pros in Underground have been fairly easy to find; at least in my area. I feel like they’re making a lot of them. It’s a great color!
I could use some real world 4runner advice. My fam is considering nabbing one of these final 5th gens. Narrowed it down to the Offroad Premium, Offroad Premium with KDSS, or the TRDPro. Resale value is meaningful, though we do keep vehicles for the long term. Mostly on-road and light trail performance prioritized. No major offroading or modification intended at this time (perhaps mods in future), but we like to have serious get-out-of-a-jam capability just in case. How would you rate these three options?
Off-road Premium or PRO. Skip the KDSS as I’ve heard of horrible repair bills for it. If you are going to mod it, don’t get a PRO, Off-Road would get you Multi Terrain and crawl control and allow you to mod the regular suspension.
If you don't mind, what did you pay for your new 4Runner? I've read they aren't moving like they used to and you can get them for MSRP or a few grand off.
I got mine for $1000 off MSRP. Non-Pros are going for as much as $5000 off MSRP. Lots of deals. The Pro was being listed at the dealership at MSRP, I kept asking and we got to $1000 off. Other dealers in Pittsburgh are selling for about $3500 over on the Pro.
@@Glasscitycarnerd Thanks, good to know. I'm in the market for a 2024 probably a Off Road Premium because I want the KDSS suspension. I won't pay over MSRP that's for sure and I'll get prices from multiple dealers and see what I can get. Not sure on a color just yet though but it was nice seeing the Underground color more closely.
$8200 on the thicker 10 mil PPF, $1300 for the 8 year ceramic coating. Never heard of PPF damaging factory paint. Check out my video of my 21 if you want to see what not having it will do.
I have never driven a KDSS so I’m not sure. I did see a lot of nose dive at first in my SR-5 Premium. It went away after I got used to the brakes believe it or not.
I bought a stingray above MSRP. Just got offered one at invoice yesterday. The market is getting back to “normal”. The good news is that these vehicles last so long that resale value becomes irrelevant. (Kinda)
@@Glasscitycarnerd Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with my 23 off-road TRD lunar rock, got it with 6000 miles so the price was decent at the time, but man I didn’t know what was gonna happen in 2024 or when they were going to pull the rug on the fifth GEN and I felt I had to move quickly. But the fact that you can pick one up below MSRP these days in that underground at MSRP or even below? didn’t appear to be in the cards at the time.
The vehicle was $58,672 less $1000 off MSRP. Tax 7%, ten year/125,000 mile warranty $3,895. Total vehicle from dealer $66,527. Canvasback cargo liner $100 new WeatherTech mats $400, ppf $8200, front window tint $160, 8 year ceramic coat $1300, front windshield film $500 for a grand total of $77,718.
Thank you for sharing this. Everytime I do something to upgrade my 4Runner I’m going to show my wife what you spent and tell her I could be spending a lot more!😂 !
@@1supser no. Blackout Tinting is the finest PPF shop in the US. You want cheap, you get what you don’t pay for. My 23 Corvette has 12,000 miles and is perfect. Plus the PPF/ceramic is perfect. Actually, a bargain. I spend 100,000 on the Vette and 60,000 on the Pro, I don’t cut corners. My cash is too valuable to not spend on the smart stuff. 😉
@@azats338 8mil was about $7000, 10 mil which I went with is $8200. The shop I use in PA is phenomenal. They just won the top XPel shop. The installer is key. They actually take the pre-programmed patterns and modify them based on their experience as to what works better. This whole PPF is new to me, but if you’re going to do it, ask folks who have had it done what they like and don’t about the installation. It should be hard to notice lines on the exposed panels for example.
@@Glasscitycarnerd 250 highway miles? I'm just yanking your chain & 100% envious you have a family farm. It's the best color in my opinion. I'm a log truck driver (18 wheeler) in a dying business. We used to haul one tree, now it takes a quarter acre to fill the trailer anymore. Anyway, congrats on the new rig!
Beautiful vehicle, just not worth the cost imo and the exhaust and roof rack are useless. I had a deposit for the same exact vehicle that I just took back. I just cannot justify 60k for it. I get it though, great vehicle just not for everyone.
This is the cheapest a TRD PRO will ever be, best time is to buy now before the new gen 2025 comes out, they'll have some great discounts. New gen for 2025 with a TRD PRO trim will be north of 70. Plus they keep their values, you can always buy used with low miles, but don't expect BMW type of depreciation, it'll be very close to that 60 thou, 4Runners are cheaper to buy new.
That new 4Runner will not last. You let it idle during the most important break in period under 50 miles. It will burn oil prematurely as you let the pistons set in without the range of the cycling or rings. Next time you’ll do better prepping a new car for long term. Your welcome.
It takes 500+ for the pistons to set in. Idling it for few minutes won't make a difference, its the same as sitting in traffic or in line to Costco gas station, all normal use. You gotta have it idle for hours on end daily to have adverse effects. That engine is bullet proof its been in production for 19 years since the 2005 Tacoma, it'll outlast.
