People excusing these types of stories if it’s a BL comic or a chapter book (Haunting Adeline as example.) is always so gross. Like yes its fiction or “dark romance” but that doesn’t mean you should be romanticizing r*pe or abuse. You can enjoy dark romance without those roles.

for me, the most heinous thing is that mingwa had all the power to make this hot and consensual (the potential WAS there!!!) but they... didn't. why? why did they instead want THIS revolting environment for their own characters? i highly doubt they aren't aware that they're writing romanticized r4pe (unless they continuously turn a blind eye to criticism about their works), but i can imagine--as you pointed out--that they don't see the *wrongness* in it. but even then, they've been doing this since bj alex, and there just has to be some kind of learning curve somewhere? anywhere? seven years have gone by and they didn't stop and think about what they're creating even once? i just wish people, especially women, would stop eating this BS up because it supports mingwa in their way of thinking. if this keeps going, they'll keep sabotaging their new characters and their new stories until they end like jinx. jinx ended the moment Dan was r4ped for the first time. any "development" JK gets from this point on will mean nothing, because all the damage has been done and can't be taken back. he's violated Dan emotionally and physically in the most nauseating way possible, and that was mingwa's choice. there's no puling jinx out of the gutter now.

I personally like BL more than straight because I find some of them funny and sweet. But day by day, the BLs I read are just so... DISGUSTING. Sometimes the plot is actually good but then the sex scenes are just a huge turn off. Drop the drawing pencil.
This manhwa glorifies terrible things, and the people who enjoy it are ignoring how wrong it is. They’ll continue supporting it until something similar happens to them-such hypocrites. It’s disgusting how some people can even like characters like Choi Pilwon. This shows how desensitized some readers have become to violence and assault. It’s also troubling that many yaoi works are written by women (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I have issues with how some authors portray certain themes). They might have a general dislike for men, but it's still disturbing to see characters subjected to such things. People say men are bad and would choose a bear over them, but don’t forget-women can be just as awful as men.
I dropped it fast. When I got to that chapter where he was drunk. He thought that it was his teacher whom he'd give consent to. But the king? He literally raped him knowing that he was calling for the teacher. And having sex with someone who is not in their right mind, is rape. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT

It’s very triggering but it’s pretty well written and tragic read but the author manages to portray his inner turmoil in regards to his sexuality after the incident, his place in society and him figuring out towards the end that he needn’t blame himself for what had happened to him. I hate how toxic stories like Jinx has more people talking about it rather than these type of stories (also this manhwa does have smut but it’s just the way the author approaches this topic with the character is so profound)
