@@amalkacioui2262 No, it's moreso that like the majority of otome game protagonists that get translated from the game into other forms of media such as anime, for the most part Yui doesn't have much drive and doesn't really make decisions. She has situations presented to her and she mostly just reacts (most obviously shown how she just lets the vampires push her around and be mean to her and just takes it). It's because due to originating from an otome game, Yui is meant to be a self insert for players to project themselves onto. It isn't stupid or unrealistic to want a main character (especially a female lead surrounded by toxic male behavior) to respond with common sense and to actually do something about her situation (I am aware she does try to call the police and does reject many of the advances of the vampires, but it just doesn't feel like enough quite honestly, she doesn't stand up for herself in my opinion). Also like... bro it's just a character. Just like how you're allowed to like Yui, I'm allowed to not like her actions and find her bland at times. 💀

But it's an anime, not a game, and most anime are SUPPOSED TO HAVE WELL COMPOSED CHARACTERS you care for, even tho this was a s#ht show all and through. A non-interesting character that serves as a gateway for people with no life will not cut it for normal people.

From what I heard the game was “Designed to be for Otaku’s” that’s why the game has so much abuse and only has outcomes where you’re either a victim of abuse or a masochist. I’m guessing that when they were adapting this to an anime, they didn’t know how to make any of the “positive” outcomes look like it wasn’t supporting domestic abuse so they decided to make Yui as pathetic as possible to make her more sympathetic and undeserving of her situation. Unfortunately it just made her more frustrating.

In some routes she literally feels like she's betrayed God while in others she accepts both God and Vampires which I think says something. There's so many layers to her character and the relationships in the games! And her sweet, quiet personality is WHY she SURVIVED. She'd have died otherwise or get hurt multiple times in each route otherwise. I just don't understand why people can't enjoy your edits and the comedy while respecting Yui.
